110% agree. The whole men paying for dates is so antiquated. We aren't in the 1950s anymore. Just like how my husband doesn't expect me to do all the cleaning, cooking, and child rearing. We are a team. Our first date I paid for my own movie ticket and it was no big deal. We'd go to bars and half the time he'd buy drinks and half the time I would. 14 years later, still happy and in love.

I can respect that. We all want different things out of life. Love was high on my list of experiences I wanted, but I can see how some wouldn't want to risk the potential of it going sour.

True but the flip side is also very prevalent. I would say a majority of older couples I know never divorced. I do know some that divorced, but I would say they are not the majority. I think it's worth the risk. Most things in life are a gamble, but some things have big pay offs. My husband and I had a rollercoaster relationship in our 20s and almost ended things completely, but we both worked on communication and our flaws. It was a lot of work and a lot of trying to see the others point of vie…

What about love? I've been with my husband for 14 years and he is my best friend. There's a solid foundation of trust and security. Whenever I think I love him the most I could, that love just continues to develop and grow. It's a beautiful thing and I hope everyone gets to experience it. And the sex has just gotten better and better and better.

You think she went fishing for compliments just because she's a pretty girl? That's the only evidence. Who would ever go on r/roastme looking for compliments? That's an oxymoron. I think you are reading too into it. She didn't even smile or wear sexy clothes. Does not belong on this sub.

Mad respect for that girl. She asked for that punch and then took it like a champ. Then didn't stop and went again. She's got balls.

Same. Right now I am the breadwinner while my husband goes to school and doesn't work. We have a son so he needs to balance school with watching him, but the plan is for me to eventually be a SAHM. Raising my son and making sure he is educated is really important to me and my job is definitely not my passion. My husband is going to school for software engineering so we are hopeful to live comfortably. We really don't place a ton of value on materialism. I'd much rather be able to enjoy my family…

I was one of those women. Lots of casual sex with no orgasms. I didn't do it for the orgasms. I didn't have an orgasm till I met my husband. I did it for the validation, the attention, the thrill. Sex can be fun without orgasming. I also have a history of abuse and trauma which does tend to lead to hypersexuality. It truly was a subconscious cope to try to redeem some self esteem. I did a lot of high risk activities. Now looking back I can see it all thanks to educating myself on my own mental h…

I had a lot of ONS before I met my husband. Now I met my husband relatively early at 20 and we are now 31. The emotional bond makes sex a gazillion times better. IDK, like otherworldly. Sex without it is very boring in comparison.

" I never hit 25 and never knew love. I imagine that isn't much of a life though, especially if everything else sucks on top." This type of thinking is what I will have immense empathy for. Absolutely agree it is more than just blue balls. Everyone craves love and acceptance, and when life keeps telling you aren't good enough, that will create a horrible dystopia. I think how people articulate themselves can "trigger" people. People hear incels lament about their lives, but fail to see past the …

I strawmanned the guy above? I've only been responding to your posts. I presented my opinion to your comment: "umm sweaty, a man knowing no love and no sex shouldn't have his concerns diminished as "blue balls" or "dry dick" or whatever else. Have some fucking sympathy in your life." My argument was to agree with you, but also say that going to either side of the spectrum (extremes) is harmful. Not being empathetic towards men's inceldom, but not depicting it as a crisis either. Men getting viol…

My point was that it happens and you said you had never heard of it happening. You are right that the man's account should be heard, but you even agreed saying no isn't a reason to kill her. So I don't really care what his account is if he killed her because I see no justification. I think we are basically in agreement, but just look at things differently.

