I honestly don't get why everyone here insists on ignoring our potential to co-opt the perceived benefits of circumcision in the fight to end circumcision. The position of European authorities more closely aligns with the American "free to fail" attitude than the MRA "even a foreskin nick is literally indefensible" attitude. Their decision to stop recommending circumcision was not entirely 'evidence-based' (no law is). It was also influenced by politics, including the desire to not allow parents…

Do you have a source on the vast majority of FGM being the type that's analogous to male circumcision? It's pretty easy to find reliable sources that have the rates of Type 3 FGM at 20% overall (and up to 2/3 in some countries) but finding a male analog is proving a little more difficult. FGM seems to be worse from the perspective of intention and the sensitivity of the parts removed, but if you have knowledge to the contrary by all means, lay it on me.

First off, I apologize for my apparent lack of commitment to Sparkle Motion. I inferred from context that the comparison was between the current situation and FGM. I didn't realize the discussion had extended to the world at large. In the current situation the reasons were worlds apart from the reasons FGM is committed...like 1st world-3rd world apart. If it's all cultures and you're not actually concerned about a shortage then what's "the market of 'we need foreskins'"? Demand caused by news stories talking about 'foreskin cream'? cough And that's a terrible test for which is more important! You don't just get to say "well their pain doesn't matter, as long as they signed up for it!"

To your point, the cream is made from cultures of foreskin cells, not foreskin. Why would people want sanitized fresh foreskin in their health products? it is probably one of the most important. Uh...what? Are you trying to take a position on the subject or not? Would you rate consent as more or less important than deliberate removal of sexual sensation?
