The better question is, "why would you care if someone finds you 'repulsive' to begin with?". My goal if we're talking about flexing money or status for sex, is to insert my penis into a vagina, I don't care what whoever is attached to it thinks or feels about anything.

Yeah well the obvious problem is the weird cultural conditioning media has done to make women highly attracted to these pampered gayboi types instead of rugged men who actually work for a living, which represents like 95% of real life men. I doubt that throughout all of human history women were only attracted to pretty boys, given that pretty boys haven't existed for 99.999% of human history. Now to be fair the exact same could be said of men's expectations for women, because modern beauty stand…

A lot of women's lives revolve around their social life. They don't work shifts at factories and shit, they don't commute two hours to work, they don't do roofing in the hottest summer days, etc. They get paid to chill and gossip at offices then go to work meetings or travel for bullshit "project management" seminars or whatever nonsense, and they naturally associate with many people, building their social lives as they go. Some men do this too obviously but a lot of men work menial labour jobs …

Shit, I actually fully agree with this. I think part of it is also that people are pretty good at picking up on bullshit, so, even if you rehearse some decent "game", it's easy for a lot of women to tell when you're faking it. Genuine aloofness and confidence really comes across well, and I've had both in my life. At my lower points in life, faking it always came across wrong. It was either forced, or just ended up appearing to be spiteful and lame. At the high points in life, it was very easy b…

I think more specifically people don't WANT to understand each other, and imo this is largely due to our self-centered and basically narcissistic culture where people interpret every single thing as a direct projection or attack on themselves. "Well I can't acknowledge that person's views or problems because somehow that undermines me and my values and makes me feel bad!" Everything is framed regarding the individual and no one genuinely gives a shit about anyone else. Once in a while someone pe…

So your results with women haven't changed at all? When you were a frumpy short little piece of shit you were getting the same (0) women you're getting now that you're motivated, in shape, and earning good money? If you're not literally uglier than Jason Voorhees then you're definitely doing something dramatically wrong, or you really are mentally handicapped.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 03:50 AM

I think it's interesting to me that a lot of people talk about the economic issues with our current society, and how disengaged people are feeling because their work isn't paying enough or their job is meaningless or stupid or unnecessarily hard, etc. But, no one seems to want to analyze the social components of our current society, especially not from the male perspective. I suspect it's probably because women are actually doing pretty well overall compared to men. Women are happy being single …

Just a random hypothetical question: If you had to choose between a man who was borderline illiterate but was the most skilled and knowledgeable farmer in the world, vs a man who was well read and highly educated but got a degree in gender studies or some shit and was unemployed, which one would you pick?

It's all part of this desire to morph society into a system that almost exclusively caters to women's preferences. That's why you see so many women going into academics and out-earning younger men, because women are naturally better or more interested in these academic busywork settings whereas men want to do real shit with their hands, but all that work is being phased out, automated, or outsourced, so men have no choice but to fuck off and die, or become cucks to the academic and white collar …

I think the problem I have is that men are still largely duped into serving women and society as a whole while women have largely started checking out, or just gaming the entire system exclusively to their benefit. Women are just chilling in academia now or PMC busywork jobs while it's still overwhelmingly men who are doing all the hardest, shittiest, and most essential jobs, and my question for all of these men is; why?? What are you even working so hard for, anymore? I could understand labouri…

The assertion that long term relationships, getting married, and having kids does not benefit 50% of a highly social species should be such a staggeringly stupid claim to make, and yet here we are. Sometimes I wonder if modern westerners are even fundamentally human beings anymore.

I don't "have all the answers" but it's clear you want men's expression of problems to have some air of sophistication to them, some kind of deeper meaning or intrigue or be heartfelt and inspire some level of dramatic engagement from you. Basically you want them talking about their problems to engage or entertain you. It's all about you. The whole issue men have with expressing their problems is oftentimes the stuff that's on our mind is shit that women find annoying, offensive, or don't give a…

Your example about opening up about problems suggests that basically your desire is for the man to be melodramatic as fuck. It has little to do with a genuine desire for emotional engagement and more to do with you wanting the man to be interesting or entertaining. Ultimately the stuff you're clowning on is the types of problems and frustrations a lot of men are likely to experience in their day to day lives, not your ridiculous soapbox melodrama nonsense lol. Men obviously feel like they can't …

Some soft science garbage meant to reinforce the ultra-hedonistic, narcissistic, and consumerist nature that permeates the west and generates record profits for mega corps. So convenient the "science" aligns with the mindset that results in people mindless gorging themselves on food because we're "beautiful at any size!".

What if someone has done nothing to actually garner recognition or respect? This is why I'm always skeptical when people talk about this sort of thing, to me it's always a thinly veiled desire to just be validated for being yourself no matter how worthless or shitty you are. It's just a way to excuse any action whatsoever. "Well the science says just love me for who I am and that will magically motivate me to put in hard work to improve myself!" No it won't, it clearly doesn't. That's why this b…

The thing is those numbers are just statistics but they're not law, it's not like you literally have a 1/5 chance as if it's a casino game. You can influence your personal chances by not being worthless and by using strategies people talk about to improve yourself, if you do it properly, your chances will be far higher. The statistics only reflect stuff like 1/5 because a lot of people are too lazy or shitty to persist or do things correctly.

Japanese women will also straight up call each other fat and they don't tend to get as defensive about it. A big thing related to shame you're talking about, is that western culture is highly narcissistic and egotistical; everything is about the one person, the whole world exists to validate their existence. In Japan it's different, people respect the fact that they belong to a society that's greater than just them and if they're letting that society down by being fat or useless or criminals etc…

So what? A lot of western countries have similar issues plus are also fat as fuck and have high crime rates. Japan is way better in many ways. Not being perfect doesn't mean it's not significantly better.

They will unless they're fucking dumb as shit or something. You can't improve yourself and not notice an improvement in your life, lol. No one works out for 6 months and makes more money and then goes, "FUCK my life sucks now I should have stayed fat and broke!". The only way you could think that is if you're some ultra demoralized nihilistic weirdo who thinks sitting around expending no energy is a more desirable experience than accomplishing anything.

I disagree. When I was in my late 20's I had a good run of "self-improvement", lost a lot of weight, got some nice new clothes, built up a ton of confidence. I was able to date several decently attractive women (far more attractive than I'd had in the past) with relative ease. When you improve yourself you add a bunch of layers of things not only to your physical appearance, but to your personality and confidence that all help increase your success with women. You also build up a lot of mental r…

Seems like this OP can easily be responded to by referencing the Halo Effect. Also I think you're understating the lengths of "being nice" we're talking about, here. There's a big difference between a man being polite to a female coworker or something, or a truly platonic female friend, vs a man being extremely engaged with and overly accommodating towards a woman because he's attracted to her and hopes she feels the same towards him. It sounds like you don't believe being attracted to someone d…

I'm not talking about brokies, the whole premise of the thread is an "ugly" dude compensating with wealth, so the assumption is that they have enough money they can pay for dates or pay for hoes or whatever. My point simply being that even at the most bottom of the barrel male experience, money at least enables you to buy some time with a hot chick, and that experience alone is still better than most normal men will get.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 02:18 AM

Cheap? Bitch please, I'm not a broke loser like you. If I was I'd have to resort to simping and white knighting some washed up old hoe raging at men online.

The point is simply that even if you had to travel around the world looking for the literal one girl on Earth that actually is into you, if you're wealthy you could. I'm not saying that's literally what I personally do, just OP's entire logic hinges on this absurd hatred for old, "ugly" men who she desperately wants to believe have no chance with any women.

Apparently you can't.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 02:01 AM

And even in the case of a genuinely "ugly" dude, it still buys them access to a hot woman's vagina, which is still at least a more fun experience than 99% of men will ever have, whether it's "genuine" or not.

Oh look it's OP's little lapdog. I'll let you in on something you'll never experience in real life; when your dick is in a hot girl's pussy, it doesn't matter if she thinks you're as hot as the homoerotic male imagery you painted.

I think you're just taking the piss at this point, but on the off chance you're not I think you're drastically underestimating how many genuinely hot women exist even if they're not willing or able to "capitalize" on their looks. I mean I'm also not legitimately as rich as like movie stars or shit like that, I'm only "rich" compared to the average worker, so I'm still staying in my territory as well. If I was truly rich as fuck I'd go for the girls you're talking about.

Unattractive men should stop pursuing women and embrace the struggle The mask almost fully slipped there. What you really meant is, "Unattractive men should stop doing what I can't do, and embrace being a lonely loser forever so I can have company in my misery!"

