It might seem like a minor thing but I hate how people make fun of men who don't last long enoughI agree foreplay makes sex better, but let's not pretend that men aren't usually the ones who skip it. I have never heard a man complain that his woman partner skipped foreplay, but I hear women complain that men skip foreplay all the time. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/08/23 07:09 PM
| -7 | It might seem like a minor thing but I hate how people make fun of men who don't last long enoughTbf FGM is much worse than male circumcision both in its reasoning and its outcome. I'm circumcised and I wish I wasn't, but let's not pretend like the increased scrutiny against FGM isn't justified by how much more harmful the practice is. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/08/23 07:06 PM |
It might seem like a minor thing but I hate how people make fun of men who don't last long enoughI agree it's probably mean, but I think there are a lot of guys who only care about getting themselves off and aren't interested in pleasuring their partners. If guys were broadly more invested in their partners' pleasure, then I don't think this line of criticism would be as common. Personally I tend to be more concerned about people making fun of men over their dick size than I am about how long men last, because we have way less control over the former, and it's not a response to a selfish be… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/08/23 07:03 PM
What is your political alignment?Hey buddy, good to see you. Are you going to respond to my comment about Christina Hoff Sommers? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 29/09/22 01:56 PM

Concerning the events in IranWhere is this “feminist message” coming from? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 28/09/22 08:26 PM
LWMA LoungeNow that you describe Cassie Jay, I am familiar with her. The reaction to her documentary was shameful, even though it’s argument was a bit simplistic. It spent a lot of time framing family courts as biased against men because fathers don’t get custody as much, but it doesn’t mention that more often than not, fathers don’t want custody. Either way, this is what I mean when I say that the “feminists” who were outraged when the Red Pill came out are not sincerely committed to gender equality and t… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 25/09/22 01:46 PM
LWMA LoungeI’ll look into the other names, but Christina Hoff Summers is not somebody I would expect a LEFT WING male advocate to be supporting. The right wing media machine wanted to turn her into a mouthpiece and she was all too happy to oblige. Not sure what she’s doing these days but she was a culture war hack last I heard about her. Also I have to take issue with your representing “the feminist movement” as a monolith. Anybody well versed in gender discourse would know that there are factions that dis… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 25/09/22 12:35 AM
LWMA LoungeI agree that the antipathy is understandable—I myself feel that way about misandrist feminists. But I kind of feel like only talking about feminism when it’s slighted men instead of what it can do for men kind of cedes ground to the misandrists, instead of reclaiming feminism as a more constructive, sincerely pro-gender equity movement. Our commentary shouldn’t be “look what these feminists are doing,” it should be, “these people aren’t feminists.” | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/09/22 02:55 PM
LWMA LoungeI totally agree that these things should be advocated for without demonizing men in the process. I’ve had that conversation plenty of times with feminist friends. My concern here is that the conversation in this sub tends to center on mean things self-proclaimed feminist say to and about men. In the same way that their rhetoric about men kind of undermines their message about gender equity, I think the reactionary hyperfocus on how pop feminists think about men gets in the way of useful affirmat… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/09/22 02:51 PM
Feminism has resulted in only male characters having interesting writingI agree with the examples you raise but you have to admit that Disney sci-fi blockbusters are a pretty limited sample size for drawing this conclusion. When you look at dramas, especially in TV, and especially those specifically targeted towards women, you see fewer 1D protagonists like Rey or Captain Marvel. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 12/09/22 09:28 PM
LWMA LoungeI’m a little troubled by all the anti-feminist rhetoric I see on this sub, it makes me question the “left wing” part of the title. It’s true that there are women who call themselves feminists and speak and act in misandrist ways, but if they’re not willing to acknowledge and be even mildly sympathetic about the ways patriarchy hurts men, they don’t really understand what feminism is supposed to be about. Feminism isn’t a force that creates or supports misandry, and you’re well within your rights… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 12/09/22 09:23 PM
should we be attaking feminism? Or just misandry?I may be flirting with a no true Scotsman argument here, but feminists should be in favor of solving the gendered problems that men and women respectively face. It doesn’t need to be the main focus of their advocacy, but if they’re straight up blind to mens issues then I don’t think they’re actual feminists, I think they’re on a social bandwagon they don’t understand. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 03/09/22 05:27 PM