Men have historically gotten violent for not getting sex. I have read countless stories of women getting killed for not giving sex. Or about men telling women they are owed sex because they bought dinner or some other bs. That is where I have no empathy. I just saw a reddit post about a man kicking his wife out of the bed to sleep on the couch because she was too tired to fuck/ give head. I have empathy for someone's pain. I agree, but it seems we just keep going in opposite sides of the extreme. Is it a crisis? No. Is it a bad situation that can cause issues? Yes. It is completely situational. I have seen men lament about no sex and no love and I feel for them. I wish I could take their pain away. On the flip side, I have seen men cry about blue balls or cry about "it's not fair, women don't have it so hard". And I'm sorry, but those people seem like children to me. It says his height is 5'10. And my claim is if someone is 200 lbs, it doesn't necessarily mean they are fat. My whole argument is that 200 lbs looks different on different bodies depending on muscle. So when I say my husband is 200 lbs and looks average to me and I wouldn't describe him as fat, and then someone tells me that I have a skewed view of what a normal weight is..... well I think I proved my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/20 02:23 PM

right.... my claim was 200 isn't necessarily fat. I said my husband is near 200 and I wouldn't call him close to fat, more like chubby. And to each their own, my twin loves fat bald men (seriously no joke).

I agree that it needs to be talked about and is a problem, but I think your response is a bit misleading. The article you linked found that men that earned more, are more likely to be married. Well, common sense would tell you that for a multitude of factors. I would like to see a study of the gender swapped. Does women making a lot make her more likely to get married? My hypothesis would say yes. No where in the study was gender a criteria so you cannot conclude from this article that women are…

Thank you for the read. I still think that modesty is more a religious phenomenon and not a female one. From your link: Many native tribes go completely naked without shame, even today. It's only through expanded contact together with the "modern" world they learn to be "modest". It seems that mankind's obsession with modesty is what leads to negative outcomes. Paul Ableman writes: "The missionaries were typically disconcerted to discover that the biblically urged action of 'clothinng the naked'…

Gay men are still men and still have the myth that all they want is sex due to their gender. They weren't ridiculed so much for having sex, but for what they are. They demonized their sexual attraction, not sex itself. Your last comment about "all but the most extreme women". Do you think this may be biased? I mean, I feel like Chads would have the highest sociosexuality as you put it.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/19 05:39 PM

Also, the idea that women are more empathetic is a myth. Men have been told to be unfeeling otherwise they look "unmanly". This is why men portray themselves as more logical, less emotional. My husband is one of the most empathetic men I know and treats others with respect and kindness. This is a human trait, not something that one gender does more.

I feel bad for incels. How can you say how every woman feels towards a group of people? There are compassionate and apathetic people of both genders. I don't think that all men hate women just because a group does.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/19 02:53 PM

I would argue that female modesty is largely due to religious patriarchy. Many cultures had the absence of female modesty. Places in Africa, they walked around nude or with their breasts exposed. The arguments you claim, I don't see as valid arguments in today's society, I would argue that with the invention of birth control, your argument falls a bit flat. We can have more control over when and with whom we have a child.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/19 11:02 PM

I disagree. I believe social norms are completely about the times you live in, and the collective idea of morals. With changing times come changing morals which then affect social norms. That is why it was scandalous to show your ankle when you were a woman back in the day. There is no biological reason.

We live very different lives, but props to your honesty!
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/19 07:56 PM

I agree that men and women are biologically different, but what exactly are you trying to infer about biology from this post? I would argue that the social construct of sex = bad for women, but good for men, is what has caused this gatekeeping of sex. Women are afraid of what it will do to her reputation, but men see sex as something that gives them value. So of course women will delay and be more picky on the timing. Men and women both like sex and want it.

This is exactly how my college experience went. I went to college from 2006 - 2010. Went to a big state school. Went to the bars 3-4 nights a week and left pretty much every time with some lad. Fun times. Met my husband at 20, still together. This was when internet dating was still seen as sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/19 07:30 PM

This is a very callous and unempathetic way of viewing things. Are you saying women should go their own way and never consort with men? It seems like you are saying men and women should stay away from each other and you will not have any empathy if a woman gets hurt because of said consorting. I am assuming from the way you worded this that you would feel bad for men, though, if they had women troubles. Especially violent ones. Am I correct?

