Glad to see more FA women posting here. We need more diversity in perspectives. Even if we happen to attract the attention of men, we’ll be blamed for being picky and not going for the first man who expresses any interest. I don’t think men realize what dating (online) is like for a woman. They don’t realize that some men mass-swipe on literally every woman they come across and unmatch immediately after, or that us ugly women are used for easy sex as just another hole to fuck. Literally reduced …

If these types of groups become the norm, then I wouldn’t be surprised if young generations stopped dating completely. Knowing that you’re risking your entire reputation just by dating the wrong person who would cheerfully say awful things about you without you knowing to thousands of people online without censoring your personal details. Who’s to say that malicious people in that group wouldn’t try to reach out to your employer or family/friends to defame you further? Internet hate/cancel campa…

I’m disappointed in how dismissive the people in the other thread are of OP’s situation. Imagine if OP were a woman. People would be celebrating her calling off the marriage for something so seemingly petty. lol These double standards when it comes to men and women in relationships is very annoying and toxic. People are quick to take a woman’s side no matter what and always chastise the guy for being in the wrong. In my opinion, OP dodged a red flag. And I’m sure everyone will say his ex-fiancée…

I agree with OP, to an extent. Lonely, friendless people, even those with zero friends like me (at my advanced age lol) deserve a romantic life. Everyone does. It shouldn’t matter how many friends you have. Even friendless people can be great at socializing and getting along with others. I’m not the best at socializing. But I know how to interact with others and have a good time in social settings. I just don’t have any friends, but IDK if you could tell easily in a social situation where I’m co…

I hope they bring out the suicide pods for all us childfree folk, save me from the pains of an aging body /s I come from a culture where people treat their kids like their retirement fund, so it’s seen as extremely odd to not have kids or get married because how could you possibly survive otherwise? What you’re proposing is just a variation of that. I suppose governments could take it to the extreme and start taxing single people… that’s a quick way to move wealth out of the country Yeah, my pla…

I’m a female shut-in lol (not a NEET though). You’ll find more than a few on Reddit. But a shut-in man’s idea of a shut-in woman is overly glamorized, they unconsciously imagine us as having perfect skin that looks like natural makeup, a perfect body with no body hair and being super feminine. And if they come into contact with a real female shut-in they wonder why she doesn’t look like a goddess. As for me, I know how to identify my shut-in looksmatch and I’m not asking for anything beyond it. …

This is just eerie. We don't need more apps like OnlyFans. When I read the thread title I thought this was some kind of new male friendship app or perhaps a new approach to dating apps... if dating apps are the most popular way to meet people now, why is there so little competition? Other than Bumble, isn't it all Match group? Boo has some promise but it's not very popular. I wish there were more independent apps out there

This take is correct in our current age of filters ruining people's perceptions of what is average. Even scarier is how apps and even smartphones will automatically apply beauty filters without your knowledge. This is rampant in China. It is so bad there that if you take a group pic and don't filter your friends faces and figures, you become an outcast. Quite the mundane dystopia... I hope to god the younger generations realize how toxic this shit is and stop participating in social media entire…

But patriarchy is traditional, if toxic masculine culture, and it's worth having a discussion about it. It is an important term. Just because bad will actors abuse it for their own gain doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed. You're right in that men need a reform movement that does what feminism did for women. I personally think we need to strive more towards equality rather than feminism for women and whatever that equivalent is for men. I don't mean to erase either, but lots of gendered issue…

Yeah, uhh… there are plenty of women worldwide who don’t get any male attention. It depends on where you live, how social you are and the culture of the people you live amongst. Women who are not socially active will not get male attention, which to be fair is a small subset of women. I don’t actually live in one of those spaces, I live in a western country but in an area with a lot of immigrants from Asian countries. I was never a social butterfly in my teens and have next to no friends and lit…

I'm just glad I was raised by a mom who doesn't wear makeup, so I never ended up wearing or buying it. Not only has it saved me a ton of money, I also feel confident in my own skin. As in, I can look in the mirror and not feel like I need to cover up every little imperfection, I can walk out into society and interact with people with a bare face. I know there are plenty of women out there who feel confident with and without makeup but is so prevalent now that you're the odd one or unattractive o…

