My problem is that I'm trying to argue against a circlejerk. Anyways, all I was trying to say was "I feel like using a metaphor that equates men to mythical dragons, who are being slain by "heroes" for no good reason, seems over the top and takes away from the point." The MensRights movement and especially this sub have a pretty bad image elsewhere. A political/social movement, imho, only works with the correct image - this movement does not have the correct image - I was just trying to point ou…

I understood that it was a metaphor, it was just a terrible one because the image it evokes makes the whole thing seem immature. But who am I to interfere with the circlejerk, please do proceed to call each other dragons, fairies, orcs and what-not.

Just reminds me of feminists talking about inner goddesses and shit.

Just sayin'.... Some people consider the topic of men's right a joke so I'd rather keep things a little more serious instead of talking about us men being mythical creatures who are opressed by knights in shining armor ....

The fact that dragons aren't real REALLY doesn't help your argument when there's enough people out there who say the same thing about Female->Male rape or violence in general.

It's ridiculous comments like this one that make everyone else on Reddit (and elsewhere) ridicule this sub and its (perfectly valid) points.

I think "good" was sarcastic.

Thing is - I'm not active here. I just saw that this article was perfect for this sub and that it's already several years old so I couldn't believe it hadn't been posted before.

It is however a very good precedence case that one can quote in the future, effectively giving his arguments more substance.

I didn't know Salon prior to reading the article, what's their usual directive?

There are in fact feminists who call basically everything rape or rape-support but I want to believe that this is to feminism what the Westboro Baptist Church is to Christianity.

This seems like more of a case of a lazy asshat sheriff, not a mysoginist sheriff or a sheriff who was blinded by rad-fem propaganda that demonizes rape.

I think there's two sides to this: It's a fact that there is a lot of harassment from men towards women in gyms, much more than the other way round. For this very reason there are a bunch of women only gyms. I have absolutely no problem with that or with certain "women only" days/hours in a gym. The execution in this case is shit. Why the fuck would you spontaneously throw out all the men? Just announce some kind of "Women's happy hour" a few weeks in advance and I don't think anyone will have a…

Gentlemen, have you ever asked yourself: "How often does a woman have to lie until law isn't on her side anymore?" The answer is 11.

Women are not the only people being discriminated against in First-World nations; it's time to stop being feminists and start being humanists. This a million times.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