This is a result of the gender dynamics we see within most cultures of now. Men are not vilified for having sex, it was actually seen as a good thing; whereas, women are ridiculed. It is in our culture and how we treat even our children. The stupid jokes about fathers protecting their daughters. There is no word like slut with similar connotations for a man that practices promiscuity. Women aren't ridiculed as much now, and guess what??? I wouldn't describe them as body builders. When I think body builders, I think of the type to compete. I swim, but I do not consider myself a swimmer. I bake, but I wouldn't say I'm a baker. It is all about the extent. Body builders are not attractive to a good amount of women. I would say the majority. Same with skinny, if they are like Donald Joseph Qualls, I would say absolutely women would pick a muscular man over him (with there being exceptions of course). But a skinny man that doesn't look anorexic would be just a small notch less attractive than a relatively muscular man. But I may be biased since all of my exes were skinny men.

I agree. The study isn't asking"who would I date" it is "who do I find attractive". On pure picture alone, the healthy man will win. But you are right, the overweight charming man wins over ripped jackass every time (for relationships). Now the outliers like morbid obese will skew this logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/19 08:23 PM

I have never met a woman that says "if I could choose between a muscular man or an obese man, I choose the obese". Of course men who are in better shape and have muscles are going to be more attractive, but it doesn't automatically mean that dad bods can't be attractive at the same time. I don't even know why they did this study, what claim are they opposing? I feel like this is obvious. Just like a woman in great shape is more attractive than one that isn't.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/19 05:46 PM

You can find ripped bodies attractive and Dad bods attractive. They are not mutually exclusive. If the women said, "I don't find men like Thor attractive. Too much abs and muscles" then yea, that lady is lying.

It is all about outlook imo. This situation happened similarly to me. I was an ugly/awkward duckling in high school. I went to college, and "glowed up". I didn't change terribly much in terms of looks, but my confidence and social demeanor changed. I wasn't the nerdy bookworm anymore, I was a smart party girl. See I don't necessarily agree with this outlook. I don't think N count should really matter for either sex, but I acknowledge that this is important for some. I can agree that the typical woman does prefer relationships over plain sex. But I also know that some men prefer relationships over plain sex as well. The argument is what ratio are we talking? Is the percentage of men that just want sex 80/20 or 50/50 or 30/70? I think that if I were to guess, I'd say 60% of men ages 20-30 want a relationship and that number only increases with age. I want to start having conversations about Chad having a certain amount of dignity instead of wanting to be N=250. Seriously though, N count should be gross for both genders or neither. So women having a ONS is prostitution for free, but men doing it is what? When you take a step back, and ask yourself why? Why is it glorified for men to have sex and demonized for women. It doesn't make any sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/19 09:03 PM

This I agree with actually. Sexual compatibility is important, but you don't need to find that out right away. You can if you want, but I have found that the closer a relationship is, the better the sex. The more comfortable you are with your SO, the more trust, the more love and passion just increases sexual satisfaction. And even if you aren't good at first, doesn't mean you can't learn each other's bodies and become better. You just have to care about the other person's nut. The women that ar…

We all have finite time here on earth and many feel a pressure to find their person and establish a life with this person. The older a person gets, the more they lower that bar (unless marriage is not their goal).

Well, I would if there was a shortage in supply. Given the rules of supply and demand, I don't need to lower my standards for a ONS. And, I actually did lower my standards a lot back in the day. But I just loved sex so my demand was higher.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/19 08:33 PM

I don't know if I believe this or not. I think that some do, but some women do also. I know many young men that want relationships and not just ONS's. Yes, they still want sex, but in a committed relationship. If anything, we are all thinking with our genitals because at the end of the day, our biological function is to reproduce. But that's semantics.

True, very plausible. I am also looking at it through a 31 year old married woman's perspective which could cause bias. Maybe times have changed in certain dynamics.

Also, I would say women are pickier for ONS, and less picky for LTR. Men are the opposite. They are pickier for LTR and less picky for ONS. So for a relationship, it would seem the male should lower their standards.