Like /r/AskWomen, it is an echo chamber of overly liberal, somewhat stereotypical viewpoints you'd expect of a majority white privileged female userbase. I used to frequent the sub on other accounts in 2011 to 2013, it was decent back then but I had a hard time relating to the other women there as I didn't and don't share many of their experiences. It was overbearing back then too. I haven't been to TwoX since, I don't think I'd be missing out on much. I did appreciate the activism on female rep…

Not until sexbots are a thing. Testosterone makes men crave physical touch. Words and VR alone won't do much, though they can be quite good at tricking your brain into thinking it's the real thing. I think this will serve a niche of men who are already satisfied with porn and want to take it to the next level. However there are still plenty of touch-starved men out there who desire real sensations that AI without a physical body can't provide. Will we see AI sexbots in 15 years? Maybe. Sex dolls…

As a below average woman, I'd be flattered if any male bothered to genuinely flirt with me, lol. If I were really uninterested, I would still be polite but would try to remove myself from the conversation as fast as possible. But if the person had the same interests as me I'd befriend them. Who knows, might even fall for them. We can be that one ugly couple

I think the issue is already coming to its peak with Internet porn being normalised and easily accessible. It's not the deepfakes that will be the tipping point, but actual sex bots. Sex dolls are more realistic than ever now, but they're really heavy, cumbersome and can't move themselves. Also, deepfakes or AI-generated porn would create more victims amongst the population than make men more pornsick. That's the real societal issue at hand here. Innocent people being sexualized outside of their…

Yes, the point of makeup is to hide flaws and enhance attractiveness. It is 100% a mask, but now it's also seen as empowering and artistic. However now skincare and plastic surgeries like Botox are taking over makeup's market share. I expect the latter will quickly take makeup's place once it becomes easy to perform & cheap. Nowadays filler is pretty much ubiquitous amongst influencers. Check out /r/Vindicta to see the procedures women go through to get the perfect face and body. Anyway, the con…

Anyone without relationship or sexual experience at that age will get taken advantage of. Anyway, I also seek someone with the same lack of experience as me even though that's really unrealistic for my age and location. It is possible within certain cultures though. At the same time I don't want to come off as vulnerable so I won't disclose my lack of experience to anyone unless I know them well enough to trust them not to take advantage of me. Hyper realistic sex dolls already exist and they're affordable for the most part. They're still rather heavy to move around. We're still so far away from a future where they'll be fully capable of moving around and engaging in conversations. In a future like that, everyone's going to be too busy fucking their sex bots to care about this culture war bullshit, lol. I think that as relationships & marriages become more and more scarce, they're going to be the next status symbol to go after. There's…

Height: Any. I'm 5'3. Income: Financial stability is a must. Even if he earns less than me, I don't care. As long as he has a stable career and has the skills & motivation to search for a new job if he loses his current one. His income should be enough to support himself and he should have some financial knowledge. If we're talking about the average looking person who has been socialized to an average degree with an average sized network... it shouldn't be too hard to get laid, but other factors like region, culture, urbanity, etc. are also going to affect your chances. Being a virgin isn't hard. I don't have issues in my day-to-day because thst question doesn't ever come up unless I'm at the doctor. Dating apps and social media are making people lose their grip on reality. It's turning everything into one endlessly churning monoculture manipulated by corporations. You have to work really hard to break out of it if it's all you've known (i.e. Gen Z). I think your analysis is spot on, and since everything is becoming so unaffordable (and monetized), that's probably why a lot of younger people are going to end up single & childless by 2045. God knows what happens after that. The sad part is, g…

I'm sorry you had to deal with that kind of shaming in your life, OP, don't take their comments to heart. They're just projecting. But... you don't have to follow in their footsteps and shame other women for how they present themselves. I say this as a virgin woman now in her 30s (regrettably). I do believe that virginshaming is now taking hold in pop culture. It's been around for the past 30ish years. Not so much towards women, but it's there. Social media has twisted people's views of attractiveness. I bet most men would consider women without makeup on to be unattractive, unless she has perfect skin, 0 acne, no discoloration, perfectly groomed brows, etc. The goalposts keep moving further and further away. That aside, I consider myself average to below average and I am perfectly happy with a man who matches my level of attractiveness. I do make an effort to groom myself, so I would ask that he do the same. Just because we're ugly do…

