Ok. Obviously I dont have all the details, but sirens are going off in my head. Do you think is the type of person that could lie?

I learnt many of these lessons the hard way. My advice would be always be ready to walk away. Always be prepared for separation, even when you think it would be unlikely.

Thank you. I was feeling better for a few weeks. I felt confident. I felt like she was the one who had fucked up and that I was the prize. But yesterday my my mum had shown me a letter that she had sent to my parents, thanking them for everything they had done for her in the past 11 years. We were family. We had everything we needed. She could have had anything she wanted. I was prepared to do anything for her. Why did she have to do this to us?

The thing is she really gave me no reason. She left after I confronted her about our future. I just wanted to know what she was thinking. She gave me the old “I love you, but not in love with you” etc. I think one factor may be that for the past 5 years she told me that she wanted children when I had asked her, but never brought up the topic herself or tried to initiate the process. Now that we are both 40 I feel that she thinks she can no longer get away with lying about it anymore… Saying that…

Pretty much this. How the hell were we meant to know what crazy mental disorders were going to surface 10 years later…

I’m in the same spot as you. I feel so lonely. I work hard, train in the gym and do BJJ, I keep busy cooking in the kitchen… but my God, I’m so lonely and I miss her so much.

Nice post. When I’m struggling with my emotions I remind myself that I have only lost a person who doesn’t have the ability to communicate, unwilling to discuss and work on relationships, avoided all hard conversations and was never really into sex. Win, win for me.

Yep. One day she was my best friend, the next day she can’t stand the sight of me.

I need help moving on. I plan to do cool things, but I want her to see this and regret he choices. I know this is not healthy but it’s how I feel.

I’m partly curious, and partly wishing to witness “ karma”. Does that make me a bad person?

I don’t think there is another person, although it does not really matter. The relationship is over for good. I now have some massive life decisions to make. We had both moved together to a regional town. I have just received a massive business opportunity which will tie me up here for at least 5 years, but I’m tempted to go back to the city for a fresh start.

Thanks for the great advice. You are right, I just don’t know how to do this. I loved her so much.

Sorry that happened to you. How long did it take for you to recover? Any particular therapy I should be seeking?

I suggested counselling as well, but she was not at all interested.

If she meets a guy and gets pregnant I’m not sure how I will react. I will check out the book.

I’m pretty sure there isn’t another guy, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she is riding the carousel within weeks. We live in a small town and it’s only a matter of time I will bump into them. I don’t how I am going to react when I see this… Im so angry, revenge is in order. What red pill content do you suggest?

She wants commitment. At that age, a lot of of women want commitment and not just sex. I know there are exceptions.

I’m almost in an identical position as you. Weekends suck. Only days ago my ex told me she was leaving this weekend to go travelling for 1 month in Europe. A trip that we both had planned together for 3 years. Talk about rubbing salt into the wounds.

I was aware of the communication issues for some time. I was waiting for her to say something as she considers herself a ”communication guru” as her mother often gives her advise from her mature age psychology degree. I had seen red flags previously… I should of taken note of it.

Of course we both changed, and I believe both for the better. I just wanted us to have better communication so our relationship could level up. Maybe she thinks she is too good for me now? I did get the whole “ I love you but I’m not in love with you” bullshit. We are both 41. I do consider her attractive, but I hope she gets what she deserves as a women who is about to hit the wall.

Yeah, I did some begging too. Its clinically insane though that she could not understand that we were only going through a bit of relationship fatigue like every other couple in the universe.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
