Intersectionality projects a veneer of complexity, but in practice it just sorts people into two groups - oppressed and oppressor. That’s about as black and white and you can get.

Yes. Yes it is. However, you will get mixed reviews depending on how individual feminists decide to weight the “progressive stack”. Super progressive, no doubt. Also juvenile. Intersectional feminism is an ideological monument to black and white thinking.

I’ve worked in female dominated fields for the past couple of decades. What I’ve noticed is that physical/emotional discomfort, vulnerability, and claims of mistreatment are units of value within feminized hierarchies. A woman can increase her status and influence within a feminized hierarchy, by signaling to other women that she has been slighted or that she is particularly vulnerable to being hurt/wronged. Women who accomplish this are centered, supported, and affirmed by the group and their n…

Hmmm…tragically low paying job….explicitly hostile work environment… Why would any decent, thoughtful man not want to be a teacher? I dunno lady, it’s a real chin scratcher. Must be toxic masculinity.

It’s because young women have been radicalized by brain rot on the internet. The shift is dramatic and reflected in all the data. It’s crazy that no one in the mainstream ever mentions it. Meanwhile, Jordan Peterson’s existence is treated like a public health emergency. I’m a nurse. I work with lots of young women. The constant misandry and sex talk is out of control. They are bound and determined to turn all of creation into a horrific, real-time edition of teen vogue magazine. It’s fucking bon…

“Man up” from a trusted friend or family member means “stick to your principles. You’re tough enough to get through this. Get moving.” “Man up” from an entitled, manipulative woman means “how dare you have boundaries that are inconvenient for me.” It’s really all about context.

There is no shortage of misandry on Reddit, but it’s not just Reddit. It’s everywhere, at least here in the US. Not trying to say I’m oppressed or something, but it’s hard not to notice when it’s all over popular media. Lots of women hate men. The scary part is that they don’t seem to be aware of the cognitive distortions that drive their belief that all men are bad. Many of these same women will endlessly discuss the flawed thinking of men who hate women, but somehow they are unable to identify…

Yes, the article is stupid and - at the same time - it is part of larger issue. The large scale demonization of men in major media publications is not a problem that should be ignored. I guess we have a disagreement there. That’s ok with me. Have a good one.

Not everyone does well with exposure to massive amounts of blood and various other bodily fluids. Best case scenario, child birth is kind of like a controlled medical emergency. If you are not essential to the process and you are about to pass out and/or throw up, the best thing you can do to help is leave the room.

You mean “The Good Wife’s Guide” from 1955? I’m not sure women react well to that particular publication nowadays. Understandably so. This article is stupid, but it’s not the end of the world. However, it takes place in the context of a deluge of articles that are similarly demeaning towards men. That is an issue. Also, it’s really easy to trivialize shit like this when it’s not pointed at you.

And you would be perfectly justified in not responding well to being bombarded with genitals every time you go on the internet. The difference is that no one would argue with you about it. I guess I’m not really sure where you’re going with this. Also, I don’t find advertisements particularly arousing either, but ads are often blatantly sexual. Escorts and strippers are working. I’m not sure anyone would say that there isn’t a sexual dimension to those professions. I think it’s entirely reasonab…

I think there is a huge double standard wrapped up in what you are talking about here and it all revolves around consent. Consent is important. As fed up as I have become with the contemporary left, I can easily find common ground with them on that issue. However, the left is only concerned with women’s consent. Women’s consent is to be actively sought out and men’s consent is universally implied - especially when it comes to women and doubly so if there is a sexual element. If women’s Facebook …

The situation I described wasn’t good, but it wasn’t rape. It was bad, uncomfortable, awkward sex with a person I shouldn’t have involved myself with. I’m not in a hurry to do it again, but I consented to it and I am responsible for the decisions that I make. Even the bad ones. Every human who has sex - or hopes someday to do so - should resist this push to classify bad sex as a form of sexual assault. I don’t care what level of giga Chad you are, you’re capable of bad sex. That said, men can ab…

Man, I have been in your shoes. That anger she feels for every other man on the planet….you’re going to absorb that. You probably already have, at least to an extent. It’s sounds like you walk on egg shells around her? I swear this is going somewhere: I have had some negative experiences with women. Lots of them if I’m being honest. A couple of years ago I dated a former co-worker. The first time we had sex she was incredibly aggressive and I was uncomfortable. I went through with it, but it was…

Women as a group seem to see themselves as morally incorruptible and unfairly put upon by society. I wonder how long these ideas would last if main stream media stopped defending their every foible while simultaneously framing any inconvenience a woman might encounter as yet another facet of an ancient gendered conspiracy theory (i.e sexist air conditioning)? It’s like women have a personal assistant that follows them around and tells them that they’re perfect just the way they are and it’s an i…

Well, it’s probably a woman who made these allegations. Nothing is going to happen. If a man filed multiple false police reports, you bet he’d wind up in jail. Because it’s a woman, she will be painted as a victim, a survivor of trauma who lashed out. She won’t lose her job and she certainly won’t serve jail time. Feminists often say that society infantilizes women. That’s bullshit. Society lionizes women. In most cases, children are redirected when they do something wrong. When women behave bad…

Looks like he's doing his part to alienate men from the left. I’m not a conservative guy, but I’m ready to walk away from the left entirely at this point. The left has nothing but contempt for men and I dont see that changing anytime soon.