I'm a woman. I really should try it one day as I have a billion mental issues to sort out, but I hate talking face-to-face with people about myself. Even less so if it's something that makes me vulnerable emotionally. I need an anonymous therapist who can diagnose my issues through text only, lol. Do these exist? A stranger you can vent to who's licensed. That's my ideal therapist. The Internet always manages to fulfill this niche.

There are invisible women out here that halve never been given attention. Some have never even had someone only want them for access to sex. Their chance at motherhood and family has passed them, or will soon pass them by, and they are sad, depressed, despondent even, but not livid. There are some communities for looksmaxxing women (see /r/Vindicta and female-led groups surrounding the FDS movement). There aren't many right now but they're growing in number. Like "that girl" or the clean girl aesthetic on TikTok. Young women strive to be "that girl". Acceptance is still pushed in a lot of female communities, rightfully so, but it's not as mainstream as you think. For every woman telling a girl to love herself for who she truly is there will be 1-2 others offering advice on …

None, never been asked out in my life. My experience is similar to many male experiences shared here. I think it's because I grew up in a community of immigrants where very few of the guys date or care to pursue it--they're waiting on their families to arrange a marriage for them instead. So no matter how ugly you are, your parents will always be there to get you into a relationship. Cool in some ways, disastrous in others. That aside, whenever men complain about women getting tons of male atten…

I think social media really warps our perceptions of people, together with whatever the culture of your country is. A 4/10 in one country could be a 9/10 in another. It pays off to broaden your horizons. Grooming and knowing how to style yourself also goes a long way. If (American) men figure that out it would really level the playing field. Which is happening, but slowly.

It's on OP to have adult conversations with his partner about things like chores. Taking to Reddit and revealing that he was so immature he ended up destroying something makes him look dumb. We don't know the full situation anyway. Having a chore calendar or list that both partners can agree on and meet the expectations of is reasonable. If your partner, male or female, can't meet this then have those tough conversations with them. Even if you're earning less, if they're a decent human being the…

I feel like teens in the past went on dates a lot because there was little else to do. The Internet has really opened up a plethora of interactions that wouldn't otherwise exist. So many needs can be met through it alone. Obviously that's not a good thing because young people just aren't socializing the way older generations used to. You could sit him down and gently explain to him that he should try hanging out with her for a change--it's nice to make a friend who likes the same things you do. …

I don't know how true this is, at least in smaller communities where women don't have many men to choose from, or don't know how to access wider pools of men. I have seen posts on here and in other subreddits about women going for autistic low-functioning men because they were hot. I think the incel in your comparison would get a date but not a looksmatch necessarily, if he hung out in the correct small town bars enough. Similarly an autistic but hot, socially anxious woman may get her share of …

I want a looksmatching service so I know what league I'm in when it comes to looking for a long-term relationship. The ones dating apps use are skewed in favour of women (I'm female BTW). Hot men will go after any woman just to get laid, that's not conducive to a relationship

I like hot Buddhist monks, haha. They're like the only men who can pull it off. You need a really handsome face to pull it off. Same goes for women, if they have a super attractive face they can pull anything off and make it look cool/normalize it.

I'd choose to be a man, but gay. Living in my current country which supports LGBT. Don't have to deal with the bullshit of the hetero dating world. Or I'd choose to be an attractive woman. Being an unattractive woman who hates makeup kinda sucks (speaking from experience).