I can see your point, but I would need to know more information about that graph. I don't think it is an accurate display of women and men's actual standards. For OLD, I would argue that both genders are typically looking for a hook up. I would say that they would go to match or some other dating site for an actual relationship. Given this, men will swipe right on every girl for the chance to hook up. Women are more picky for hook ups than for actual LTR. This makes sense in the data. So the man…

I have known men that stayed with cheating women. I don't think this is a gender issue. I think both have a hard time sometimes leaving relationships where they have invested and developed feelings. Maybe men should lower their standards if they are so dry to get a woman. It makes logical sense.

I disagree. I was that woman that just wanted sex. Had lots of it in my 20's and look back very fondly at that time. I didn't want a relationship, just a sweaty one night stand. We get horny too.

So true. You may be attracted, but penises vary greatly. And even more, the penis handler varies greatly. Sex is like art. Some people are good at finger painting, some create masterpieces, some create big blobs of shit. It matters how attractive or quality the material is, but mostly it depends on the artist ability.

So it is not the man's fault that they cheat? It is the woman's fault for choosing these men. Men don't wear signs saying "piece of shit". These douche-bags are very good at hiding what they are. Yea, some Kevin Federlines are obvious, but for the most part, it is hard to distinguish which men will hurt you. This is victim blaming at its best. Blame the woman for choosing men that will cheat. This is true a lot of times. I don't want my husband to fix my problems, I just want him to validate me. Now if he doesn't agree with me, I don't want him to lie or tell me what I want to hear. But when you feel heard and empathized with, it brings a lot of comfort. That's what we want. Say "that sucks, I'm sorry" and she feels validated. You're on the right path.

No, hormones do play a roll and for you to think obesity is as black and white as consuming fewer calories than you burn is extremely ignorant. Not to mention you completely forget that having a baby is time consuming and exhausting. It changes your day to day life drastically. Yes, masculine badass men are great, but when it comes to a relationship, women are more flexible. Just like no man masturbated over the idea of Mama June, Whoopi Goldberg or Kathy Griffin. Men want the Angelina Jolies and Jennifer Annistons. You say that every other man is at best going to get an alpha widow woman that has had her Chads, but I don't see that irl. /r/PurplePillDebate02/10/19 08:25 PM

You haven't given me a good answer to my why. You just stated it is your opinion, but I want to know why. Where can you deduce it comes from biology? Where do you see this connection because, for me, it seems to have come from thin air, and I just want a better idea of your perspective.

I would argue romantic love is not rare, but actually relatively common.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/19 05:44 PM

Yes, but what is seen as masculine/feminine can change. This is my argument. For example: before, men wearing pink was seen as feminine. Now, men can wear pink and still be seen as masculine. So gender norms and what is seen as feminine and masculine will change. Such as childrearing, dish washing, car maintenance should change to be gender neutral due to the changing in society.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/19 03:50 PM
1

That still doesn't make sense to me. When considering real life day to day for women and men, women doing dishes does not seem to have anything connected to biology.

This is under the assumption that you have a SAH wife. 71% of mothers work. I understand that your job is taxing, but you must do those chores now since you are single. I argue that these chores shouldn't be gender focused; but rather, individually based. What is best for your household. My belief is marriage is a partnership and you should exercise common sense when determining roles. Now child rearing is where I say it should be both no matter the situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/19 03:44 PM

How is women doing the dishes biological? It is a gender norm. Or how is men mowing the lawn biological? It does not take a ton more muscle mass to mow the lawn.

Yes! These tasks aren't gender dependent. He is not less masculine for cleaning just like you are not less feminine for fixing your house yourself. I could understand in the past because of how society was set up, but society is changing and so gender norms, I feel, should change too.

Right, but female careers won't be seen as effeminate. "Effeminate" behavior's definition will change with the change in society. I would disagree. Yes, I agree that it is slower for men, but it is still changing. I see more men in "women" fields (nursing, teaching, childcare). I think we will see an even bigger change in the social dynamic in about 10 years. It is in the works.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/19 02:14 PM
2

I feel like I don't see the traditional set up anymore irl, but I see it used online. I see women knowing about cars, I see men becoming nurses, I see women becoming CEOs. I would say that the high majority of the women I know work. Women working is the new norm so wouldn't the household chores change with it? And seeing as the lawn or dishes can be done by either sex, so why exert a norm that one should be done by one and not the other?

