I'd probably go with something more positive than laughing, but I get what you're saying: let it roll off my back.

I suppose its a bit like the whole Captain/1st Mate metaphor people like to use. I was in the military and I can see how watching your SSgt. breaking down would really rattle your nerves and if it kept up, make you wish you had someone else leading. Thanks for the insight.

I feel sorry for you, with that attitude. I've been married for 7 years, and would do it again. Then again, to each his own. Good luck.

She's actually been a good source of feedback and ideas. She knows she didn't marry a god, and I didn't marry someone who doesn't have any good ideas. Is there a way I could go about stating my problems that isn't detrimental to our relationship? What if I guided the conversation and let her contribute thoughts as a reward for listening or something?

You know what, we never really wrote down duties. We both work full time right now, but she cooks, does the bills, we both clean, I take the dogs out/feed them, she grooms them. If we make a list of who was expected tondo what, that would help in knowing who was slacking where, and help me keep us both accountable.

What are a couple of examples of agree and amplify? If we're having a calm conversation and she goes from fine to pissed in a blink and says something like "Fine. Have it your way. I don't care. You happy now" how would you handle that?

I think I am asking for her opinion when I already know what needs to be done. I also do talk down about myself after stressful days; she can be a comfort sometimes, but I can tell she can only keep a smile on her face so long.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
