That's post-industrial revolution. It could be argued that women started agriculture as we know it, as they have historically been closer to the various plants compared to men. Women would plant seeds as they gathered knowing that in the future there would be more food.

Typically in these societies the women do planting, gathering and maintaining the fields while the men protect and harvest the high value items like cattle, houses and of course the most valuable commodity, Women.
