Why wait for 50 votes? You have a pretty good writing style, there's no reason you shouldn't continue exposing it to the public (sort of), especially when you have legitimate things to tell. It's always funny with these type of FRs, since they always exhibit a "survivor bias" of sort. You don't see get to see the 10 or 100 failed approaches that came before. Always interesting to hear about them as well! Keep it up!

Actually, the quote is from the baboon jogging outside of Bojack's house. Otherwise correct!

Maybe it's been said before, but the book "Thinking Fast and Slow" is a must read with regards to this subject. Good work OP summarizing some of the most importants aspects of common biases.

Not necessarily true. There is some research showing that telling people about your goals, short to intermediate term wise, makes it easier to be held accountable (thus, making you complete your goals, or at least working to achieve them). It's not black and white regarding this subject.

What’s your take on bajahodies ?

I concur with this. I've seen so many friends get addicted to long open world singleplayer games or MMOs with much grinding. Fallen brothers is what I call them. They have simply checked out of reality cause they can't stand it. In many ways, videogames can be more addicting then certain drugs, IMO.

Having a core understanding of meditation and being able to exercise it on a daily basis will help you improve your different aspects of your life. May it be having a conversation, lifting weights, reducing anxiety, reading and so on... It's free, readily available for you and requires minimum effort and commitment (10-20 minutes a day to start with). Why not give it a shot?

Meditation should be just like lifting, a core part of your life. Starting with a few minutes a day and increasing up to 20 minutes is more then beneficent. I think you're summing it up pretty well. It doesn't really have to be complicated. Just sit on a chair and focus on your breath. I (a simple layman) would advise against guided meditation. It's like riding a bike with support wheels (IMO).

Cool post OP. This is easy and graspable. A way to becoming more present for almost anyone. It doesn't really need to be harder then this, yet so few people practive even the most basic forms of meditation. I do wonder though, have you heard about or tried Vipassana? Otherwise, I would advise you or anyone interested in meditation to look it up. I haven't tried it myself yet, but hopefully I will be able to contribute a report to this community after I've done it now in April.

This sounds alot like lucid dreaming. Are you sure you're not mixing those two concepts up? I'm in no way a teacher of meditation, but I do practice its most basic forms. But, I wonder in what capacity are you writing this? Also, even though proper meditation will help your mental health and in return your physical health, you should be cautious with claiming that "you can heal your body" with this. My reservations aside, I do think that this is a nice technique that should be given thought.

Taking ecstasy and quitting porn also helped me see things clearer with the RP glasses. Nice post

True, but unfortunately there were no furnitures in the room that made any sense for that purpose. Just a very large wardrobe that was impossible to move...

Was at large party, at a somewhat off location with about 40 or so horny college students that are all part of the same student union. It's common that people are laying with eachother left and right at gatherings like these, so I figured getting laid would be no problem. Hooked up with a hot (but usually) shy blonde and we got together into a room, which we couldn't lock... Was hoping for the best and praying for the worst. And of course, people come and go, open the door constantly, laughing, …

Went out together with a mixed group of close friends and acquaintances. Were focusing on having an awesome time with my friends foremost. We were dressed like white trash while the whole club was dressed up tight, which gave us lots of positive (and negative) attention. Hooked up with a girl at the end of the night who was obviously DTF. Met last minute resistance outside her house. Failed to cope with this and got needy. Lost her. Lesson learned: Peacocking with a group of friends is very effe…

I agree. Good work. You hit a few rocks during your time out but you didn't fall out to the curb. You retreated, (and with some help) marshalled your resources and was rewarded for it in the end. The majority of men would fail at your second critical moment, and would go home alone wondering just what happend... This also shows how important good friends are. You can lean on them for a short while and then get back steady on your feet. They will in turn know that they can do the same. I will def…

I don't really agree with this, but of course, there's alot of mubo jumbo to it. Still, the overall message is amazing and it did atleast help me turn my life into the right direction.

Well, I reckon it's a little bit different from what you've red, but you should really take a look at The Power of Now, by Eckart Tolle or similiar stuff. It seems like you've read many books on "outer" self improvement, which is good as well. But I would truly recommend trying som "inner" self improvement stuff. I think you need both. Which, depending on how you play it, really could work in your favor when you tell people or girls about it. "Yeah I started this inner journey..." in a sort of m…
