Research which successfull people have it. This will generate the realisation that you can still succeed in life with it. Cut out any bad habits that keep you stuck in a loop. Take your time with that part concentrate on one bad habit at a time. Then channel the hyperfocus into your career / work. Its not easy but can be done.

Remember media professionals are trained to get people in their emotions, media content is purposely triggering as emotions cause people to act so chances are if you see a triggering headline you click and read.