I think a lot of people don't understand the numbers game men play. I could get rejected by literally 100 million women, as long as I get idk, 10+ hot women that are into me (for whatever reason, looks, money, my charming personality), that's a win. Too many women and redditor types think that 1 rejection = game over, go kill yourself. That's so stupid it's not even funny. When I say who gives a shit I'm not saying it's "not important" (whatever that even means, how is anything the OP said "important" in any way?), I'm saying there's nothing that can be done about it. An ugly man is an ugly man, nothing can change that. But an ugly rich man still gets hot women, and fat neckbeard brokies like you do not. Yeah what percentage of attractive women on Earth are bottle girls in Las Vegas, dude? Hahaha. Just go to some poor Eastern Euro country and wave a ten dollar bill around and you'll get 50 model level women on your dick in an instant. Right? This is the ultimate point; if you're legitimately unattractive to women due to physical appearance or age, there's nothing you can do to change that. OP clearly just wants "ugly" men to resign themselves to their fate and go die, or something, it's fuckin weird. She's obviously just jealous that she can do nothing to compensate for her quickly fading looks and hates that men can at least use money and status to score superficial pussy as they age.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 01:25 AM

Another component to it is that women tend to value experiences and a wealthier man can take more time off work, go on nice vacations with her, etc. I knew a very attractive woman who dumped her very attractive boyfriend because he had no time for her. Sure in an ideal world a woman will date a hot dude who's also nice and fun and rich etc but that's like the top 0.0001% of men. That's like me saying if I don't get the top 0.0001% of women I can't be genuinely attracted to any other women. Of co…

Based. This idiot OP acts like she speaks for all women. Even if she did like I mentioned before, it doesn't even matter. If a man is so ugly that no woman on Earth legitimately wants to be with him, and the only way he can get pussy is by paying, then fuck it, that's better than nothing. Like what is she actually trying to say? I'm 4'10" ackshually and I'm already "rich" by average people standards. I'm not Bezos rich by any stretch but who cares. I make more than enough money to not have to give a shit what reddit freakazoids think beyond killing time some evenings.

I think you're underestimating the difference adding 300-500 thousand dollars of income makes in lifestyle, even if the woman was earning 150K, which the vast majority of even hot women are not lol unless they live in a rich city in the US or something. Most of the attractive women I've met through online dating or social venues are lucky to be cracking 70-ish. And as far as literally paying women, sure, that's also an option and I never was opposed to that either.

The problem with your dumb argument is, first of all, I don't give a shit what a sex worker thinks, lmao. Why in the world would I give a flying fuck what a sex worker thinks? Secondly, let's say I really was so ugly that virtually no woman is attracted to me. If I was that ugly AND poor, I'd get ZERO pussy. If I'm ugly and rich, I get pussy. That's the simple calculation here. If I'm cursed with being old and/or ugly, there's nothing that can solve that problem. But, I can use money to compensa…

Then you just go travel around the world until you find one of the 3.5+ billion women on Earth who are genuinely attracted to you (and your money), and marry her. Not entirely true. Most women aren't earning like 300+ thousand dollars a year. My income dwarfs the average woman's to the point where her adding her income to mine is barely noticeable. So, her lifestyle is drastically improving dating/marrying me regardless of whatever she earns on her own.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 12:58 AM

Sure. I might look twice as bad as her but I'm 50X as rich. Besides I also don't give a shit about the women who aren't "lining up" to date wealthier older men, I care specifically about the women who are. I don't care if 5 million reddit women plebs don't care about wealth, I care about the hot women who have a weird fetish for money. That's what being rich let's you do; be selective as fuck. So it's conspiratorial to apply for a job and, before your very own eyes, not get that job due to DEI policies, but, it's not conspiratorial to believe that every big corporation is out to get you constantly? DEI absolutely makes it harder for working class people. The "owner class" has existed since the inception of capitalism, whether they make it harder or not is irrelevant to this discussion since they're a constant. DEI is a fairly new addition to the equation and absolutely makes it harder. Of course it had to be a competition. We live in a finite world with finite resources, and certainly in terms of the most desirable territory/resources. And we are extremely cooperative, working with other people all the time. It's just often that cooperation involves banding together and fighting an opposing "team" so that our team can be the one to secure whatever resources are in question, while the opposing team is trying to do the same thing. Exactly, and in my personal opinion 9 times out of 10 when a man is independently rejecting masculinity it's more of a sour grapes thing anyway. I rarely find a true "sigma" man who simply doesn't align with masculine ideals. Humility isn't necessarily submissive. A huge problem with modern culture is how narcissistic everyone is becoming. I agree that encouraging men to be obedient slaves is bad but on the same hand, encouraging men to be self-congratulatory and insufferable narcissists isn't great either. Bending a knee to ask a woman to marry you is a very endearing sign of love and humility and any decent woman would obviously appreciate the gesture, and reciprocate in her own way as well.

Good point. Also 9 times out of 10 when someone is encouraging a man to be more "masculine" they're just finding appealing ways to frame becoming a stronger and better person. A lot of men want their inner spirit reinvigorated and want strong male role models who encourage them to tap into what feels like natural instincts and desires, and run with them. The problem I have with this line of thinking is that too often "breaking free" of "restrictive" social norms is a thinly veiled excuse to basically just let yourself go and be a worthless loser. I would agree if by not being a traditional man you meant you're going to be some flamboyant, effeminate man who's into fashion design or whatever, but, honestly a lot of (typically gay) men have filled that niche for a long time and maybe they did face discrimination but at the same time they're often …

Not as big a difference as you might think. Couple of main reasons: First and most important, a lot of issues people want to talk about, even small things, add up and when you can't talk about them with the group you'd normally associate with, you start slowly but surely gravitating towards groups in which you can. If those groups happen to have more and more extremist views, you'll naturally warm up to, and maybe even share, those views, by virtue of the fact that these people are the only ones…

I used to have to attend mandatory DEI meetings, 20/21 people hired in the last training group I had were non-white women, and every meeting we had to prostrate and profess our white guilt over "stolen" native land. Ya they went too far. Sorry you can't see it.

There are so many studies showing how simply having a ‘white’ name gives you a greater chance of getting a callback & yet here we are, still acting like it’s not needed. How do you legislate or otherwise force people to give someone whose name on a resume is "Watermelondra DeSquarius" a job equal to someone named "Kate Smith"? Maybe just don't name your kids dumb shit.

They "counteract" it by making it harder for regular working class people not part of DEI-favouring groups. The entire idpol-left spent the last like 20 years ignoring the fact that poor, disadvantaged white men exist and it's finally just now biting them in the ass. The left should have stuck with class-first policies but instead decided to believe that 100% of white men are evil capitalist imperialist oppressors and now zomg so surprising most white men are rejecting leftism and embracing righ…

The right wing response to these issues was the "backlash". I don't agree with this argument because a lot of modern issues with dating stem from a culture that originated and is largely perpetuated by the PMC, which are a bourgeoise-adjacent component of the "working class" who are sheltered from most of the material/systemic issues you mention, even if they're not as rich and powerful as the true bourgeoise. It's not a "new" definition it's just a more useful and relevant one. The whole reason female promiscuity is stigmatized in the first place is because of women's position as gatekeepers of sex. Sex is a very strong motivator to have men behave in ways that women want, so if women are throwing themselves at men willy nilly, it undermines this dynamic, makes it harder for more sexually selective women to leverage sex and filter out unwanted behaviour in men. And regarding the frat parties and bars…

This argument simplifies the relationship dynamics and differences between men vs women in a fairly disingenuous way. You can say promiscuity "simply" means having many casual sexual relationships, but the how/why of it is more important than the core definition. The reality is that women are actually the ones responsible for male promiscuity, because they select partners. Women are effectively the "gatekeepers" of sex, so if a man is "promiscuous" it means he's highly attractive to many women i…

There isn't any direct research but all you'd have to do is figure out which demographic has more sexual partners on average, since that statistic is strongly correlated with infidelity. I think it's a safe assumption that liberals have more sexual partners than conservatives, so it's probably true that they cheat more. Generally liberals are hedonistic consumers all around, obsessed with vanity, buying products, having copious amounts of sex, etc. It's a mega-cope that liberals are somehow more…

It's kafka-trapping and demoralization. It primarily serves to force men to conform to a very rigid definition of "manliness" which invariably revolves around being a total subservient slave to women or feminist-leaning ideals. Any deviation from this is classed as "toxic masculinity" and rejected. You were right to abandon those spaces because ultimately they only have power over you through association.

