Timbrell began a male-only swim course where only men could watch from the sidelines — no moms. The program bred from the same religious/cultural reasons, Jackson said. If any parents wish to watch their child who is enrolled in a female or male-only swim class, they would have to move them to a mixed boys/girls class that runs three days a week. In most of the world, male circumcision isn't done with any better or cleaner equipment than FGM. You do know that America and western Europe aren't the only places where circumcision exists?

It doesn't hold up to scrutiny because it becomes ridiculous as soon as you apply the logic to a less reasonable situation. Let's say we reinstated mandatory castration as punishment for buggery. Justified?

I don't know why you feel the need to explain that if you want to avoid jail time, avoiding crime would be a good idea. What you aren't saying, but seem to be implying, is that if a person knew about the punishment beforehand, that makes the punishment justified, and only the perpetrator is to blame for what happened to them. An opinion that doesn't hold up to the most basic scrutiny.
