I think a lot of women believe it had/ has good intent as well. Just ruined by a few bad eggs. These screenshots should be enough to convince most people it is not and was never about keeping women safe. https://www.reddit.com/r/afterAWDTSG/s/OWcohzCI5K Paola Sanchez (creator) statement posted to Dublin group 13 October 2022: ”We will never reveal anyone’s identity in any way when anonymity is requested. It’s a bad idea. Tell her to read this: Memory, Truth, and Distortions in “Are We Dating The Same Guy?” https://medium.com/@Jenny_Haniver/memory-truth-and-distortions-in-are-we-dating-the-same-guy-65430953b7cb And this: The Complicated World of Screenshot Sharing: Privacy vs. Accountability https://medium.com/@Jenny_Haniver/the-complicated-world-of-screenshot-sharing-privacy-vs-accountability-52d3d5a5c88d

Thank you! It helped me. I'm not good at sitting still, so diving is kind of like forced meditation. It's also totally a tribe. I know I can go anywhere with diving and make friends. I'd like this to be a bit more of a structured support community.

Agreed. I’m trying to set up a kind of alternative therapy/ retreat thing and would love to hear feedback. https://www.divebluemind.com/post/dive-into-wellness-exploring-the-bluemind2dive-initiative-for-men-s-mental-health-month

It’s always going to have some danger factor, but that’s kind of the point! Bit of a considered risk :) but yes, shallow water with a bunch of instructors around about as safe as can get. I’m not concerned about safety of divers. More would love feedback if this is kind of trip regular guys would want to go on. Most funding and non profits aimed at veterans.

Liability and legal stuff not a problem, I already do this with veterans. Not making an entirely new program, more looking to hear if this is something men would actually want?

I’m very aware of censorship going on here (Reddit). I’ve been running a small sub about a specific issue for last 9 months or so. I started it because couldn’t trust media or moderators of bigger subs to tell the whole story. I’m starting a new project now. Would love any feedback: www.divebluemind.com

Did you read my earlier response? He is not accused of cheating and has not admitted to cheating. Whether he is a “piss baby” or not is irrelevant. Lol. This is about a “secret” network of Facebook groups (3.5 million members) where women share photos and info about men without their consent or knowledge. Women can post anonymously with no fact checking and men have no chance to respond. Or at least until now they didn’t.

Search “are we dating the same guy”. The “official” groups are called “Are We Dating The Same Guy? | (city/ area)” all have same logo and Paola Sanchez as admin. Bunch of unofficial groups now as well. Uncensored versions and spin offs with different names.

Yep. That is what I have read. All articles seem to say he never met “most” or “majority” of the women. He is suing 10 right now and saying probably will add more. Only one confirmed to have met him is Olivia Burger. Vanessa Valdez is also talking to media and says she only exchanged messages on app. Never met Kelly Gibbons who wrote the post. No idea about others. At least one of them claims she met him but he denies it.

Which suit? This one hasn’t been updated since March 20. The other one in Chicago was thrown out and then refiled immediately. Looks like back in court April 8. https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/68194904/d-ambrosio-v-meta-platforms-inc/

As far as I know, he wasn’t accused of dating multiple people at once. The women were posting reviews of what it is like to date him, basically. Telling other women on this Facebook group to avoid him. He says they accused him of a bunch of stuff he can prove false, like being investigated for murder and having STIs.

This is a great answer. I have been trying to get a bit of discussion going about problems with dating right now and Are We Dating The Same Guy? Facebook groups. I definitely think we need more dialogue, more empathy, more understanding for each other.

I think they probably knew the facts but chose to ignore them. It's been interesting to watch the change in media reporting recently. Articles have become more critical and less "good outweighs the bad." While men and women are equally capable of bad behaviour, this forum and style are particularly suited to women. We like our aggression to be covert rather than overt.

There are groups "Are We Dating The Same Girl?" set up in retaliation. They are nowhere near as big or active as the women's groups. Plenty of articles have reported neutrally on the women's groups, before turning to how terrible it is that men have their set up their own groups. Pretty ridiculous headline from The Guardian considering the women's groups have 3.5 million members. "Thousands of men in private Facebook groups that are ‘cesspits’ of racism and misogyny." https://www.theguardian.com…

The other lawsuit names Facebook/ Meta along with the 27 women. As far as I understand, the case against Meta is unlikely to go anywhere because of Section 230 law that protects platforms from third-party content posted on their site. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/facebook-class-action-lawsuit-and-settlement-news/meta-lawsuit-claims-facebook-group-slandered-man/
