There is a perfectly good explanation: coincidence. The majority of women do go after money and stability and all that, but every now and then a weird one will pop up. Nothing delusional about it. Many men have in deeply ingrained within themselves that hitting a woman is bad no matter what, and many other men know perfectly well that hitting a woman can get them into a world of trouble. Without all that encouragement, would female emotional expressiveness be as it is now on average or would there be a lot less of it? I don't recall where, but I read that some research has been done that indicates that telling people about certain feelings makes them more likely to feel those things. I think they call it "priming". If this is the case, encouraging women to talk about their fear day in and day out may actually create new feelings of fear that would not have been there otherwise.

I have a similar problem in Spain. Studies have been done that show that women have an innate preference for other women over men. And also that men have an innate preference for women over men. In other words, women like women, and men like women. The notion that men need support from other men strikes most men as being nonsensical. The fact that she uses Feminist language should give you a clue. I read, a while back, a post that she made on a personal blog in which she discussed her tendency to take the actions of other people far too seriously, and to assume that other people's actions are about her, even though they often are not, and about the difficulty she was having dealing with that.
