Kind of yes, although I think it's starting to trend in the other direction with Gen Z, and people aren't discussing the pros and cons now it's just marriage and kids are bad. From a societal perspective this is bad, although I can't really blame us with the cost of everything a lot aren't even planning on it even if they do make decent money.

Lol everything sounds condescending then because you're placing yourself under people.

I'm not saying that you should just marry whoever, or just have kids because that is just what you do. Im saying that the very concept of marriage and monogamy is being devalued in favor of 'having fun' and short term flings. This is the mentality in our culture now, it's not the result of free thinking genius. It's hyper individualism and egoism under the guise of liberation. You being married yourself makes it seem a bit ironic that you would say there's absolutely no reason to get married, ev…

They need to maintain their status as victims. Talk with black pill guys for a while and you'll realize they don't actually care about getting better, they want to bitch and complain about women because that's what their identity is. Even if you give them advice on how to live a fulfilling life without women, they don't like that either. It's crabs in a bucket.

So if I a man, tell you to do that shit, does it sound condescending? Basic hygiene is fucking good for your mental health, even if it doesn't get you a girl. Do that shit bro.

I honestly think that this issue is happening not because women are gaining more rights, but because the traditional model of marriage plus kids is being devalued in a postmodern society, and most, but not all, women are following that trend. It's not the result of free and critical thinking like OP is trying to frame it. Like women are just collectively deciding that men and children aren't good for them with no influence from outside forces, lol right. That negates how much impact society has …

Sure if you're actually doing all the housework, all of the time. Which I think would be extremely unlikely, especially in the modern world because now women view being a housewife as a form of oppression. If both couples are working and doing housework and the man works a higher paying job (usually the case) the women gets a surplus through the divorce.

I wish people would just be honest and say that what makes you a good person isn't what makes you attractive. I don't know why this is so hard for some to admit. Ted Bundy was getting love letters in prison. He even married in prison iirc.

Women Pro: More options, more attention. if they want they can get hookups whenever they want. Women cons: Getting played, lead on by fuck boy types, much higher risk of sexual assault. Men pro: Rape and sexual violence is much less likely. Men con: Worry about being perceived as creepy or as a potential sex offender, potentially catching an accusation even if it's false. Feeling like your the one who has to pursue, and make all the moves. A bit biased cause I'm only speaking from the side that …

Absolutely not. I simply emphasized that I thought that was an important part of the definition, which I think it was. If you're going by the broader definition of misogyny, then sure you're 100% correct about the whole thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/25 12:25 AM
1

Just ignore a major part of the definition and only focus on the prejudice part then. I don't care. I thought the dislike and contempt for was pretty important especially when prejudice can be better explained by other words like chauvinism.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/25 01:32 PM
1

Quick Google search. The dictionary definition of misogyny. Dislike of, contempt for and prejudice against women. So yeah that wasn't true, but keep in mind contempt is a major component of misogyny, but not of chauvinism, to answer your question. Where has chauvinism existed without misogyny, all over the place.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/25 02:20 AM
1

Is there a real functional difference? I'd say yes, because chauvinism includes negative unconscious stereotypes, misogyny implies force, deliberation, malice etc. It sits nicely with the cabal idea. If there actually was a cabal.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/25 12:09 AM
1

When you asked have women been oppressed I'm thinking of men forcefully and deliberately keeping women in the home. Like in ancient Greece. Not unconscious biases, or stereotypes that are detrimental to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 10:58 PM
1

Were they? Yes, but it also depends on the society. Women had more rights in Egypt than Ancient Greece where they could hardly leave the house. Are they? In most western countries I'd say no. In the Middle East? Yes. Point here is that it depends on the society and time periods but the oppression of women is presented like a monolith, enacted by a global patriarchy.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 09:08 PM
1

Then say that. Let's not act like radical feminist theory doesn't depict men as the dominant class who have literally been oppressing women since the inception of humanity. It's dramatic. If it's plain say it plainly.

Because that's just the result of thinking he is the best, an out group isn't targeted.