From my experience, a vast majority of women want children... but a vast majority of men want children. People say it is men's biology to want to reproduce (spread their seed). I don't see wanting children as more a female need; but rather, what both men and women desire (most at least).

It depends and is very circumstantial. Women can want to have no strings attached sex, and that is a symbiotic relationship when the man wants the same. But if a woman wants a relationship, and the man portrays that he wants the same, and then sleeps with her to never call again, that has pain attached now. Now the lonely man has his own set of pain. We are really talking about loneliness/untouched pain vs used like an object pain. Both suck.

Also, you contradicted yourself in the first couple paragraphs. "I know men that swipe right on literally every woman to increase his chances." Why do you think they need to do this, and women don't? So you agree men do this so it would disrupt the statistics. And men need to do it because their sex gives it up to anyone. But of course you can't hold men accountable so it has to be the woman's fault. "And also I would not extrapolate online hook up apps to the general population. " These patte…

> It's seeing stuff like this that makes people wonder if women really should have rights Wow. My opinion that female incels get more hate makes you wonder if women really should have rights. I realize now that your logic is extremely skewed and misogynistic. You have a very self centered perspective. You want me to empathize with the male incel plight, yet you completely disregard the female perspective. How many men compared to women suffer from eating disorders? How many are diagnosed with de…

I think people take their anecdotal experience and extrapolate it to the general population. There are men and women that fit these characteristics, but depending on your experience, culture and perspective, you will swear by your logic. I see this a lot here, lots of black and white, collective stereotypes. I do like that at the end the OP put that there are a ton of great women and not all fit that mold.

Only 5% of men have a higher match ratio than the average woman. In other words, women really suck at spreading the wealth around in our current social arrangement. Instead of slut-shaming, if anything it seems that women are actively seeking out the biggest male sluts. I know men that swipe right on literally every woman to increase his chances. This will very much disrupt the data pool. I don't think it is necessarily women seeking out the biggest male sluts. And also I would not extrapolate o…

Oh my, I see how my wording was confusing. I meant sex with my husband is SO much better than the men before. He is fine dining whereas the men before were fast food. From my experience, I have a much higher sex drive than my husband. You may be right that on average men have higher, but it frames it like women don't like sex at all. I respect that you don't think men should be sluts. I just don't think sex is a bad thing when done with two consenting adults. We just have two different perspecti…

This is not true. That is a portion of men sure, but you talk in absolutes. I would also argue it is social norms that can make some men homophobes. How do you explain gay men or men that have threesome work to men and one girl? And there are men that love a dominating women. Some who degrade the men. I think you may watch a lot of porn which isn't reality for the common person. What you wrote isn't logical. Maybe you should take a step back and think about it. How culture norms have formed our …

Being a woman who has been in a monogamous relationship for over 10 years, you got me all wrong. Sex with my husband doesn't compare to the men before him. It has just gotten better over the years. I see nothing wrong, though, with sex whether in a LTR or one night stand. I find it so ridiculous how this is only a female issue. Being a male slut is ok. It is only the women that get degraded. Both sexes enjoy sex. It is just social norms that makes people think women don't have sex drives. And th…

Great question. I am an open book. In my youth, I had a hard time not over sharing. I did tell him super early about my history. At first he didn't seem to like it, but then he told me that he can't judge me for my past. I'm glad he didn't.

I completely disagree, but due to my experiences. I had about 30 sexual partners before meeting my husband. I don't cheat, and I feel sex with him is on a whole different level than the other flings I had. I think it depends on the person you are having sex with and not so much your past. One night stand, yea the pair bonding isn't really going to happen. Sex with long term SO - yes pair bonding. And I feel the passion and connection have just gotten better with time.

