totally but the way people are talking about this post is real unsettling. "Everything around you was designed, erected and maintained by MEN." like. obviously true for the most part. but... why are we talking abt this? NO ONE* is claiming that its Not true. and it makes us come off like "women did nothing important" like i just feel like id be Uncomfy bragging abt how much tec white people made, you know? like there are some legit reasons non-white people/ women didnt really have the same chanc…

i disagree. Those Feminists and Those MRAs are like acid and base. you cant say base is worse than acid bc youre talking abt the ends of the scale.. and.. its a scale. like thats just not what those words mean. base doesnt Mean _ intensity it just means a type of thing. a long way to say ive delt with too many of both the ends and its not possible to say either is better. my one criticism is that at least feminists call out radfems even if it doesnt work... i dont feel that mras call eachother o…

ok yes absolutely! i wonder tho if the ceo thing is abt the ceo-ness more than being a man, tho. i can imagine a woman in that same position while for the bar it wouldnt be as easy to switch

ok this is long bc i honestly think i dont understand your point at all. like. casually walk into a room of the other gender in an environment where youll end up getting to know each other. like school group project etc. and imagine that the first thing they think is "i wonder if i could get with them". maybe not the only thought, but its there. if you just wanna be bros thats super... uncomfy. vs: walk into a room and they think "theyre gonna be successful. theyre gonna really fo far in life" m…

it seems like youre comparing two Fully different jobs together for.... no reason. cs and gender studies and being a ceo or a cashier or the president.... i cannot see your point at all sorry? market value of work is market value of work. in all of the above cases. im not sure why thats confusing to you. come on man. if youre going to be loud dont be the loud idiot

As a woman: i have literally set porridge on fire before. Turned rice into Actual charcoal (actual). Sure blatant sexist parents who teach their kids that gender shit exist, but theyre fucking BEYOND statistically irrelevant and the kids are nearly always self aware & break the cycle. Some parents dont emphasize certain chores but its not a gender thing. like dude. Shut up ma'am.

Im not trying to be rude. Invasive drug tests are super shitty. They wouldnt have helped much for her since she factually was super drunk and had sex and the question was only if she was pass-out so and if it was consensual. Im concerned much of you all arent using good arguments. Excuse my frustration, but its only bc I have personally seen -in an old relationship who was accused of sexual assult wrongly- have those arguments used to help them, and then the person figuring out who to trust chos…

Yea absolutely agree shame over her actions is the likely reason this shits happening. Likely isnt enough tho I really need to look at your sources bc i cant find them, esp the video footage one. Not implying anything, i just clearly dont have enough of the data and id like to! (Also how did you find them? Am i just too busy to be looking far enough or is there something specific you googled that im not phrasing right? Im not getting anywhere) Thx :) No, i only meant your 50+ statistic has no be…

Ofc his ordeal is worse in every possible way. There isnt really any proof the tests were going to help her. They will prove he had sex w her. Great, we know- the issue is consent. Drugs? We know, she was drunk af. The testing ordeal is really shitty, youd understand someone not wanting it. Probly shouldnt be declined if they want to involve a court. Maybe she thought the was enough evidence elsewhere or was hysterical. Maybe shes lying. Just cant actually know. No, There isnt any alternative th…

I didnt mean to be defending her. Im just trying to say a lot of the "proof" people are saying isnt proof. She has no proof he raped her. We need to Demand that No proof is not enough for a conviction, and not enough basis to fuck his life over for. She tries to bring up point against him but that arent enough for proof. We have speculations shes lying. Using those speculations against her as "proof" undercuts your whole point. Thats all. Dont undercut your point; people will lose respect for hi…

">50%; cant be proved" not to be... but.. i thought the Entire reason we're here and we're angry is that he cant be proved to be guilty. We're here bc theres no evidence so whats this abt you pulling out unprovable shit lol. Look just say its the lesser 2-8%. Or say you disagree with how those numbers were found. Sure thats totally respectable! Dont pull out fake shit youre making us look bad just bc youre thinking with emotion. If you disagree with how the numbers were found we'll just go back …

