So...looking into the source for the '30-40% of women were pregnant at time of marriage', it is not very convincing. It just says that parents often turned a blind eye to their children's premarital sex. The real question is, what percentage of women were pregnant at the time of marriage with someone else's child, subtracting accounts of rape? I wouldn't call a woman a slut if she marries the father of the child, basically.
