Morning … what your feeling is real and I can remember the same feelings. I would close the door to my daughter’s bedrooms after they left - just so I didn’t have to see the empty room waiting for them. That feeling is normal and we all cope differently. For me I dealt with it by staying busy - around the house - work - making plans with friends - dating - and just figuring out how to move forward and be healthy for my girls . I wish you all the best and I can tell your a good dad just by the su…

5 years - stuck it out because I wanted to be present for my two girls. If I could go back I should have left when I knew my ex was not going to gaslight me and continue her affair.

I received a text response - “ Thanks for sending that over and sorry for the delayed response. I had meetings until 7 last night. Please know that I am passing this information along and if / when I have questions I will let you know. Have a good day!! “

I started running with a local running group. But as far as talking to people about your situation I came here and also talked with a therapist. The key is to keep talking and use us channels like this to just let it all out. I’m sorry you’re going through this - we’re all pulling for you and I can tell you new chapters make for a great story.

Yeah I sent her an email and text yesterday and haven’t heard back. The anxiety has me waking up around 1am and my mind races . Having to process again all the emotions I thought were pushed back .

Sorry you’ve had to go through this. I too have a ex father in law that is the head of the local southern Baptist church that conducted a large effort to smear me to my girls and to the local community. When he was confronted with his daughter having an affair with a self confessed atheist- he went immediately into the mode of protecting the image of his family .

I wrote more but decided that I needed to just address the one point and not conflate the one opportunity for her to hopefully see for her self what is happening

First - man I am so sorry. I too did exactly the same thing - took the high road. Ex was a high school principal in a county of 5000 people - small town and having an affair at the school. When I filed for divorce I did it in an adjacent county so it would not be front and center in the county gossip and to protect my two girls in the school system. Same never forced them to stick to the visitation schedule as teenagers and never uttered a word to why I filed for divorce. I have tried to just mo…

Yeah this sure feels like if it ever gets better it will be years or at all. I got to a better place over the years - never perfect because I didn’t know what they were told. But all those emotions that were raw during the early days of the divorce have bubbled back

I went ahead and reached out to my daughter via text and email. What I sent - I need to address what you said at lunch about your older sister and the "emancipation" paperwork. I wanted to clarify this because I would never want you to think I would abandon either one of you. Kentucky law (KRS 403.213) Motion To Change child support occurs when a child turns 18 and graduates high school. When your sister graduated in 2015, my attorney by law filed the required motion to adjust my payments accord…

I have not met my grandson nor walked my daughter down the aisle when she married. All over at best being ignorant to the Kentucky Statue and legal wording or manipulation which has been a staple for her.

I am so sorry. I hate that you are experiencing this too. I can tell you I've been telling my friends I've wondered what she was told and even though I have an answer - it hasn't made the pain any better.
