I think the problem here is capitalism. When I think of the detriments of ambition I don't tie it to a person's genitalia or sexuality. But unfortunately right now the people running the country and environment into the ground are almost all men. So it's easy to blame an entire group for the actions of a small minority. I've dealt with many women in leadership. And I found that the ones leading nonprofits had a very different look on things than the ones leading for-profit companies. In fact one of those women is an executive at Amazon who I am very close to. And she has told me many times that she has had to put on a false masculine attitude just to not look weak in the eyes of the men she works with.

I think the key is that we need to stop letting women decide the narrative. That means calling out women for their bad behavior when men show emotions, and it means that men should be pickier about the women that they're with. For example if a woman laughed at me for being emotional that would be the end of things right there.