I mean we should prolly just do that tbh because 9 times out of 10 it would probably be true. Women are some of the worst projectors ever. Not saying men don't project but women build their entire personalities around gaslighting and projection, because social manipulation is their main way of power-seeking.

The thing is, why would I care about the affects of male promiscuity? I'll never be in a romantic relationship with a man, so I don't care about their likelihood of divorce, infidelity, mental health, etc. Female promiscuity destroys a demographic I'm actually interested in, so of course I think it's bad. Besides, male promiscuity is a bit of an oxymoron anyway since promiscuity generally refers to thoughtless sex with strangers which only women can actually accomplish. Men who have sex with a l…

Native birth rates in developed countries are in the gutter. If giving birth is a woman's claim to fame, they're not even doing that anymore. Another big problem is that if a man confidently asserts himself in a way that stands up for his interests or otherwise undermines the desires of a woman, he's generally seen as threatening to the comfort and safety of women, a grave societal moral ill, which means he either has to embrace that role and become viewed as some kind of asshole, or he has to stifle his feelings in order to accommodate women.

Imo a big issue is that a lot of people including a lot of women don't understand that trait clustering is a thing, and they think they can finely select and cherry pick a perfectly desirable combination of traits in a partner when in reality there's usually a trade off. For example I've known women who are always ending up in abusive relationships because they're attracted to high octane, assertive, dominant men. Liberalism in general was largely a huge mistake. Most people are very low IQ hedonists and can't be trusted with a large degree of freedom. A lot of our culture's problems revolve heavily around the fact that narcissistic women have been given enough freedom to commodify every social interaction, degenerating social relations and making it so that you have to meta-game social media or other incredibly superficial forms of interaction to participate effectively. Single fatherhood isn’t an indicator of crime, behavioural problems, and poverty like single motherhood is. Fatherlessness is probably one of if not the biggest issues in society today. So if we had more single fathers on top of the single mothers we currently have it wouldn’t change much. But if we had single fathers replace the current single mothers society would improve drastically.

A birth can happen earlier depending on access to technology. In some countries, a premature birth may be unviable, whereas in others, it's a trivial matter. So the beginning of a person's life, morally speaking, is at least in some part dependent on what level of technology is accessible to them. The only consistent element is that the fetus/baby exits the woman's body. Is that alone enough moral justification to kill it?

Abortions are eugenic. The original intention of planned parenthood was to reduce the population of undesirables, namely blacks. I always find it kind of hilarious how much abortion is championed by western leftists. Most people who get abortions are poor and/or would-be single mothers, meaning the "evil" bourgeoise are not the ones eliminating their progeny, but the poor and working class.

You could just make the exact same reductive argument regarding humans as a whole or certain people. We're all just a "bunch of cells" in the end, even our consciousness is probably just a manifestation of emergent intelligence; just a bunch of complex biological processes that stem from chemical reactions and cells interacting with one another, nothing inherently special or worthy of moral value.

Men are saddled with the burdens and responsibilities of their decisions all the time. If a man gets a woman pregnant and she keeps it, he pays for it for 18 years. They'll date random men on random whims based on whatever nonsensical mood they're in, rarely even looking at them as long term prospects. It shouldn’t really be a big point of conversation though since 90+% of us are part of the same “class”. The only time I’ve ever experienced class being an issue is when an attractive woman tries to ascend out of the middle class by exclusively trying to date upper class men.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/24 06:39 PM

Even “actual” social skills are largely a product of superficiality because the halo effect does some extremely heavy lifting and creates a feedback loop where attractive people are constantly validated in everything they say and do which leads to them feeling calm and confident which then leads to more pro social and “charming” behaviour. Most people just don’t want to admit they live in a world where like 90% of your outcomes are determined purely by luck.

I guess it would help to know when the divorces actually happen, but honestly this leads into another topic where I personally think most women view marriages as more of a practical endeavour which often center around child rearing. Men have insecurities because they're scrutinized for everything they do, whereas women are validated in everything they do. When women are made to feel insecure, like for being overweight, for example, legions of women and simps jump in to support her and reinforce the idea that she's actually beautiful. Imo one of the biggest reasons is because leftists tend to be skeevy, underhanded assholes who only care about others performatively, but not in reality. The right wing at its core, basically states that the world is a shithole place and people are pieces of garbage, and the best way to combat this is to become wealthy, strong, powerful, etc. If you go super far right all the way to fascism, this is basically an integral component of the ideology; there is ALWAYS a fight around the corner, so it…

It seems like there's this weird bit of horseshoe theory that happens with red pill and blue pill brokies on this one. The red pill brokie side wants to believe that all these women who care about money/status are just gold digging harpies trying to scam you out of money. The blue pill brokies want to believe that women who go for money/status are just taking advantage of those men and aren't sexually attracted to them at all. Blue pill has the, "yeah she's with you for your money but she actual…

Sounds like you support class first (or even class only) discussion, which I also strongly agree with. I think identity politics in all its form, including and especially radical feminism, is a huge detriment to the class-based issues that affect and cause problems for the vast majority of people. Idpol is basically just a neoliberal approved outlet for people who aren’t happy with the system to channel their aggression and anger towards politically approved soft targets, like men and whites. Yeah but resources make sense too since you also need a lot of resources to successfully raise and care for children. It's a balancing act, ultimately. A woman wouldn't want to procreate with a broke giga chad because then their kids will just end up fatherless or homeless or both or worse. On the flip side, they don't want to procreate with some genetically defunct millionaire because then their kids will be regarded. Generally they'll prioritize resources over genes though, since material conc…

Women don’t share similar interests, all of my interests are heavily male dominated. I fly airplanes, scuba dive, shoot guns, train martial arts, etc. I’m not saying women are 100% absent in all of these activities they’re just very far and few between. And to make matters worse it’s rare I ever find a woman who is even mildly interested in hearing about or trying out any of those things even if they’re not super into them themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 09:26 PM

It’s because for women a lot of these hobbies are performative or just social time waster activities. I guess I should be fair and say that some art and craft stuff is nice but the other poster was talking about “Hobby Lobby” or whatever and I think it almost always boils down to some sort of trend or social activity at the heart of everything women do. Women rarely if ever just do things for the inherent enjoyment or accomplishment, they’re always doing them to fit in with some group or post ab…

Indeed. This thread is hyper-reality, tbh. The real problem is we're operating within the average redditor woman's definitions and interpretations of things like "hobbies" or whatever else which, while they may technically meet the definition, they're going to be obviously lame bullshit that only soys would think is fun or interesting. Like if I met a girl and she told me she's into crocheting I'd stop talking to her immediately. If a girl tells me she's into rock climbing, sailing, hunting, scu…

I guess I have to agree, we simply forget that incredibly lame bullshit still counts as "hobbies". When I thought of the word "hobby" I thought of things that are fun. And sure most people can't afford those expensive hobbies but my point is of the people who can, there is a much lower proportion of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 08:18 PM

I think the problem here is that we definitely were too forgiving and liberal with the definition of "hobbies". This whole argument needs to be reframed to specify hobbies that are interesting, fun, exciting, etc and not incredibly autistic.

Indeed, it's a good point. Most men max out their earning potential when they're young, so age won't really work in their favor as they'll just go from young and broke to old, ugly, and broke. But as you said, for professionals age does end up corresponding in some way to increased attraction since it takes them a long time to establish their career and start making big money. They go from young and broke to old, ugly, and well off.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 07:55 PM

Except "statusmaxxing" is real. Women want to be able to do cool stuff, wealthy men can enable cool stuff in exchange for sex/relationships. The only reason this dynamic isn't as commonly reflected in statistics is simply because most men of any age are brokies, so generally men don't really improve with age. But most men who "make it" do so a bit later in life since it takes so much time to establish wealth in the first place. So it is technically true that age for men doesn't automatically = h…

I think it makes sense from an evolutionary point of view. Men are generally "expendable" in terms of population which means they can afford to be more daring or self-sacrificing, as passing on their genes doesn't really rely on their survival after they've impregnated a woman (or several). Women, though, have to carry children for 9 months plus nurture and care for the baby for many years after it's born, which makes them far less expendable and far more motivated to care for their immediate ma…

I don't think women are individually responsible for this sort of thing, but I do think it is a societally-wide issue to completely neglect and trivialize the effect of modern radical liberalism/feminism on men's mental health and sense of purpose in society. Almost everything men do is to impress women. That's why the meme about men b…

Sure but I think the contention is with the bullshit you hear about how important "personality" is to women, which is obviously demonstrably not true. Yeah I get that reddit attracts every misfit and weirdo with some apocalyptic story but those aren't indicative of the average experience. Would be like comparing someone who's dad was deployed to an active warzone while the SAHM had to raise one perfect child. Obviously there's exceptions that drastically swing things to the extremes.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:37 AM

Ya well that's real sad for those women. I grew up with a SAHM and she had a good, fulfilling time while my dad slaved away working 12 hour shifts at a brutal factory full of asshole people which crushed his physical and mental health while my mom is still very healthy and in high spirits to this day.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:33 AM

Right? A lot of women here seem to think every man is working some cushy PMC job. Why don't we get SAHM's to swap places with truckers, railroad workers, factory workers, etc for a few weeks and then see how quick they're running back to their dishwashers.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:30 AM

The fact that a full time maid will run your entire household for like 30K a year at a professional level while these reddit suburbanite white bitches would bum off a dude making like 200K a year and act like they're hard done by, is absolutely hilarious to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:29 AM

Her break was the whole day she got to spend hanging out in her own house with her own kids while your dad was working at some company surrounded by people who didn't even care if he lived or died.