I think i said somewhere else that very very few rapists spring out of the dark with a blindfold (also a not-fun-fact: those few actually happen to men most unfortunately). Its obviously easier in every way and unsurprisingly therefore more common for a date rape to happen. I see what you were trying to get at but your example's %s are flawed so theres that. In saying a vast majority of rapes happen after flirting i mean the correlation of flirting = consent doesnt make sense. Like if youre an i…

I know multiple separate people who have been both raped and falsely accused of rape im NOT taking this lightly this is Fucked up shit. Im just saying the rape victims werent thrilled about drug tests drawing blood and sticking instruments up their body for 4 hours in some beeping emergency room. The rape accused needed wayy better evidence than that their accusers didnt get tests. If you want to make any comments at all on this, (maybe not you but people in general here) need to stop saying shi…

Im not defending her. she shoulda dropped the case and left it at that. I just mean there are possible reasons a person could have made those choices and trying to use possibly plausible choices against her isnt real smart. Theres no proof so i refuse to make judgments, being a scientific method believer personally. Its not legitimate evidence and id prefer to see higher level reasoning to actually help someone when their future is at risk of being jail derailed instead of this junk clogging peo…

Most rapes are date rapes. Dates often involve flirting, unless maybe im the only one having a good time. Well it was a bar in her case but my point abt being raped after flirting being the most common still stands. I think it >80% probable she Planned on consenting but who knows what happened after.

As far as ive read, which isnt nothing,: (Again, these are just facts separate from Her specific case) Most people dont get one because The medical exam often takes 4 hours. And its invasive. For someone losing it from ptsd thats not gonna go well. Money won in court only covers costs, not some retribution punishment (as far as i can google). Costs of her medical exams and mental health counseling and the court fees and lost wages from work while in court and counseling. The court process and ta…

To be honest she just sounds like a ditz semi-outlier. One of those dumb girls that never grew out of an Ew Boys middle school "phase." Try not to judge all women for that idiot and know that women get similar shit often enough too. BUT That doesnt make your experience any less of a problem. Its serious. This is just an aside... but keep in mind flirting with someone doesnt make it not rape. She might have been looking forward to making out and even having sex, but if the partner did something sexual she didnt give permission for then its just rape. Once they close the bedroom doors no one else knows whats going on and if a "no" wasnt honored its straight up rape, although nearly impossible to prove. Its the most common kind of rape. --just.. keep that in mind as a btw i guess. Thats ^just an as…

i see what youre feeling from but i was hoping this thread would be more on the side of "men need help w , so provide " more than.. just pessimistic jabs at "feminism." maybe, but not super likely All RCs are to supply support to anyone but just a different emphasis in mind each. if the MRC is 'taken over,' it would be bc they supply needed help to others, and its hard to be mad people are getting help despite it being sad the space is sidetracked. Also theres tons of resources and a few other l…

i guess i missed that; i thought you meant to somewhat avoid using politics. ("Make clear that no ideal or school of thought is the exclusive modus operandi of the group"). And yea, then my point was supposed to be: Yup, for the most part i agree, but appealing to the Greater Forces of Feminism Which Govern Us All at this gddam school, i would try to make points to force them to recognize that feminists are obligated to help men too. being even centrist-ly political May be unadvisable at this sc…

this is... mens rights thread. i came here to specifically ask "what help do men need" and.. got responses? so a) men say they need/would like some resources. if people need help, its... kinda bizarre you'd be so mad at giving it to them. b)...ofc men talked abt. men. thats. why the all i want is to help people get the help they need, and thought an MRC might help make resources for some people easier to get. just incase it slows the furry in your veins, im gonna point out over and over again, i…

this is the response ive gotten from the QRC. its frustrating. i understand what youre thinking, but like. im a fucking lesbian and i can see the potential benefits of having a place men can be vulnerable, and supportive, and find a huge variety of resources. not all men have a space for that, and i think one huge benefit would be that they see why the other RC's are useful to begin with, and can become just.. maybe more community-oriented and accepting people, or spread the good word about the …