Women and effeminate men react differently to male vs. female nude leaks because they feel differently about the two. Male nudes make them feel good, therefore good. Female nudes make them feel bad, therefore bad. What I’m saying is that women and effeminate men have feelings where their principles should be. It’s really that simple.

This is a great example of exactly what men should expect from a public institution that has been entirely captured by feminist ideologues. The narrative will be carefully upheld, even when it flies in the face of reality. This is why I oppose feminism.

The double standards that feminists actively support and uphold are the result of an ideology that - without compromise - prioritizes women’s experiences, interests, and advantage. Sometimes that pursuit will generate double standards and inconsistencies. When feminists lift a finger to address the issues in their movement, I’ll be happy to extend my charity and support. Until then don’t expect it.

These double standards/inconsistencies are the result of feminist thinking.

I don’t think you know what simping is. In general, simping is when a man extends himself beyond his means and agrees to things he does not want in an attempt to gain the attention/affection of a woman. Men can be kind without being doormats. Use your imagination.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/24 01:38 PM

It is entirely possible to be kind to someone while maintaining healthy boundaries.

Guy: “Don’t jam silverware into the toaster.” This Lady: “How dare you tell people what they should do with their time!” Simping doesn’t work. It will not help a man win a woman’s affection. Men who simp should expect frustration, disappointment, and in some cases, financial ruin. Simping is stupid and ultimately self-destructive. It’s kinda like jamming silverware into a toaster I don’t know you, but are you taking this stance because you would like to be given attention and money?

This wasn’t a discussion about rape. We are currently talking about rape because you think the topic is some kind of cosmic feminist trump card. It’s not. I pointed out the feminist tendency to shamelessly downplay issues that effect men while simultaneously being amazingly precious about every inconvenience that woman might encounter. Two comments later it’s a conversation about rape. Can’t say I’m surprised.

There is a thin line between infantilization and lionization. Woman are not seen as “fragile, weak, and vulnerable”. That’s a cop out. Women are seen as incapable of doing wrong. Children are fragile, weak and vulnerable and they are still (for the most part) redirected when they misbehave. When women are assholes, people bend themselves in half to explain it away.

I’ve been a nurse for 10 years. I spend long periods of time with groups of women. The shit that women are willing to openly say about their male partners never ceases to amaze me. It appears that, when women are around other women, there is no intimate detail that they will hesitate to share. Spending lots of time around women has really made it hard for me to trust them. This is why I find the discourse around “locker room talk” so intolerable. I’ve been a male human for 42 years. The relative…

I’ve never heard anyone say that about ADHD and autism. She may have said that borderline personality disorder (BPD) and autism are at opposite ends of a spectrum. It doesn’t make a ton of sense to me, but I’ve heard people make that comparison.

Nope. I understand what you mean when you say toxic masculinity. What I’ve tried to explain is that I don’t think the term is helpful. I don’t think you want to hear that. It is possible for people to disagree with you for legitimate reasons.
/r/MensRights02/03/23 09:23 PM

No shit. Do feminists use the term? Do they use it incessantly? Has it not become a staple of feminist rhetoric? is the mythopoetic men’s movement even a thing anymore, or did it die decades ago? At this point the term is a fucking cop out. When a men’s issue is blamed on “toxic masculinity” it gives everyone the excuse they need to utterly ignore the problem, no matter how pressing. It’s so much easier to just shrug and say “well I guess we’ll have to completely abolish gender roles” than to do…
/r/MensRights02/03/23 04:24 PM

Suicide is not a simple, monocausal issue. The feminist obsession with “toxic masculinity” prevents us from formulating meaningful solutions to the problem of male suicide. This is why ideologues shouldn’t try to solve problems.

Women often mistake having LOTS of emotions with emotional intelligence. People who are actually emotionally intelligent are able to take responsibility for their mistakes, accept change and disappointment, and mange complicated emotions in difficult situations. Most people - absolutely including women - are not emotionally intelligent.

What do you think “fumbling” means? is rape fumbling? Groping? Explicit sexual harassment? I don’t consider any of those things to be “fumbling” and I doubt anyone else does. Could that word, in the context of the article we are discussing, mean awkward, but non-threatening interaction?
/r/MensRights12/02/23 02:21 PM
14

This is semantics, but people don’t exclusively fumble with their hands and they never have. Anyway, the article didn’t mention any of those things because that’s not what the author is talking about. The article is about boys being ostracized for having uncomfortable interactions that do not involve actual harassment. I think you jumped to those conclusions because you dont want to see the problem for what it is. It’s way easier just to tell those boys to stop whining, right?

Do you think that “teenage fumbling” means unwanted touching in this case? Is there anything else that phrase could mean in this context? Many women - at least on Reddit - tend to read articles that lean towards sympathy for men in the most uncharitable way possible. I think you’re doing that. I took “teenage fumbling” in this context to mean awkward verbal interactions. You know, the kind of thing that happens all the time to young people - of both sexes - when they are trying to figure out how…