Basically the entire history of what is called misogyny, is chauvinism. You're just using a broad definition of misogyny. Which doesn't actually describe what's going on. Misogyny reads like there's some secret cabal of men conspiring to screw you over.

Well when you usually use the word misogynist are you actually meaning it with only the prejudice part and not the hatred and aversion to part? I've always gotten the impression that when feminists talk about misogyny they mean someone who has hatred and an aversion to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 01:22 AM
1

Key words in the definition of misogyny. "hatred of or aversion to women" That's not present in the definition of chauvinism. They can, in principle, exist separately.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 01:11 AM
2

Chauvinism is having an excessively pro attitude toward the in group (usually men at the expense of the out group women) but this doesn't necessarily mean the in group is deliberately trying to harm the out group. The other, misogyny is conscious malice and hatred of the out group. Both lead to bad consequences but I think there's a clear difference in intent to harm. In other words one is due to ignorance, the other to malice.

Everyone gets less physically attractive with age, but our sex drive declines with age so that doesn't matter.

Men not being able to control our horniness, is the reason why the dating market has gotten so bad. It's the same dynamic as supply and demand. Less gooning and getting hobbies might reset it back to normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 10:33 PM

I agree. There's a chunk of men who feign interest to sleep with women, leave and then find out she's pregnant. Those are the types of men who would want a 'financial abortion' and are the least deserving.

Oops I responded to the wrong comment. No. My initial comment was based on the idea that the older you get the less options you realistically have this applies to both genders and seems self evident

/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 02:43 PM

From a purely physical standpoint you may be right, but does that even matter? We all get old and shrivel up eventually. That's why love and long term commitment are important, it combats the loss of passion and raw attraction that comes with age.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 02:57 AM

In general. Men are attracted to their partners. Even if they are past a certain age. Like c'mon do we really think PPD men are a good sample to generalize from. A decent chunk of black pill guys are literally autistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 12:06 AM

That could be true, there's definitely an experience difference as you get older which may offset having less total options. I guess I was thinking of it from the perspective that people tend to be married by then, and so older people in general tend to have less options, but that's not necessarily a bad thing as it makes it easier to decide on a partner. That and you tend to be more mature.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 11:57 PM

We are attracted to women who have 'hit the wall' if they were with us, or interested in us before that. When a man says he doesn't want a women who 'hit the wall' he really means that he doesn't a women who didn't want him before that to come back and try to settle down with him after she had her fun. If she wanted him before that, or was dating him before that it's not much of a problem. Basically he doesn't want to feel like she's settling for him.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 11:29 PM

This just seems to be devolving into semantics. Point is the pro social instincts should be favored more in our current predicament.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 10:15 PM
1

Yes it does, because what is useful is sometimes better than what is objectively true. Even if there is no objective division between instincts we ought to follow the ones that ensure greater prosperity long term. The ones that favor the collective whole.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 10:12 PM

This is the only comment that this sub actually needs to read. So many confuse desire, or passion with love and are driven by baser instincts. Dating apps prey on these base instincts making you think someone better is just one swipe away, when really you're always going to be one swipe away. Our society is now being driven by instant gratification, and if we don't learn to forgo instant pleasure for long term prosperity western civilization might collapse.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 09:52 PM

No one says it applies in all cases. It's a generalization, but what you're forgetting is that the exception (in this case you) doesn't disprove the rule. He's not saying that older women can't find love, just that it's more difficult. Which is objectively true.

Because Women usually expect a man to ask them out. It's conceivable that an autistic women could at least get a few dates whereas an autistic man would struggle to get any because of the charisma needed to ask someone out and get a yes. Not that autistic women don't struggle, but it might only become apparent after a few dates.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 04:16 AM
11

Autistic women might have more trouble maintaining relationships, whereas autistic men struggle to even get into relationships because men are usually seen as the pursuers. I could see a man asking an autistic women out, and dating her for a while before her autism becomes a problem, an autistic man wouldn't get past the first gate because women usually expect guys to ask them out.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/25 04:04 AM
2

Because of how dating dynamics tend to work. Men are usually the pursuers, and women can choose to accept or reject their advancements. Men need game and social skills more when it comes to dating.

