To lose weight, I'm eating ~2200 calories. I think for you 2500 is a good goal, thats a 500 calorie deficit and its a decent amount of food if you eat the satiating stuff (protein, fiber that sort of thing). I'm very impressed with your walking numbers, as someone who frankly despises cardio I dont do nearly as much as you though I definitely should. Good shit. Reps dont really matter, the research says something like anywhere from 6-30 reps with the necessary tension on the muscles (going to me…

Losing all your weight in 6 months will not be possible or responsible, so I agree, dont do that. Thats fine that you dont think youve been doing that great. To be honest, this, combined with a few other life factors have really helped me lock in, so I've been doing a lot better as well. I hadn't been doing so well either, at least on the going to the gym part.

When you're no longer 'getting started' there are tons of resources online that I used to guide me. The general consensus for optimal muscle building is 0.7g per lb of lean body mass. I think you'll know when you're no longer getting started, like its just a feeling. If it becomes part of your routine, and you learn more about health and exercise, you'll get to a point where you can very easily make independent choices based off your own knowledge without needing to do research. My brain works i…

I'll tackle each of your concerns paragraph by paragraph if you dont mind So first question, what do I view as healthy. I think the biggest issue of diet in the western world is the amount of calories. Fats and carbs are all necessary, the issue is the excess in total consumption. As long as my calorie in take is in a controlled matter (purposeful weight gain/weight loss/weight maintenance) then I would say you are 90% of the way to healthy eating. What do I mean by dont focus on exercise: Exerc…

I was 173cm (5'8) around 96kg (212lbs). I was taking some medications that increased weight gain and also had a generally sedentary lifestyle and ate a lot. I wasn't extremely obese, but obese to be sure. I went into a pretty depressed state of self hatred and whatnot and just needed to get the weight off. I don't recommend the mental state, but it was pretty effective. I lost about 40lbs in a bit under a year. Didn't have a lot of muscle, so after a while I got into the gym and just kept losing…

One day or Day one bro, dw about how long it will take. Love yourself enough to make the change and improve your life. I used to be obese and it took a fuck ton of work to lose it, but my quality of life has been greater than I could ever imagine.