/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:25 AM

Yeah god forbid a man's wife actually wants to have sex with him, what a tall ask.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:24 AM

I think this is understated in general in that so many women are neurotic micromanagers and control freaks and probably cause 90% of their own stress and issues. If I was a SAHD I'd have everything done in like 20 mins and spend the rest of the day teaching my kids about the Roman Empire.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:24 AM

Somehow they think working + sharing half of the household duties is less difficult than not working and doing all the household duties.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:23 AM

Yeah it's crazy lol. Like someone else pointed out, SAHM is a very modern privilege, and even then only amongst the upper middle-upper class. I could support a SAHM relationship I think, probably comfortably but not like super luxuriously, and I'm in the top 5% of earners in my country. This idea that you're ackshually so hard done by as a SAHM is hilarious. A SAHM in 2024 is essentially a lottery winner.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:14 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:08 AM

Yeah and life as a working man also sucks if you fumble everything, fall down the stairs and break all your bones, everyone hates you, your boss fucks your wife, etc, lol. Like I'm sure being a stay at home parent is as apocalyptic for every parent on Earth as it apparently is for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:07 AM

It's not even about hardness in terms of difficulty or mental/emotional taxing, it's just more rewarding, too. My current job is approximately 20X harder and more stressful than my old job but it doesn't feel that way because I like it more. /r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:03 AM

the SAHP gets to dedicate their life to something they truly love: their family. The breadwinner also dedicates his life to his family, but only by spending his time working outside the home, likely in demanding conditions or dealing with asshole people, since his contributions need to be material as well as familial. The real failing when it comes to the happiness of SAHPs are weirdo misanthropes who equate homemaking or childrearing with some form of slavery. My mom was a SAHM for most of my c…

At that point why would you care what PPD or any man thinks? If you've gotten yourself deep in a shitty relationship then are you going to not get divorced because you're worried what anonymous strangers might think? And besides that, frankly I find it hard to believe women unknowingly end up with these men that don't "pull their weight". Like wtf did you even find attractive about them in the first place? Do you go to some no pussy having no bedroom cleaning no job having loser's house and be l…

Haha yeah good point actually, maybe the women I'm thinking of are actually the most insecure of all.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 01:47 AM

Yeah fair enough, there's definitely a limit. I think for me it comes down to a woman expressing a little vulnerability and lack of sureness once in a while. I don't like dating women who seem like nothing ever bothers them or gets them down.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 01:32 AM
1

Sure but many women roll the dice and do it anyway. The allure of easy money is too great.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 01:08 AM
1

Yeah but if you're in your 40s you didn't grow up in a generation poisoned by social media that inflated young women's egos to over 9000 and connected them with millions of simps willing to worship the ground they walk on.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 12:57 AM
1

Yeah but even if a woman is making like 60-100K, adding another 60-100K to the household, especially if it's in the form of some simp who basically just gives her all the money, makes a massive difference. When I went from around 60-70K to making 200+ it was like winning the lottery. Women can get that without needing to actually double their own income, all thanks to simps.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 12:55 AM

The struggle imo comes more from the fact that there's not many great women in their 30s or even late 20s in the West right now. If you're a high income earner you feel like you've "made it" and now should finally have access to these great, attractive women who were holding out for a successful guy. Nope, still all fatties :(.

Money probably isn't very important for just getting laid when you're young (unless you're super rich and/or have status to go with it, which girls would love since it means funner parties and more travelling). But yes as both men and women get older, start to settle down, and start focusing on practical things, money can become a major factor in dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 12:52 AM

Then they should marry those men and live a happy life chilling in a nice house.

Dealing with terminally unhappy women is also relentless and tedious, lol. My whole issue in this thread has been largely about women having no trouble gaining access to a man's income, which is often higher than hers, but cries the blues about some additional chores. Like really if I decidedly outearn the woman what's in it for me if I still have to do a bunch of housework? Also usually when you're in a serious relationship or married you would have to buy a bigger house. If a woman wants to mo…

Imo the only real bulletproof answer to this question is to simply never be vulnerable around women. Be vulnerable around your closest male friends. True bros will always have your back even at your lowest moments whereas women can be fickle if they sense any kind of weakness in you at all. Imo it's fair enough because I find the opposite is sort of true when I interact with women, in that I don't want them to be overly aggressive, masculine, stoic, etc. I like it when a woman opens up and seems…

Gotta sweep for mines. You don't have to disclose your most vulnerable things to a woman you're just getting to know. Test the waters with something less meaningful and if she reacts bad you can assume she won't be supportive for more important things.

Idk, I kind of like SOME insecurity in a woman. Or maybe more accurately I prefer a woman who is less sure of herself vs overly sure of herself. Extremely overinflated egos is something I hate in women/people in general so maybe it's just an overcorrection. But I find some insecurity/vulnerability attractive because it means I also don't have to be perfect.

Haha I have plenty of money. But it's not as overt as just gold diggers. If all women were straight up and honest about it I wouldn't have an issue, also gold diggers tend to understand the transactional nature of the relationship whereas "normal" women insidiously try to benefit as much from the money as possible while still having tons of demands.

Yeah I guess that's true but it also implies that being mistreated or meeting bad people is some kind of comeuppance for being a bad person yourself, which is basically the just world fallacy. I guess that's true. I mean I'm single right now largely due to that reason. Well I don't want to doxx myself but they make a lot where I live. But even with that said, someone else here mentioned maybe my ideal relationship is a SAHM or at least a woman who works part time or a very easy job. Honestly that's probably true. Yeah but what happened to valuing the mental load or whatever else is being discussed in this thread? I'm just saying that if a man is significantly out earning the woman I don't see it as unfair for her to do a disproportionate amount of household chores. If the incomes and financial contributions are equalized then sure, I can agree with the sentiment that it's not fair.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 08:08 PM
1

If I married a fellow controller (hard ask, not many women in the field but I would if able), I doubt she'd be doing a disproportionate amount of household work. But, it's also not a very easy comparison to analyze because if I married another controller in my current position and salary level we'd be pulling probably half a mil a year so, I'm sure neither of us would be doing many chores.

They're probably taking full advantage of the man's hard work in the relationship, too. There's also a reason women love going into academia or PMC-type jobs; they really hate doing real work. All of the work they do or claim to do is made up nonsense. /r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 07:50 PM

Idk, ask the ones that do? Women act like they're enslaved by men and can't just say no or end a relationship. Maybe the reality is that women neurotically micromanage a household due to their own desire for control and not just because the man is "lazy" or incapable? I find the helicopter mom dynamic is far more common than helicopter dad.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 07:47 PM

It's weird you don't see more of them in fields like air traffic control where these elite decision making and management skills could be put to good use, lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 07:41 PM

More than most. And even if we made the same or even if they made more, together we could double the household income and be millionaires lol. No, it's not that everyone should agree with me, it's that reasonably consistent markers of health, good character, and aesthetic appeal should be the STANDARD for attractiveness. I have no problem with people with non-conventional standards of attraction, they just shouldn't be the norm like they are becoming now. Sure, it could be argued that. But my ideas for physical attractiveness stem from markers of things like good health, physical fitness, some level of discipline/impulse control, etc, all of which are fairly objectively good things. There will always be people who just disagree for the sake of disagreeing but you'd be hard pressed to argue that conventionally attractive women aren't usually desirable beyond just pure aesthetics (better mental/physical health, better fertility, etc).