Maybe you are only pursuing women who aren't interested in these types of conversations? IDK what else to tell you. Or maybe the discussion just seems out of place for the event and the best these women can do is try to change the subject to a lighter one so they can, uh, enjoy themselves on a date? Discussing these things could become controversial quickly. If you know how to socialize you'll know which topics to avoid--especially on a date. Like several months to a year into seeing each other.…

Society in general needs to stop pushing relationships, sex and romance so hard. But it won't stop doing so anytime soon, because capitalism needs workers to keep it alive, and we are in constant need of tax payers. And yet, the West continues to trend downwards in birth rates. Not ending up with a partner is just how things end up being sometimes, but it seems standards for partners are so ridiculous now that putting an honest effort in won't do much for some folks. The kind of effort that coul…

People love to treat attraction as immutable. You can be a totally woke leftist feminist buzzword whatever and still only want to date men of X race who are X feet tall because "you can't change who you're attracted to!". When some of us try to have the hard conversations behind why people are more attracted to certain races and so on, a lot of people clam up and refuse to answer beyond "well, that's just what I'm attracted to! Can't change that!". The truth is that lack of proper representation…

It's going to heavily depend on cultural background. Where I live, unmarried people often live with their parents even though they have their own money and independence, their own careers and so forth. There's no real need or drive to leave the extended family. In these extended family units everyone relies on each other. Grandparents rely on parents. women’s sex drives don’t tend to peak and really kick into gear until later in life What evidence supports this claim though? Women are choosing to be sexless at older ages, doesn't that suggest women lose their libidos as they age so they don't feel the need to seek out sexual relationships? Anyway, I agree with your points but I don't see how women would end up more lonely as an aging cohort. For some women, it could be internalized misogyny, i.e. the types that are only after the bad boys. They think men who are dangerous and act dangerously are the only ones worth being intimate with, IDK. I would appreciate my partner creating a safe and secure environment for me but that's not the only precursor or factor in intimacy. It is a cornerstone of it, but proper planning and communication should also be involved. But yes, I agree with your post. I think this is the only way to faciliate…

I know 60 year olds who still look young these days. Not smoking, not drinking much, having a healthy diet, using sunscreen and practicing good skincare will make you look young AF. Pretty easy to dye gray hairs too. I am amused by men who complain about older women being ugly, as if they can judge a woman's age accurately every time. Men age poorly because most don't keep up with self-care as they age or don't get into good self-care habits early in life

Depends on what kind of porn is being (or is admitted to being) watched. Classy erotica with good production values, well-paid actors that isn't creepy? You have good taste and aren't a weirdo in my eyes. Weird fetish porn and I may judge depending on how it was produced (i.e. ethically or not) and if the fetish is creepy to me or not. And i think by then there may be a ‘flippening’ so to speak in women experiencing more loneliness this generation than men Very interesting viewpoint. Most women will be able to mitigate this isolation through relationships with family and friends, but I think what separates women from men in this regard is sex drive and testosterone. Testosterone makes men incredibly horny. Couple that with a lack of affection through life, which is an issue I think a lot of young men without relationships expe…

Most beautiful women, in my experience, are intelligent too. Usually to be beautiful you need to have resources and/or time to devote to beauty. Which nets you opportunities and privilege. Even if they are really stupid, they will luck into positions above smart people through looks alone. That's why all the attractive people are in top positions while plebs like me toil under them. Good to see this being discussed here. Car-centric zoning is definitely one of the biggest issues causing this. When women outnumber men? ...I'm guessing it wouldn't be as meaningful now since women are choosing to opt out of dating in higher numbers than men. Not really. I don't like how social media and dating apps are essentially replacing real life interactions with people in public. Shared community spaces are disappearing... and freely talking with strangers in a public space is sort of frowned upon. It's good that fewer women don't get hit on or harrassed anymore. But dating is now becoming relegated to online spaces more and more which is killing our face-to-face social skills. It's also killing our senses of compromise because of how selectiv…

I'm convinced the solution can only be better education outcomes for men and better income equality in general. In North America schooling seems to be failing male students. Lots of factors to unpack here, perhaps a lack of male teachers as role models being a huge one. We also need more male students on college campuses. Or better yet... just make it easier to, y'know, live on a minimum wage instead of having to get a college degree for a basic entry-level job that you can excel at with onsite …

