Even the people in the comments are like “you won’t even consider counseling?”

One has tried to worm his way back into my life. Even going so far as reaching out when I was vulnerable— our shared dog I kept passed away, and using that to re-establish a relationship. When I said no, if you need someone to talk to, talk to your girlfriend, he said “she’s actually in the room with me now, I’ll tell her you said hi.” Which made it even worse. When I dumped him he told me I was the one who got away. As if. The more recent one 100% resents me. I took a peek at his social media a…

Antidepressants.

I just think that when you’ve broken up (and you don’t share kids or property) everything that ever needed to be said was already said. So fuck it, block them. Closure comes from within.

I dated a guy from bumble for about 2 months. It went pretty well at first but then he started waving red flags. Only took him one month!! First thing that caught my attention was when we were eating Korean food and I asked him to try a vegetable. He said, “you’re lucky I’m trying this.” Why... am I lucky? Trying new things is part of being an adult. Second was when he asked me to do some couple-like stuff for Halloween. Like decorating cookies. I bought the stuff, we made the cookies and sat do…

I thought it was just nice to see other women do roughly what I did at the low point of my depression. And without judgement. No one really depicts it in media without the girl being a slutty party girl.

I knew a girl in college who slept like that! She had take out baskets of food in there with her sometimes. But I think she was depressed. I saw her years later and she was very nice and cheerful so I think she got better.

I remember reading that interview when doing a deep dive on why people loved him so much. I remember finishing reading it and feeling really proud of her for getting out. I hope she’s happier now.

Did we date the same person? My ex convinced me to go to therapy to save the relationship because he couldn’t handle my anxiety anymore— that he was fueling with his abuse. Session 3 she asked me to start talking about him. By session 5 she convinced me that he was actually the problem and it was never going to get better and that wasn’t my fault.

I heard about this on the BBC yesterday. Not only was he ordered to pay the fees— the broader public thought that the fees were too low! I was stunned by this reaction. So glad household work is finally getting the esteem it deserves. It’s not invaluable labor just because women traditionally did it.

I only realized I was so obsessed with the idea because I came from an abusive household. I wanted to make my own home that was the opposite of that. What I got was an almost identical repeat. Just today a girlfriend asked me if me and my new boyfriend would move in together in August when both of our separate leases were up. Hard no.

The other day my boyfriend came over to help me change a flat, get the spare filled with air when it was also flat, then followed me all the way to the tire place on his motorcycle to make sure I got there ok. The whole ordeal was unexpected and made us cancel our plans. When I apologized to him later he said he was happy to do it and that he had a great day because he got to ride his motorcycle when it was nice out. No screaming, yelling, or resentment. Just unbridled support. I’m cautiously op…

Boy is it hard sometimes, though. I’ve been pressured by my work for 2 years to say that the man who was fired for sexually harassing me and 3 other women didn’t actually sexually harass me. Every round of this thing I have to tell the whole story over. That’s what I get for standing up for myself. Reliving this over and over and over again. But I won’t back down.

Oh my! I started blocking every LVM that hits me up during quarantine but I didn’t see the connection between this sub and that action until now!

Towards the end of my last relationship I would feel so defeated when my ex cooked, he cooked these huge elaborate meals and wrecked the whole kitchen. I was working 40+ hours and studying for the Bar. So that and having to clean the whole kitchen. Again.

My current partner told me my shaving standards on my own body were up to me. He also stopped shaving his chest hair when I asked. Hope clouds observation, but. I really like him.

I recently had to block someone on 3 platforms. On the third platform I told him to take a hint and “block and move on.” He went off on me because he’d “never heard of such a thing” and I’m obviously self destructive and never contact him again. Ok.

Are the birks in there because guys dislike them? None of the men I’ve dated have ever liked them but... like why do they think I should care?

I think that’s what my therapist is trying to communicate to me when she tells me not to be so fixated on my weight. Thanks for your comment.

I would say I’ve been raped twice. Once violently. The other someone I was dating. Got me black out and pushed me into his room during a party. When I woke up I said that when he was having sex with me, the room was spinning. He told me not to say that because it made him feel bad. I’m ashamed because I let it happen again after the first time. What do I do with that knowledge? If I told a man these stories they’d probably justify their actions. Well, if I didn’t want to be violently raped, why …

It’s good to do a FaceTime date to see if they really look like their pictures before you waste time meeting up.

I think reading The Rules, going on antidepressants, and vowing to never get knocked around again by a man did it for me.

My ex doesn’t like me because I laughed at him when he broke up with me. I don’t like my ex because he choked me until I was unconscious.

The only thing I know for sure is that he’s still a woman-hurting alcoholic.