Lol, so true. I've found it pretty hard to find women who actually have very interesting or adventurous hobbies, although I'm sure the same could be said for most men as well. Only problem is when you go to a lot of spaces dedicated to these kinds of things, you don't typically find a lot of women, or the ones that are there aren't necessarily single/interested in dating.

I think a lot of men are motivated by what they’re able to do for women/society/their family/etc. without those things you’d basically just be working hard to make more money to spend on hedonistic consumptions which is fun for a while but eventually the novelty wears off.

Financial stability and disposable income alone is a huge draw. It blows me away that some redditors believe women wouldn’t love to marry a man that basically doubles or triples the household income. Nah actually women don’t like living in nice houses or going on nice trips 🤣
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 02:56 PM

Except this barely ever happens. Young, attractive women are extremely high value, they’re not typically going to date or marry a loser. I might agree with you if we’re literally talking about like 16-18 year olds but I think that’s disingenuous. When older men say they want a younger woman they usually mean like 25 years old. A mentally/emotionally adult woman but who is still at her physical prime.

Horniness dies down eventually in both men and women anyway. People here talk like women are always going to be thinking like horny 20 year olds. Obviously wealthy men are a far more attractive overall option as partners because of their ability to provide stability and luxury. It’s such a simple concept you have to be on some giga tier copium to deny it.

Sure, I agree. I’m all about passport broing strictly for the numbers advantage alone, irrespective of any other factor.

Depending on your standards for women it’s also basically just pay to win. Say you prefer thin, feminine women who have more conservative personalities. That’s like 5% of the female population of Canada or USA but like 30-50% of the female population in any number of eastern countries. And if you live in a smaller country like Canada you can go to a country like Japan, China, or Korea where the total number of women is also many times higher than back home, giving you an inherent odds advantage …
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 08:00 PM

Pair bonding isn’t a load of crap. Humans have the longest gestation period and longest childhood development stage of, if I’m not wrong, literally any animal on earth. It makes absolutely no sense from a practical standpoint to have anything other than pair bonded relationships unless you substitute it for some sort of communal child rearing which I suppose also works but, imo is still far closer to pair bonding than the alternatives.

Sometimes women will "share" chads vs actually settle down and commit to a sub-chad. There's a reason why women are having way more sex than men even though we're both 50% of the population; because a small group of men are sleeping with a large group of women. This is part of that power dynamic you originally mentioned. It's not always men wanting power in terms of dominance and control, it's also just power in terms of being able to command and hold the attention and desire of a woman without …

Women don't always marry "Chad" though. Chads are like 5% of the male population, they're usually casual flings.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 11:23 PM

A lot of times, for sure. Usually a man will genuinely enjoy the company of the woman for who/what she is, often connected to her beauty or kindness. Women don't often view men this way and instead look at them from a more practical standpoint. So if the woman makes a lot of money it's a lot easier for them to just drop a man at the first sign of something not going perfectly.

on the flip side: the higher a woman's income, the less she values a man in any meaningful way.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 10:33 PM

Imo if women want to be equal they should just simply be equal. Being equal means sometimes not getting your way, it means getting treated poorly, it means competing with others and losing, etc. A lot of women want society to accommodate their wants and needs out of an inherent sense of worth, but those things usually come with tradeoffs. Children are a good example: we protect children and don't hold them as accountable for their actions, but the consequence is they have less autonomy. Women in…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 04:48 PM

Imo the true underlying issue that can be connected to a lot of problems like this whole gender or culture war is basically the lack of community-oriented goals. People are becoming extremely atomized individuals who give absolutely no shit about anyone else or about society as a whole. Radfem is a component of this but plenty of men are also guilty of the same sort of bullshit, it's just that things like radfem/idpol tend to hyper-focus on atomization by splintering everyone into sub-groups and…

Just equal to me in most meaningful/measurable ways. Similar level of physical attraction, similar education, similar income level, etc. Most of the women I've met that fit this criteria are either already married or not interested in me (usually because they're interested in a higher status or more attractive man). Before you immediately use that as an opportunity to say, "they're just not interested in you because you're a piece of shit", I get plenty of interest from women "below" these stand…

Sure, and society could easily decide, if it wanted to, that biology shouldn't serve as the exclusive basis for matching people for relationships. Society can pretty much decide anything it wants, there's no "rule" on what it can and can't do.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 03:14 AM

You're just appealing to direct observations of facts, what's known as the "is-ought fallacy". Just because something is one way doesn't mean it inherently implies a directive to go with it. Your initial premise was that shit's not fair, biology. That logic can easily be applied to many things. You haven't provided a meaningful or compelling argument as to why we should societally override men's biological inclinations to physically dominate/control women, but not women's biological inclinations…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 03:06 AM

Even if it is "looks/personality", it's again based on the fact that they're a high value woman who is being ultra-selective lol. For some reason people on this sub just refuse to accept the fact that women have extremely high standards and go for higher value men. Why is that such a hard concept to acknowledge? Women generally are happier single than in relationships so what motivation would they ever have to settle? They have every reason to approach dating in an "all or nothing" fashion.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 03:02 AM

All it takes is five seconds of thought to understand the point I was making. Let's take a hypothetical man who is reasonably physically attractive and makes 200K a year. Now imagine a woman who is reasonably physically attractive and makes 200K a year. Do you honestly think on average that woman is perfectly willing to match with that man? Even just using your own statement regarding not-fat men being 20% or less of society, think about how few women have standards for men that are exclusively …

/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 02:47 AM

Imo it's way higher. I honestly think the number of women who genuinely enjoy the company of men is less than like 10% of all women. For the vast majority of women, men exist purely to satisfy their sexual and/or material needs. The vast majority of women would be more than happy just being single or having a pet vs dating men. Just look at the statistics and the science, it supports this notion: women are happier single than in relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 02:43 AM

Anything that's wrong must be wrong. Nothing you've said contradicts the point that applying any standards to women immediately results in you having to seek out the top 10-20% of women. The fact that women also have to do the same thing isn't anywhere near a refutation of this point and was in fact part of my argument in that women are EVEN MORE selective towards men, lol. Like what point did you even think you were making with that?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 02:36 AM
0

Yeah it's easy to dismiss because as you immediately demonstrated, it's all founded on trash argumentation like 'the same applies for women seeking "not overweight men"' which is completely irrelevant to everything I'm talking about. I literally already point out the fact that most women are vying for, in my words, "the top 5% of men", as part of MY argument lmao. You pointing out women are limited to 20% of men is just repeating exactly what I was already saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 02:33 AM

Yes men pursue those standards but they're constantly being challenged by the current culture.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 02:31 AM

I'm against both capitalism and bootstrapping mentality applied to dating so, at least I try to be somewhat ideologically consistent.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 02:24 AM

Any data that suggests that is obviously skewed or misrepresenting things. Just having the simple standard of "not overweight" limits you to 20% of women only in Canada/USA. Add literally any other standard aside from that and you're already sub-20% of the female population, lol. This is part of the problem: that the "top tier" of women are basically women held to remotely any standards whatsoever. And what do you even mean "unsuccessful"? Unsuccessful at finding a good woman? Yeah, obviously. T…

It's not ridiculous, this whole mindset is obviously a facet of rampant individualism wherein every person only cares about their own immediate desires with no regard for any overarching impacts to society as a whole. And modern feminism has existed almost exclusively to fight against "gender norms" and "toxic masculinity" which largely composes men's "standards" like desiring young women, not fat women, feminine/submissive women, etc, so don't act like men are "completely free to act on their s…

The only thing on that list that disproportionately affected women is childbirth deaths which, like sure but you'll have to take that one up with god lol. It's not like men forced women to die in childbirth. Everything else easily applied to most men. You think peasant men owned land or held positions of power? Wealthy aristocratic women did hold power, even if it was less than men or less often. Class structures have always had a way higher impact on material outcomes than shit like gender/sex.…

A lot of that will overlap. It's not like some average joe or brokie is going to be in a high value woman's 10% unless she has some insanely niche interests that he happens to fulfill. I think we all like to think we have such unique interests but the reality is humans as a whole are pretty predictable. And yes it is a struggle for men and women but it's a struggle for women because they'll only settle for the best possible man, and it's a struggle for men because we're often not that man. Women…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 01:56 AM

Imo this dynamic would force women to have reasonable standards. One of the main reasons women have insane standards for relationships is because they can easily have sex at any time. So, they basically get the best of both worlds: they can wait for the perfect man to date or marry, while simultaneously satisfying all of their sexual urges with easily accessible casual sex. Men don't typically have this option. For many, probably most, men, the only reliable way to have sex is to date seriously.…