I majored in community health with an emphasis on mental health. I delved into narcissism, but not the kind you describe. I will definitely read the book, it sounds interesting. Thank you (genuine). You're right that people defy logic all the time. I still don't agree with your premise, but I'm not saying I'm right or you're right. We have different perspectives and experiences that mold our worldview. All we can do is be observant and continue to educate ourselves. I try to keep my ego in che…

I am a woman, you are describing things women do. I was a very very social woman in my 20's and went out a lot. I had lots of girl friends. Women talk, a lot. They talk about boys a lot. They talk about who they like a lot. In my experience, I can say with absolute certainty that this is not common practice.

I am absolutely denying the reality of relationship tests or at least how often they happen. If a woman is interested in another, they would never say "I'm in a relationship". That makes no logical sense. Can anyone reading this say they have done this???? I'm not living in some bizarro world am I? Now I'm not saying that they don't happen. I'm saying that they happen maybe 0.01% of the time a woman says "I have a boyfriend".

If she says she has a boyfriend, there is no test. I have never heard of a woman do this ever. I'm sorry, but no woman would say she has a boyfriend if she is interested in you.

I keep hearing "Women play mind games. To women, no means yes and they want to be "conquered" ". What? No. We may be nice because we are afraid of it turning ugly, but most of the time we try to reject men in a nice way. We're not perfect with this, but when we say no, we mean no.

Yes. Yes yes yes. I remember in middle school and high school getting whistled at or honked at while walking. You don't do that if you are trying to make a first move. I seriously don't know why a grown man would do that to a child, but it happens a lot. My Dad's friend made a comment about how much I had grown when I was 14 and when I gave him a hug, he grabbed my butt. It was very uncomfortable, but naive me tried to laugh it off. I got a guy fired for sexual harassment. We had our numbers…

Completely agree. Porn can have a negative impact if it is an addiction or the person viewing thinks it is like that in real life. I personally love porn, but I usually only watch it with my husband during sexy time. I think the bigger problem is how controlling the girl is.... putting an app on his phone to track him? That would suffocate me.

I agree, saying something rapey or misogynistic isn't rape. That's not what I was saying. I was saying it is "rape culture". And I don't think our society is solely a patriarchy. It has some patriarchal ideals that still exist, but we have made tremendous strides away from it. I would say our society is an oligarchy. Merits will only get you so far, and those with money have more opportunities to advance than those without.

I agree that men and women have their own standard. That's biology. Men have more muscle mass compared to women. So in a physical atmosphere, they will not be equals. But that does not mean women are useless. Just like in gym class in high school, they should be judged on a standard for their gender. There is a wide range of skills in the military and women can do many just as well as men. Now your second notion about having an option to be a stay at home wife, I'm not quite understanding your…

I actually agree kind of with some of this. I'm a feminist (not man hating) and believe we aren't so different. I think women should have to join the draft if men do. I think men and women should get paternity/maternity leave. Work shouldn't be given to someone because of gender or skin color or whatever. It should be on the skill and experience of a person. If a woman in a job out performs her male coworkers, she should get the promotion. If someone out performs her, they should get it. It …

Women are working more and more lately. The assumption that men are the net tax payers is dying. In my household, I am the net tax payer. My husband is in school while I support him. Most of my female friends work, and many make more than their husbands. According to this article: "In the United States, 57.0% of women were in the labor force in 2017, compared to 69.1% of all men.14 The rate of women’s participation peaked in 1999 at 60.0%.15" https://www.catalyst.org/research/women-in-the-wo…

I guess I have a different definition for a Chad. I assumed it was an athletic, douche bag, not "nice guy". What about normies that have multiple partners? What if it is an overweight, not terrible looking, but not good looking guy that has many sexual partners? Is he a normie? A Chad? A slutty normie?

People aren't inanimate objects though. And if you want good sex, just spreading your legs doesn't do the trick. Women do play a roll in sex too. A man can do all the work, but so could a woman. I just don't quite understand the logic. Both have orgasm as the goal. Both require skill and work. I don't understand how one is ok and the other is degraded. Unless you see multiple partners as inherently bad no matter your sex. That's a whole different conversation. I just think that men would quali…
