The fashion thing isn't a problem, just head on over to /r/mensfashionadvice and it's normal. If fashion is all you talk about then I could see how that might come across as gay. The hand gestures is a grey area, some people speak with their hands, although there are some that are blatantly flamboyant when combined with other body movements in conversation. A little of those here and there isn't a problem. Being well groomed isn't a bad thing for a guy, in fact many women appreciate a well groom…

Well if they aren't asked if they are seeing anyone currently of course they aren't going to say they have a bf... OP if you are serious about pursuing a women and uncertain if they are seeing someone, make your intentions clear by either asking them if they are seeing someone or asking them on date, they will mostly likely tell you if they have a bf.

As a guy with a lot of female friends, be friendly don't be an asshole, just talk to them like any other person, don't alienate them like they are some exocitc species, and don't put them on a pedestal, be fun, invite them to outings with others and in return they may invite you to some of their outings. Just talk to them like a normal human being.

I've heard that when you, a guy, want to lead a girl someplace, say into a crowd of people on the dance floor, and you two are right next each other, gently placing a hand on the lower back of the girl and directing her where you want to go say by pointing towards the dance has a profound effect. OK here are some things I've done to get out of my shell, and still working on getting out. Go to the gym/run. Being unhappy with your image can be a big factor in coming off as a loser. List all your interests. This gives you something to talk about and makes you an interesting person. Can be difficult for some people as some have some strange interests/appalling interests. So be careful. Who knows she might have some of the same interests. List your talents. This adds more things to talk about…