I agree in principle but I honestly just find the effort it takes to be demoralizing at this point. It's sad how impossible it gets the second you develop even a hint of a standard for anything. I had most of my best luck passport-broing tbh because at the absolute very least you could reliably find a not-overweight woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 01:46 AM

It was also biology when men used physical superiority to subjugate women and prevent them from having equal rights. Shouldn't the feminists of the time just accepted that and been happy about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 01:30 AM

Lol no they weren't. 99% of men and women were both treated like disposable cattle for most of history. Only major difference is men were far more immediately disposable, as in being sent to die in wars, than women.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 01:29 AM
1

All that shit happened to 99% of men, too. Men were enslaved, sent to war, etc. Only the top 1% elite men ever had real power and autonomy for the vast majority of human history, and probably around 0.5% of women did, too. All these radfem identity politics talking points are worthless compared to class issues, unless you think the Queen of England was oppressed by some male peasant lmao.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 01:28 AM

No chance. Even chimps are hierarchical/patriarchal. Primitive humans just didn't have as blatantly structured or institutionalized roles so it might not be as obvious, but if you think men and women did/do the exact same things in H&G tribes you're deluded as fuck.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 01:26 AM

Classic radfem tbh. If men are succeeding in any way it's toxic masculinity, patriarchy, capitalism, etc and must be destroyed. If women are succeeding in any way it's because women are hardworking kweens getting everything they deserve.

Because anyone who isn't a purely narcissistic individualist would try to analyze how these dynamics affect society as a whole, and if they're healthy or not. My biggest frustration is the lack of decent women. So many men are so desperately scrambling for table scraps it's skewed this whole idea of dating to make it sound like all men who are struggling with women are simply not getting any dates at all. It's because you have standards. It's easy for any above average man to get a girlfriend. It's not easy to get one who is even remotely close to your equal.

What even is "not boring" to you? Every time I hear/see a woman say this sort of thing it's never actually mentioned what constitutes "great personalities" in the eyes of women. /r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 12:58 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 12:50 AM

It's not actually true. The reason men like this have trouble with women is because they have actual standards. Techbros literally get married all the time lol. The thing is, like 80-90% of women in this thread, the vast majority of women with high standards are not very attractive, interesting,…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 12:45 AM

Answer: Because 80% of the women in this country are fat, lol. If you have any physical standards whatsoever you're already eliminating that many women and are now competing for the top probably 10-15% of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 12:42 AM

It doesn't actually happen, this is a brokie giga-cope. Everyone loves the underdog fantasy that they can pull some ultra hot, smart, successful girl just by being "fun" or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 12:39 AM

Actually he probably wasn't psycho enough. Ted Bundy allegedly received hundreds of love letters in prison.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 12:38 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 12:32 AM

It was but it's not like social venues are very reliable or even accessible anymore. Went bar hopping with a few friends not long ago and every place we went to was either dead or was very closed off (like everyone was at private tables, no mingling, etc). Sure it's one anecdote but you can't tell me people are as social now post-pandemic as they were in the past.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 12:30 AM

A lot of social activities are basically dead these days, too. I was at one of this area's more half decent bars a few weeks ago on a saturday night and it was me and three other dudes in the entire place. I know there are still some active locations but generally speaking things have fucking died, especially after the pandemic.

Men generally have to date down. The reason "Jake" is having issues is because he's expecting to meet a woman that matches his total "value" in terms of all categories: looks, success, being interesting, etc. Unfortunately that's not how it works. Absolutely, they're all mostly overweight, effeminate weaklings. But this is all a product of modern feminism and neoliberalism. Traditionally masculine men aren't encouraging other men to become vapid consumers and losers. It's probably 20% of men doing anything at all, and maybe 1% of women.

I think that's exclusive to the elites now. The average women reward docility and obedience over dominance and status. Women want to be in charge, they don't want men like that anymore.

I think your argument is sound, and I think the classic chimpanzee vs bonobo dynamic is relevant here: Chimpanzees are patriarchal, and also routinely engage in violent competition. Females are largely subordinate to males, often due to violence. Bonobos are matriarchal, and the females control male behavior with access to sex. The physical strength differences between sexes are far less pronounced, and male bonobos are generally far more docile/submissive than chimpanzees. Imo in the past we mo…

It's probably largely because the elites of society are pretty much in league with this stuff since it's highly profitable for them to have women part of the PMC with high purchasing power (since women are rampant consumers). I’ve noticed this is basically a response most women have, which can be summed up as “not my problem lol”. I guess I always feel burned by this attitude because financially I’m easily in a “got mine, fuck you” position yet I try to sympathize with those less fortunate and support leftist ideals of wealth redistribution etc. but interacting with your average western woman, it’s pretty hard to justify caring about people that give absolutely zero shits about equality or general well being as long …

Yeah, exactly. The fact that you dipped out of that instantly shows you inherently know what’s wrong with irrationally fearing a group of people. You only excused it before because “men” in general are a politically approved target for bigotry, whereas “black men” are not.

You’re not understanding the dynamic. Being “picky” is only possible when you have an over abundance of choices. Starving people aren’t picky about food, rich people who can eat any food in the world are. Same sort of dynamic. Your pickiness is enabled artificially by easy access to thousands and thousands of men, driving up the standards. This is the exact same dynamic that makes it so hard to get a decent paying job these days (globalized economy = higher competition for jobs = lower pay and/o…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:49 PM

That logic doesn’t really track, given that women having access to tons of men just means they can be far pickier. If you had limited options you’d have to have more reasonable expectations. Also men looking at themselves as the problem has led to things like RP/hustler culture where men are trying to optimize looks, wealth and status to make themselves attractive to women, which a lot of women also reject as “toxic masculinity”. So really, what do women actually want from men?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 06:45 PM

I wasn’t aware that women watching tv had the same effect as women having access to thousands of men easily through social media. It’s just funny to me that this line of thinking would never be used, especially on Reddit, for anything else. No one will bat an eyelash if someone says the current gen is being screwed economically vs the boomers and has it much harder. But say one thing about dating being a bit harder and it’s bootstraps all the way down.

Stay at home motherhood is sort of an anomaly itself anyway. In the past women still typically did some work, like crafting or whatever. It all just stems from engagement with community goals, which is majorly lacking in our modern societies.

I think it’s best when everyone is reliant on everyone in a way. All contributions towards unified goals. Whether you’re working at home or in a field or in a mine it’s a contribution towards the greater good and meaningful. Though I understand how it wasn’t/isn’t always framed that way.

I think men suffer from lack of direction and end up aimlessly consuming trash material more often (like porn) than women. But, women are a major consumer base now, and that trend is growing.

Fully agree. I blame neoliberalism primarily though. I think post-war was somewhat reasonable, although maybe that’s really where all of this started. Post war 50s still had a lot of collective-oriented mindsets when it came to things like rationing and regulations. The 80s is where individualism really took off and went off the rails entirely, imo.

I agree mostly actually. But I do think people tend to overvalue and overestimate their “individual” nature and desires. When you really boil down what most people are doing with “freedom” in individualistic countries with high degrees of social mobility and egalitarianism, what do you actually see people doing? Imo it’s mostly pursuits of extremely frivolous or hedonistic goals. Usually just numbing the pain with mindless indulgences. I think societal structure creates purpose for people that e…

My comment is about how beneficial support roles are. I never said they’re beneficial for just making men sit around feeling good. They’re beneficial because men are the movers and shakers of society and they need to be adequately motivated/supportive for us to benefit from that role. Again, when men are called to war they’re not “happy” about it. But if women support them in that endeavor they can succeed at doing it. Things like “gender roles” are often framed as some power structure that excl…

Sure, a combination of all of these factors is natural. But patriarchal structure isn’t inherently antisocial. Chimpanzees and Romans still have/had “antisocial” behaviors that are rejected, even though there are some aggressive or violent behaviors that are/were condoned. The thing is, if these patriarchal tendencies stemmed from human nature, then to subvert them probably comes at a cost in other ways. You can’t have something for nothing. Maybe changing away from patriarchal societies would m…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 12:29 AM

No that’s exactly what I’m saying. Patriarchal structures didn’t come about due to modern culture, they’ve been around arguably forever. So, aren’t they a naturally occurring phenomenon? Similar to how chimpanzees are highly patriarchal.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 12:16 AM
-2