Your 1st example of a Virgin man, Isaac Newton: went fucking insane, tried to find numerical codes left in the bible, started practicing alchemy, and drank mercury believing it would unlock secrets. None of that has to do with a lack of sex, or at least there is no evidence for it. Also he didn't go insane, although he did have some odd, or unconventional beliefs. Also, not specifically stated that he was a virgin, just that he never married. Newton is widely thought to be a virgin. Your 2nd exa…

But the pool to draw from is larger, I think it's a sound inference to make, and even if most women aren't self identified feminists you can still see the influence of feminism on non feminists. The larger the audience, the more the potential for influence, even indirectly.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 09:22 PM
1

That's within a relationship though, it's normal to expect sex in a relationship, not outside of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 09:19 PM
2

No it isn't. You think Isaac Newton would say he didn't live a fulfilling life? Or Jesus for that matter. Many important historical figures died virgins. Social life is necessary, sex by itself isn't although it can and often does make happier because it usually comes with social connection.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 07:30 PM

I get what you're saying, but I think that last sentence kind of works against your point. Because there are so many women (even more than men) Feminism has far more influence than other rights groups, it can lead to the scales tipping in the complete other direction, and that is actually what I think we're starting to see among the younger generations. Historically men have been privileged but if we're just talking about Gen Z, women have a huge advantage, and keep in mind that it's mostly Gen …

That's true, if you get a women pregnant you can't just leave her with full responsibility of the child. That's the risk you run having unprotected casual sex. I'm less sympathetic towards 'financial abortion' because it probably only happens to men who pump and dump women so to speak, and then they don't want to help raise a child.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 06:34 PM

Bingo. They're different from regular conservatives because they started out left, or closer to it. You even see this reflected in the data of the gender political divide, of men going farther right, or women farther left depending on how you look at it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 03:41 AM

And create a hard distinction between those two.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 03:25 AM

More sex options, but not many more long term dating options. This assumes that women just want to have casual sex all the time. I feel like that's a projection of how men think. When women have casual sex it might be because they didn't think it was casual. There are highly promiscuous women but they're a smaller subgroup.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/25 08:33 PM

Actually I think you've got it backwards. Living in a rural area makes it easier because rural communities are more tight knit. Everyone knows everyone. So long as you become integrated into the community it actually may be easier, despite there being less people paradoxically.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/25 03:36 AM
1

It's just the paradox of choice but applied to dating. Men would presumably be unhappy too with that many choices. You don't need a source to tell you that humans become unhappy with the excess of options.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/25 12:56 AM
1

Psychology, there's an optimal amount of choices around 6 iirc. With too many you start to become unhappy. Not necessarily a women only thing, but a human thing. When faced with too many choices the brain short circuits.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/25 12:53 AM
1

That stuff that you do is still valuable, regardless of what women think. 100k blue collar. That's pretty impressive.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/25 12:44 AM
1

Yup, that's the red pill. That good man shit, y'know being the provider, doesn't actually attract women. Unless you're already in a relationship with them. They're attracted to badboy types, or at least those are the types that they sleep with casually.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/25 12:41 AM
2

Looks aren't as subjective as people make them out to be. You can tell what level of attractiveness you are by looking in the mirror (literally) and making an honest assessment of yourself, and you need knowledge of conventional beauty standards as well. If you're dating a guy who's model level, and you're more average then you're likely to get played, or 'pumped and dumped'.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/25 07:14 PM
2

Even if you're right. This is still just one massive ad hominem attack. You're not addressing the points he made and how they are wrong it's just "this guy is an insecure resentful loser lol"
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/25 06:24 PM
5

There's a difference between the data and the interpretation of the data. The data itself is irrefutable but we shouldn't think that means that are conclusions drawn from the data are irrefutable. In fact from what I've seen most people on here draw hasty conclusions from a very small sample size, and don't consider other factors for why the data may be how it is, or they use the data as confirmation for what they already believe.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/25 06:53 PM
5

A lot of people of people on this sub are lazy with their generalizations though, and in that way it does more harm than good. If we're going to generalize it ought to be based on actual studies, or at least some form of evidence.