I personally feel more men are out of touch with women, only because we historically haven't had access to a wealth of female perspectives until recently. In general, there are far more male voices and influence, even in women's spaces. Lots of men working high up in fields that affect women. Far more medical studies, for example, are carried out using male subjects. Females have always been an afterthought. I am surprised that the men in this sub think the opposite. Women's pain isn't taken as …

Sounds like the same changing standards of femininity are now being applied more visibly to masculinity? During WWII women in America were expected to contribute to the war effort by consuming less and participating in the labour force to help the war effort. When WWII ended, they were expected to return to being housewives and consuming more. Now men today have to deal with women as their equals yet they are still being held to this impossible standard of being super tough protectors by society…

Somewhere in the middle? Was never noticed by guys so I'm single. Now I feel I am too old to pursue motherhood, I don't want to be an older mother. I know women IRL who became moms at 40 successfully but there's no way that would work out for me. I also recognize that I'm way too immature with too much mental baggage to be able to raise kids effectively, on top of not having enough money anyway. I'm too involved in my hobbies to be a halfway decent mom. Also I am not interested in raising kids a…

I prefer a full head of hair, generally. I always associated baldness with oldness which I think is common in Western societies. But then I started consuming media from East and Southeast Asian countries. And a lot of handsome Buddhist monks, haha. I like a clean shaven face and a bald head esp. on an East or SE Asian face, but I think bald men will try to grow facial hair to bring attention away from the baldness. Too bad for me.

I'd appreciate the brutal honesty. If this happened in real life though, I would be taken aback because it would be my first time hearing someone complain about my body outside of my family, lol. If it was online or on a dating app, I would really feel bad, obviously, but not as bad compared to the former. Would I cry? Yeah... would I get mad at the guy? Maybe at the sudden delivery of a comment like that, but I'd ultimately understand where he was coming from. I'm an ugly woman so I wouldn't be…

Don't care about a man's height Only want my looksmatch, not looking for anyone out of my league Not interested in men paying for a date or going on dates for free food (WTF) Don't really care what a man does for work as long as he has stable income and can support himself. I don't need his wallet, I have my own. I need his companionship Won't ostracize him for his nerdy hobbies. Actually I would prefer it if I knew what you were into upfront. I want a guy who shares the same interests as me A c…

It's basically the difference between /r/AskMen and /r/AskWomen here on reddit. I get why AskWomen needs stronger moderation due to the gender imbalance on this site but I think it's rather heavy-handed at this point. That aside, I have been lurking on AskWomen and related female subs for years now and the moderation on those types of subs is super, super strict, sometimes for seemingly no reason. Within women's spaces online and offline, there is an extreme desire to be accommodating of people'…

Short men, chubby guys with some belly fat (skinny fat with a belly) and a baby face. Also, hairless men (except for the head) but that is quite rare. Guys with very quiet voices and a quiet demeanor overall. Basically, virgin. Not Chad. Haha. I like short chubby Asian men. I sort of had a crush on a super short Asian kid in middle school, he was shorter than me (I'm 5'3) and sadly he got bullied a lot for it. Really hope he is doing well wherever he is now

I think it's totally possible for me to find Person A attractive. In this age of beauty overstimulation it might be hard to do but it is doable. Also since we share the same values and get along, we would be willing to improve our appearances for each other based on mutual understanding. I really want to be with someone who has the same interests and values as me.

If North American cities were more walkable and not so car-dependent more kids would get socialized without their parents helicoptering them. Hopefully resulting in less obesity and more dating. North American workplace culture can be toxic like Japan's, and though the latter has excellent transit and walkability it seems to be behind NA in terms of personal freedoms... okay, maybe not so much with the abortion ruling and all 🤦‍♀️ TBF Japan suffers from a lost generation from the 90s that North …

I think you need to find and network yourself in the right nerd spaces. Joining coed meetups for your hobbies will help but another thing I've heard that works is being extremely detailed about your hobbies and interests in your OLD orofiles, if you have those. Almost everyone 30+ on OLD have very basic, cookie-cutter bios. You could distinguish yourself and meet someone by avoiding that. I think OLD is especially useful for nerds looking for other nerds... there's a good chance that anyone who …