None of it is about what people “want”. Men are called upon to do extreme things for society, often dangerous things like fighting wars. No man is “happy” to go to war. But they can accomplish it with the help of supportive women. So you might say you don’t want men to be the direct action, drivers of society, but I highly doubt most women would actually want that responsibility. If you’re not happy being in support roles how would you be happy working in remote environments or being deployed to…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 12:14 AM

Yeah I understand all these modern day dynamics, but what I’m trying to get at is how did these structures manifest in the first place? Modern society has only existed for like 100-200 years arguably, but these “patriarchal” power dynamics have existed for thousands.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 12:09 AM

I agree but the dating “market”, much like the job market, is inflated. Remember how your dad could pay for school working part time and now you need to work three jobs to barely afford an education? Attracting women has similarly inflated to obnoxious levels of difficulty for the average person.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 12:03 AM
8

It’s one thing to acknowledge that men are more dangerous than women. If the choice was “would you rather run into a man or woman in the woods?” No one would bat an eyelash if/when most women chose “woman”. It becomes misandrist and antisocial when you say your fear of dangerous men leads you to choose a far more dangerous and powerful monstrous animal.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 12:01 AM
1

Exactly. I actually feel like this delusion happens on both ends of the spectrum. You have moneycels thinking they can compensate for being ugly or shitty by having money, and then you have brokecels thinking they’re going to get attractive, successful women if they’re good looking or have a good personality. The reality is you need a combo of both.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 11:54 PM
2

You’re either not rich or you don’t know what you’re doing, then. Having wealth unlocks an entirely new class of women. Do you think wealthy or successful women are dating men who work at Starbucks? You need to meet women at your status level or just slightly under.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 11:51 PM
-2

The problem is that radfem convinced women that support roles are somehow “inferior” to primary roles. To be fair a lot of under appreciation of women contributed and lent legitimacy to this as well. But, when women are in support roles they inspire, motivate, and help men heal to the point they’re capable of doing great things. Men are largely externally motivated, so when we feel loved and supported by a kind and feminine woman it can inspire us to move mountains.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 11:44 PM

Sure, and how are men capable of deploying those things? Why can’t/couldn’t women just stop them?

It’s interesting to me how seemingly everyone but traditionally masculine men get to decide and define what masculinity is, haha. I guess there’s no perfect definition, but part of that is because masculinity as a concept has been obfuscated to the point it’s almost a meaningless term. Living in a culture that’s obviously trying to demoralize and feminize men, this is no doubt intentional.

Good way of putting it. For myself I also don’t like competing with a girlfriend. I’m usually pretty decisive, it can create conflict having a gf who is the same way. If I have a gf who is just happy to go with my flow, that’s great. The key is that she’s happy to do so, don’t want some sort of scared Stockholm’d girl lol which is probably the imagery radfems try to invoke when we talk about stuff like this. The real reason is because most men aren’t brazenly misogynistic and would chose the woman because it’s the pro-social choice. Men committing crime is like the side effects of a life saving medicine. Men are generally more aggressive risk takers, which often manifests itself in great ways that have helped society become what it is today, with things like exploring, inventing, starting new businesses, winning wars, etc. Unfortunately sometimes these aggressive risk taking tendencies manifest in antisocial ways such as committing crimes. Lol you get constantly "approached" by women so you're either lying or in the top probably 1-5% of men in terms of physical attraction. Either way, that makes it impossible for you to understand why someone would do what the other guy said. SAHM shouldn’t be feared in and of itself, it’s the class/material dynamics in our society that make it bad. I had a SAHM and since my parents were good people and my dad made good money everything worked out perfectly. It’s a material concern tied in large part to capitalism. Under neoliberalism/capitalism the “provider” has control of the money and therefore control over capital/resources/whatever. This inherently puts them in a power position relative to the non-provider which is one big reason women are so afraid of SAHM arrangements and other shit like that these days. Imo the real issue is how "unnatural" something looks. Bodybuilding takes a lot of hard work but the end result is very freakish aesthetically. When you look at the athletic/muscular body types women are typically interested in, they still look normal and functional. It works the same way with women as well, which is why the ultra botox, giant fake balloon titty pornstars aren't very commonly considered attractive outside of niches.

Not to mention the complaints women have regarding aggressive social behavior or catcalling are very close to the same "type" of issue men have regarding women being emotionally abusive or manipulative. It’s not about predator vs prey the idea is that men have to chase women because women are more passive and selective when it comes to dating, probably due to the fact that getting pregnant is a big deal for women so they’re more reserved and careful. By necessity men have to be assertive or else both would be passive and nothing would happen.

I think the real underlying point is that yes sure men don’t exclusively do absolutely every single thing in life to get pussy, but the herbivore men thing shows that probably a lot of men’s higher level motivations come from the desire to attract women, else they just settle for ultra minimalism. You don’t see a lot of ultra minimalism in women, even those who have no interest in relationships.

I don’t like the idea of a contract that can be broken for any reason, especially one that could cost someone a great deal of their material wealth. Poor conservative countries tend to have more strictly enforced monogamy and higher birthrates. Developed liberal countries have essentially opted out of that dynamic because we can just mass import foreign workers to fill jobs or whatever. Fighting a bf is probably a bad idea because bf's are simpy idiots who will let their gf win and give her a major false sense of confidence. Every bf should wrestle their gf at 100% force at least once (not to hurt her just to demonstrate the true difference), then go back to letting her win only after she really knows the reality. The thing is, it's true in the sense that typically men WANT women more than the other way around. Studies show men tend to be happier in relationships whereas women tend to be happier single. We all know the stereotypical arrangement is the men desperately and hopelessly chasing after women, and the women being particular, reserved, stand offish, rejecting them, etc. That exists for a reason.

Most high level successful people just fake humility because it's what appeals to the masses, especially on TV. Most of the high value men women are attracted to are actually very much "assholes" in some way. Asshole-type behaviour is typically necessary to ascend to the level required to be so sought after by so many women. Women aren't interested in some timid nice guy who goes around helping old ladies cross the street, they want a masculine man who competes in various things and wins. It's r…

To some degree I think this is true, but not necessarily because they're attracted to "assholes". Many, possibly most, women are attracted to strong masculine traits like assertiveness, ambition, confidence, physicality, etc. There is a lot of overlap between people with those traits and people we might consider to be "assholes".

Lots of people like whiny bitchboys. Pretty much every leftist on earth is a whiny bitchboy. People like them because they parrot leftist dogma and signal to the ingroup that they're a useful idiot. Generally people don't like people who go against the grain, especially when the shit they say is true, whiny bitchboy or not.

Women are more emotional in primarily needy or neurotic ways. They're not emotional in a truly empathetic sense, more in a hysterical "child throwing a tantrum" sense.

Of course, because women are primarily concerned with social points. While China has an overt social credit system, we have a more subtle social credit system, but it still exists. Women filter everything they say and do through a lens of social approval, meaning that they'll never expressly admit to things like being attracted to go getter men who are ruthless or cutthroat in business, for example. That's "bad" in the current cultural dogma so they'll pretend to hate those people. But women are…

Middle class working men used to serve several core functions in society: they were not only the backbone of the economy but they were also breadwinners who were solely responsible for caring for women and children, raising a family, etc. Now, middle class working men serve one purpose: labour and tax cattle. I'd say parents are to blame for the lack of success in everything. László Polgár demonstrated that if you structure a child's life around something enough, they'll likely become great at it. There's no requirement to be intelligent in a developed country because society just does everything for you now. You don't have to plan ahead or solve problems. You don't have to be observant or prudent or anything. I'd say the struggle to get in relationships increases with status. Average men are probably doing okay, it's above average men that are getting demolished. Why? Because the better a man becomes, the more he realizes there are close to zero women actually worth his time. Not just sexual desire but just a general desire to please women, care for them, care what they think and want, etc. It gives women 100% of the power, influence, rights, basically everything they have and ever will have. If men suddenly became apathetic or worse, hostile towards women on a societal scale, women would be sex slaves by tomorrow morning. The fault lies with the people who have a great deal of power and influence over our culture (through government, media, education, and economics) and have opted to structure society in such a way that it brings out the absolute worst traits in both men and women. I'm not a big fan of the archetypal "nice guy" either, but, every relationship is "transactional". Even if you're just exchanging good feelings, that's a transaction. Few if any sane human beings engage in any relationship with another human being without typically giving and/or receiving something from it. It's a very fundamental component of relationships. I think the reason why women tend to view this as "bad" is because they're simply oblivious to how much they actually gain from relationshi…

In that case I'd still say it's fairly reasonable if you yourself are also not overweight, since the statistics are fairly similar between men vs women. Essentially, if I'm not a fat man, it shouldn't be unreasonable for me to want to get a not-fat woman. Otherwise who are all the thin women actually dating? Fat men?

