Ramble alert, these thoughts are not organized. I went to a lecture featuring architect Bryan McKay Lyons (something like that). One of the things he showed was a picture of two brothers working, one was handing a wrench to the other, but the brothers' positions within the photo bore a resemblance to that renaissance painting where God is reaching down to touch Adam's finger. That image has stuck with me ever since, and is first in line if I ever decide to get a tattoo. We don't keep our identit…

I found TRP through the Married Man Sex Life book. I don't post on here a lot because I see TRP as so general that it doesn't need a whole lot of revisiting. Plus, my wife is extremely involved in /r/redpillwomen so I keep up with it mostly through her at this point. TRP does a horrible job at marketing itself. In my marriage, it is mostly an extension of kink. There's no anger or grudges at this point. Though a very different community, you don't see /r/bdsm receiving the same flak. That's beca…

I agree with your take on TRP, but here's a slightly different way of putting it: TRP is about recovery. Grieving and injured men go there because it's a safe place where they don't need to worry about a women victim-blaming them or a who-has-it-worse pissing match. It is a place where all of the stages of grief can happen, including anger. Thus, in my mind, saying TRP is a hate-group is like saying a battered women's shelter is a hate-group. Both have unkind emotions toward the opposite sex in …

I already blew through that in one weekend while searching online for any Top Gear scraps I may have missed. Good stuff.

Top Gear gets away with it because they've been around so long. It seems like we are due for a new form of "Man Show." It's a potential gold mine, as long as they can get good writers and avoid compromise. Look at where Kimmel and Carolla are now.

What about decoy switches? It could take at least a few minutes for them to pull a few hundred foam lookalikes before they found the right one. not serious

It's extremely popular in India, so I'm guessing it will be fairly inexpensive.

There's a disconnect with equating photos of women to women. Photographers are artists. They are trained and paid to manipulate the eye and brain into eliciting a response. I don't think people should say "that's a beautiful woman", should say "that's a beautiful photo" because that's all it is. You could call it a portrait maybe, but it is as ridiculous to assume the objectivity of a photo as it would be to assume it of a painting. Neither the lad-mag nor the gossip-mag can be assumed to be obj…

I'm pretty darn excited for Vasalgel. You can get updates and help spread the word at their facebook page. It's coming, it's already been in India for about a decade, just a matter of time.

Here's a crazy idea: Mandatory 2 years of Jiu Jitsu (or similar low-strength combat) in highschool for female students only. Within 10 years, the physical superiority of males is all but removed, they will never have to be "defended" again.

Here's another line of reasoning I thought of recently: Ask "What would it take for your views to change or evolve?" If she says that nothing will change her views, let her know that she is no better than the dogmatic old fogeys she hates so much. If she says "I need an emotional story", either give her an honest emotional story, or let her know that her emotions will always trump yours, so that means of argument will always be ineffective. If she wants facts and cold logic, give that to her. Wh…

"People should be free to be what they want and act how they want, without criticism, you misogynist prick." It might be the wrong thing to do in a workplace environment, but I would let them know that the only way their opinions would be valuable to me would be if they made themselves valuable to me (respect must be earned, etc), and that the minute they use an argument more emotional than an excel spreadsheet, the respect is reset to zero.

Here's a tactic: Ask her to make it matter to you. Let her know that she has little to nothing to offer you, so her "predicament" is irrelevant to you. She (and women in general) want something from you, so in order to expect any results, she needs to come up with something that will motivate you (besides sex, be very clear about that). Let her know that insults and jeering from a stranger mean almost nothing to you, so results will never be gotten by those means. I've never used this argument, …

I said not one thing about you. I'll break down exactly what I meant: Woman (acquaintance) calls me a rapist in the heat of an argument that she feels she is losing. This strategy has silenced previous opponents of "debate" who don't want people to label them as a violent criminal. I (hypothetically) reply with "I will walk with you to the police station, and you will file a formal report." She sees where I'm going with this and knows I would reply with proof that I met this woman 15 minutes ago…

I don't think you understood what I wrote. Woman throw the word "rape" around more than "Nazi" or "Hitler." I am not a rapist for getting married and getting into traditional gender roles. I am not a rapist for enjoying rough sex with said wife (most times more for her benefit than mine). I am not a rapist for referring to my wife as "my woman." Women have called me "rapist" or "rapey" for all of these. My woman (who still carries the scars from the boxcutter used by one of her rapists) shares m…

I was mostly referring to instances of casual accusations of rape, usually sloppily thrown in as hyperbole for dramatic effect. My point was "If you are going to accuse me of something you know is untrue, even for dramatic effect, to maintain consistency you should follow through as though it was a genuine accusation. Otherwise, shut the fuck up."

... Making them rapists (by the logic of a few women with whom I have argued). This is some real circle-of-life shit.

I would have asked if she would report threats over text message to AT&T or the police. Asking a free service to expand into moderating, policing, and prosecuting, without increasing ads or charging fees is completely ridiculous.

It's as if women were a linebacker in a football team. They think the role of quarterback is more admirable, so they become a quarterback. They still admire quarterbacks, so they still want the other quarterback to keep his role, even though it is completely unnecessary and harmful to the team to have two people trying to do the exact same thing. And then they wonder why their lives are not fulfilling.

I like this move: ignore the interrupter, and say to the person you are speaking with (loudly enough so she hears even if she's talking) "Hey! I'm more interesting." A little silly, a little cheeky, but still sends a message and doesn't give her a scrap of attention.

If you copy-paste, fix the first "domestic" and work his last name in. Otherwise, it's pretty concise.

I have met some who provide references and remain respectful, so they do exist. The objectivists would say that it is rational for women to be feminists and for men to be MRA's. People should subscribe to whatever viewpoint has the best chance of protecting and bettering them. You don't usually see a self-loathing eugenicist [there is a perfect race, but I don't belong to it], so that is why I don't really understand most male feminists or female MRA's, unless they receive attention or accolades…

They were talking about glass ceilings, barriers to entry to carriers, and gender wage gaps. I referenced the counter study to the gender wage gap and that's where it started.

I usually want to see feminist research. I want to see a feminist canon. I want to understand it better, know its weak points, know its strong points. The discussion completely de-railed once it got to the subject of rape-culture. It seems like no matter what, every gender debate gets here pretty quickly. I asked what women wanted me to do about it as a man, since they were mainly just complaining about it without offering solutions or plans. I was told I would never be able to understand it, bu…

No, they present an opinion, I counter with a study, and then they say that the study is not valid. I am more than generous when arguing, as I said before. I try to establish civility and common ground and in return I am told I should seek professional help for my hatred of women.
