I guess that's subjective. In my opinion, 30 years in prison will destroy a person. Psychologically, I'd say she's as good as dead after spending 30 years in prison. Yeah, that's how plea deals work; they're less than what you could otherwise get. But 30 to life is virtually a death sentence anyway, so she might as well have taken her chances with a trial. Jury may have found her not guilty, and the judge may have given her a lighter sentence. The media always tell you the maximum possible sentence they could receive, which is virtually never what the defendant actually gets.