yea 1's absolutely a problem. almost all my friends are men and they All say they'd use an MRC. but probably more of a surface level.. theyd use the free printing and the fridge and shit, stick around to talk for a minute, but not lend effort into making it a support center; or have any staff or set up groups to meet for these issues. a lot of people would use it i think, but maybe not on a level needed to maintain it's purpose as a support center. i'm working on it. a friend said he's gonna mak…

wow!! thats awesome that you made the defense thing work out!! and yea, skim through the other posts here- i briefly mentioned that title IX isnt really applicable bc other RCs dont exclude and such (shouldnt be hard to find i Think) writing abt how men could benefit from some Concrete resources is what i need. talking abt MRC vs whatever wont work. you listed some perfect things tho, im def using those!! thx! & congrats on making a positive change :)

yes! i like it. "misogyny hurts men too" and "good feminism supports Everyone, including men" and shit about the bad hyper-masculine stereotype and shit is a big consideration in this pitch, since my school practically Reveres feminism (the normal kind, although i will admit maybe 2% are lunatics). im still rlly thinking abt this part tho, thx :)

dear god this train got off track/exploded into bloody guts. this guys got the things i need^ thank you! all i wanted was bullet points of the things men have issues with and some concrete ideas of how an MRC could help. and to remember that my liberal school supports the good ol' fashioned idea of feminists and i would get expelled if i went off about 'em like you all are doing did not want a heated debate about what a feminist is. did not want heated anything. ...just remember that in every gr…

i meant hard to find- should have written better- but as in: resources that are Hard to for men to find Elsewhere would be Made easy to Access via an MRC. if they were Easy to find in General, the school wouldnt need to provide help & therefore no MRC

"has to be undeniable or youll be laughed at" yuppp.. just because i dont carry around a spreadsheet of statistics everywhere doesnt mean they should laugh but oh boy their looks and stunned silence said it all. im def gonna be in the pamphlet game as soon as i get those statistics in order. okay, ill add that idea behind the QRC and the WRC is mainly to act as a sort of talking-pamphlet-booth. things like getting abortion advice and support, or options for transpeople transitioning & hormone treatment are more complicated than a pamphlet, and these resources are hard to find elsewhere. So the MRC needs specific issues to tackle in order to get any sort of consideration. the communities are in my opinion, the best part, but they are secondary to the specific issues yall are helping …

i wish it were that easy. the others provide Specific resources that itd be hard to find elsewhere, like things so Complicated as abortion options and support through the process/ hormone therapy for trans. the community comes as a fun by-product. the best part, but not enough for my campaign

yup! this post is intended so i can gather ideas to do things such as make fliers with solid points so i can get that shit in motion! the goal isnt to be political at all, but to provide a place to get men resources they cant get elsewhere

(cant Officially exclude women. -like the QRC and WRC make a Big Point to be inclusive of All, etc. 90% bc campus refuses to be un-inclusive, and only partially so little things like trans men can still get those uteri resources and "allies" dont have to out themselves, whatever. people rarely enter spaces not meant for them unless to dip in/out for the printer, so its still fine i guess since it wouldnt be a thing 99% of the time. we dont have frats. back in the day, we were known as a crazy party school and they +sororities were dissolved. last year they tried again, and the frat turned into a party hell and they had (actual, proven for once) rape and property destruction issues. really unfortunate it didnt go better but its dissolved again.

Girl scouts is only lame as a child bc parents dont know what else with little girls other arts and crafts, while they already expect the boys to be caked in mud constantly. My friend says girl scouts is awesome when youre older, but for both groups, almost all of the fun relies on parents. your family is being insanely shitty to you. you arent being a pussy. you were wronged and venting is important. im hoping for you that as the adrenaline fades apologies or at least ashamed silence will follow. if not... well: keep in mind women are told alllll the time not to be out too late or go to sketchy neighborhoods and to be afraid of men. and then we get all this shit where just sometimes theres just a gut reaction to be scared of men. we occasionally just get it and have to shake it of…
