Yes in the western world men & women basically have the same rights, this isn't the case in large parts of the world so today most feminists (Read FEMINISTS not FEMINAZIS or WOMEN WHO WANT ATTENTION AND/OR SPECIAL TREATMENT) work to improve their situation. And yes those exists.

This isn't what I came to discuss. But in my opinion there's hardly any difference between 16 & 18. Many countries have lower, and no it's not only "uncivilized third-world countries" Sweden for one has 15, which also is little difference from 16 or 18.