It is a reasonable expectation though because for the vast majority of people, weight is very controllable, and it's rare that a person, especially a woman's, natural body type even supports that much mass. This is why most overweight people suffer serious joint issues at young ages, they're quite literally overloading their own skeleton. Things like six figures or six pack abs must be obtained through very hard work, and 6+ feet tall is purely genetic. When it comes to weight, all men want is w…

I agree, but, I've also had experience with foreign women who still retain a lot of their original culture's values, even after being established here. Culture is culture for a reason, and while you can't expect every Japanese/Ukranian/Polish/Iranian/etc woman to be some hivemind drone with identical values, you do tend to see differences in beliefs and behaviours that become a little more engrained due to cultural/familial upbringing. Part of the issue with our current job market is that external factors have massively inflated the level of "worth" you have to prove before being eligible for a decent life. Typically gender roles, especially male gender roles, are important for societal stability and prosperity. A good example is the current Ukraine conflict. I'd say women have a tough job in filtering through men and hoping the one they choose didn't turn out to be a faker, or turn into an asshole. However, men have to filter women out that way too, PLUS attract them in the first place. At least women have the advantage of men coming to them, so they just have to focus on trying to pick the right one. Men have to go through a lot of trouble to attract a woman and THEN hope they've selected one that doesn't suck.

The answer to that question is exactly why men are disenfranchised right now. The answer would illustrate the rampant hypergamous behaviour of women because the answer for 90+% of men is simply, "they wouldn't". Women can just compete with each other for five minutes as chad's fuck toy, they have zero emotional, practical, or financial incentive to "settle" for less, so they don't. I think social media has majorly skewed the aesthetical qualities of what "fit" really is. If you step outside that, generally I'd say fitness is attractive to women because it tends to come with many other positive traits like high energy, physical health, confidence, physical prowess, etc. If there was a man who somehow just looked like a fitness model but had none of those other traits, I doubt many women would be attracted to him beyond the initial aesthetic attraction.

The "nice guy" that women hate are the guys that are nice to women and expect something in return. In a woman's mind, a reciprocal relationship is actually oppression. Dating inherently gets harder for men and women as they get older. The reason there's a perception (which is often true) that dating gets easier for men as they get older, is because men's value to women in relationships often comes from non-physical aspects of their life such as their social abilities, social status, and wealth. Generally speaking, these things all improve with age, as a man gains life experience, makes more money, and "moves up in the world". If a man follows this track, their…

The "value" of a man in this context is essentially talking about how badly a woman wants to be in a relationship with that man. Like the value of anything, it's determined by a myriad of factors. Generally speaking, a low value man is simply a man that most women have no real desire or need to be with. When the average, decent man thinks of his friends, he's never going to be doing this tit for tat bullshit. If my best buddy was struggling in some way I'd bust my ass trying to help him if I could. I'd never in a thousand …

Considering the male suicide rate is 4X the female one, and statistically men are significantly more likely to be depressed/suicidal when lonely than women are (men cope with loneliness worse than women), I'd say it's easily a fair comparison. Also not every drug addiction has those symptoms. People addicted to caffeine or cigarettes don't experience any of that shit, usually just short temper, irritability, headaches, and extreme cravings. So your response is pretty much just taking the most ex…

Exactly. My cousin in-law has some ins because he's in fashion design and works with some reasonably high profile celebs. He gets invited to places that are not made publicly available and he won't even disclose them to us/his family (likely in fear of annihilating his business connections, credibility, and relationships with these people). Simply put, celebs have access to an entirely separate world from the rest of us, within which they tend to basically act like we would when we're hanging ou…

Can't speak for every single celebrity. However, generally speaking, at that level of fame and wealth, the "average person" becomes a nameless faceless mass. This isn't necessarily an intentionally dehumanizing thing, it's just that when you're famous you have nowhere near enough time to interact with any random person that would talk to you. So what happens is celebrities filter out most people and create inner circles and social groups. People that you have no way of contacting and that aren't…

The "lane" is just whatever is convenient for a woman at any given time. The advice you receive is never intended to be an actual strategy for men to approach dating, it's just a demand to answer to the whims of whatever a woman happens to want. If she's in the mood for a fuckboy, then the direct approach works and the orbiters get FZ'd. If she is in the mood for a betabux or lovey dovey romance, then the emotionally engaged loyal men win and the fuckboys get rejected. There is no consistent str…

But a point I do harp on about is that men receive contradictory advice and it can be very difficult to figure out what the hell we're supposed to do. That's because few if any of the people giving the advice are genuinely interested in or concerned for men's well-being and success. Most of the advice is an underhanded way to try to make men less annoying to women. Take the advice you mentioned above; if men are taught to be chill and slow paced and emotionally engaged with women before trying t…

Why can't women take responsibility for understanding that a man is maybe not in their right mind and clearly deluded, and end the "friendship" herself? Every time I turn around some woman or liberal is telling everyone that society lacks empathy and compassion for other people. Then the second an issue is primarily experienced by men it's all, "ah well fuck you".

/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/23 09:13 PM

Doesn't exactly help that men are told women don't respond to "game" and want "real, emotional connections". Isn't a good way to build that by becoming friends with a person?

Technically true but, that's a bit like saying if you continue taking drugs your addiction is on you. It's not that easy to just flip a switch and end behaviour like this. It would be nice if people on the other end of the "friendzone" would do the right thing and cut off the relationship, but oftentimes people (especially women) are happy to take advantage and just play dumb if things ever blow up.

I agree, though I do think it's a tricky balancing act. For reference, my current gf (who I'd probably say I have a solid 80% chance of going the distance with at the moment), we never did the deed till three months in, which is astronomically long for what I'm used to (not trying to brag, it just always seemed natural to have sex within like 3-5 dates). I've always believed this largely has to do with the fact that an individual man is far less valuable to society as a whole than an individual woman, from a biological standpoint. Let's use a major disaster or war for example. If you send a few thousand men out to die, society won't really be affected. Population will go down a bit but birth rates can continue on just fine. In an absolute worst case scenario, people would just engage in polygamy, maximizing birth rate potential (capped by the po…

I'll take a shot in the dark: Men have always been seen as "assets" in society but, back when women were more dependent on men for their livelihood, they probably were more likely to grow a sense of personal attachment and loyalty to them. Women already do this. They've already replaced men with pets, OF, or just being alone. What you don't seem to realize is our entire society is built on men doing things for women. The average man needs like a fuckin 10x10 square foot room with an xbox to be completely satisfied on his own. The ONLY motivation for the VAST majority of men to work harder and be successful is to impress women in some way. People here will disagree but everyone knows it's true. Women want men to "open up" in the sense that they want men to become meek and easier to control. People tend to conflate being a slave to your emotions with being "open", which is incorrect. Men want social and mental health support that encourages and supports traditionally masculine ideals. We don't want to have to trade everything we like about being men just so someone will listen to our problems for a change.

I don't disagree, it's just our hands are tied because we and other men also rely on men to perform those tasks. If it was something we could opt out of for the sole purpose of showing women what they're taking for granted, I'd be all for it. The feminist argument against claims of "apex fallacy" is usually something like women face worse discrimination/issues than men at any given "level" in society. I'd say an easy refutation to that though is the rates of job-related injuries/death, suicides, incarceration rates, and other issues that affect men vs women. Historically this is also true. Rome is a good example: in Rome common women were relegated to baby makers, which feminists would claim is demeaning and oppressive. However, equa…

I'd say patriarchy can exist, it just doesn't exist the way feminists tend to claim it does. Also patriarchy isn't inherently a bad thing. My grandfather was a quintessential "patriarch" of the family, yet he was respected and loved by everyone. When he died, it left a huge hole in the family. The classical definition of a patriarch is simply the male head of a tribe or family. I find a lot of people these days tend to miss the point of strict rules. Agreed to a degree, but, you're underestimating the impact of the Halo Effect. The problem with a lot of these lines of thinking is that people often forget to analyze things beyond a few surface level points. Example, let's take your opening premise: that women care more about a man making her feel good and happy and emotionally invested in, etc. Well, it's certainly true that women can get this from an unattractive man. To understand this dynamic all you have to do is look at the way men and women generally are. Women look at relationships in a calculated manner. To a woman, committing to a relationship is a burden. For a woman to sacrifice much of her personal and financial autonomy, and possibly even her physical well being, she must be strongly, strongly motivated. This is probably the main reason wome…
