It sounds like simple manifestations of social anxiety which happens to be, in those moments, centered on their interactions with women, though one should remember that social anxiety exists on a far end of the same spectrum that includes a healthy level of self-reflection and self-awareness. I would suggest, as I myself endeavor to do, that one defines what "High-Value Man" means to himself, and consistently strive to meet that standard and then continue to expand it. Make some progress towards…

I would add to your argument that emotional/psychological instability often keeps one in the lower social brackets, and that instability in relationships is a by-product of this.

I'd just like to stick my face in between you guys for a second here and say that I have personally born witness to the wonderful loving harmony of a family where the man came home from work and had all the respect for his wife taking care of her role, and she graciously reciprocated that respect to him for fulfilling his own role. Each kept in mind the difficulties of the other's work, and helped to pick up the slack when necessary. Not to say they never argue, but there's a baseline of respect…

I almost never read someone else's comment history. How you got to this point of view is none of my business; your words speak for themselves.

I think you have some of the healthiest views and morals I've ever seen on this site. Thank you for sharing.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, and I appreciate how well-written and thoughtfully you make your point. I've experienced this ultimate expression of feelings with one person, and there is no comparison.

Most definitely! I believe that we should be grateful to all individuals who, directly or indirectly, contribute to the greater good. : )

Haha, well no one said they were entitled to anything. Their selectivity has long been a driving force for the advancement of the Human Race. Coupled with a man's drive to accomplishment, women selecting the most accomplished men to make families with dramatically increases the subsequent generation's amount of children whose role models set high standards, which is more likely to lead those children to accomplish more themselves, and thus the cycle repeats.

Keep in mind that women are the selectors of the species: you can thank them for a great deal of our progress and evolutionary success.

It’s laughable to imply that this is an exclusively female problem. Men display the same fantasy-reality disconnect concerning their ideal partner versus the partner they choose very often as well; you are more willing to rationalize their behavior though, seeing as how you’re on that team. How often do people say they want something because it’s socially respectable? In fitness circles, it’s very common to find people who go on about how much they love their morning smoothies made of dirt, sala…

It seems like an inherent flaw in the ongoing debate of this sub is that it’s extremely difficult to make statements without concurrently making sweeping generalizations.

It’s all up to us, man. I use the word “can” because I believe that we “can” use good judgment in selecting a partner that enriches our lives and is nourishing to our overall well-being. These people are out there; we need to exercise patience in finding them, and maintain our integrity in keeping them. : )

As another comment said, sharing your fears and being open displays bravery and trust. But you must do so in a strong way, that indicates that not only are you confident and unemasculated by sharing your fears, that you are dealing with them in a masculine way (demonstrate that you are not defeated by them, and not giving up in the face of adversity). If you do these things well, and a woman (or any close friend, really) still decides that you’re a bitch for it, you have simply chosen a shitty c…

14 years with my sweetheart is no dream. You sound very jaded, and I am sorry for that.

Well, choose to believe what you want. I’m going on 14 years with my sweetheart, and she is all of those things to me.

I feel a genuine sadness for you, if you honestly don’t know what non-financial value a woman can bring to one’s life. : ( Imagine working yourself sore all day, with so much hardness everywhere, and in everyone. Then you come home to someone soft and sweet and nurturing, who loves you and cares for your comfort. Imagine having someone that you can trust with all of your fears, who will support you without petty judgements. Imagine that this person drives you crazy with desire, and knows what yo…

Good news! I asked Young Pussy why it is not currently drowning you, and it said that it doesn’t like the way you capitalize arbitrary words in the middle of your paragraphs.

Of course a leopard would know how best to hunt leopards, but his point is that a leopard isn’t going to give you honest advice on how to hunt leopards.
