They want to gain the favour of the woman so they can possibly get laid. For children, they’re just naturally seen as less capable so there’s an inherent inclination to help them and teach them. On the flip side, men are thought to be able to take care of things on their own and shouldn’t need a hand to hold.

Right well these guys really are pathetic

I don’t know what to think about the whole “nice guy” thing. I always see people on here say “if he has to say he’s nice, that means he isn’t nice. If he acts very nice, that means he’s secretly masking malicious intentions”, and it’s like wtf, sounds like people just don’t like nice guys so they have to create a reason for them to hate them in their minds. It just makes no sense when people complain about “toxic masculinity” and violence amongst men, but then also hate on men who are the opposi…

What exactly is “the magician” though? A charming individual who cons people for money? Lol

Ah so these are conceptual archetypes from a men’s self help book. Cool. I feel like an individual can exhibit traits which would fall into multiple of these categories though, like they’re not exclusive to themselves. I feel like there should be more too, I don’t feel like I would align with any of these archetypes. What about “the hermit”? That would be fitting for me

The fuck is this

I do. And even if I didn’t, what difference does that make? You asked what rights do men not have and I gave you an example, wether I care or not is irrelevant. You’re basically trying to switch the goal post because you weren’t expecting to hear social issues that men face so quickly and you came here in bad faith.
/r/MensRights08/05/22 10:41 PM

Yeah. But that only applies to men so I’m not sure why you’re like trying to shift the goal post now

Here’s one easy one off the top of my head, men in Ukraine don’t have the right to flee the country and are forced to stay and die for soil and nationalism

Checked it out, what an echo chamber of hate. Reverse the genders and that shit would be removed in days.

How? Because I said “completely”? Now you’re resorting to pedantic non arguments as if my point wouldn’t apply either way? Same thing as your “trait” vs “example” nonsense. Get shit on.

No, I provided an example of a feminist who’s exhibits ideals and beliefs that don’t precisely conform to the traits that you’ve described. You said all feminists conform to a tee, I said no that’s generalizing, you said provide an example where the hypothetical women doesn’t conform, I did. The trait that she believes men dominate society was untrue. You’ve made no meaningful points this entire time. You’re right, we’re done. Lol
/r/MensRights17/04/22 08:12 PM
-1

No, you said provide one example so I only provided one example. You just decided she agrees with the rest because you’re doing the same thing you did in your last reply. What I said quite literally dismantles your claim that all feminists conform to those exact traits with no variance.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 08:01 PM
-1

No lmao. This hypothetical feminist believes there’s an issue in society that effects women at a higher rate so it needs to be addressed and corrected. No one said anything about her believing all men to be innately evil due to the actions of a few, you literally made that up yourself so you had a counter argument. You’re literally making your own issues up because if not, you had no actual counter arguments. You know that’s where your entire stance falls apart.

Okay, let say for example, a woman considers herself a feminist but doesn’t believe society is completely male dominated. She may think society is more fair than it used to be, but there are still some things that require advocating for as they may effect women more frequently. Let’s say, sexual harassment for example. She may think there’s a need to bring awareness to it, consider herself a feminist, without believing society is completely dominated by men, just that some men are assaulting wom…

So your claims come from anecdotes and “study” with zero statistical evidence to back it up. AGAIN you’ve utterly failed to prove that all flavours of feminism conform to the traits you’ve described, exactly the way you described them to be, and only those traits. I would tag the post in a reply to you. You don’t have to watch my profile for hours on end. Lol
/r/MensRights17/04/22 07:26 PM

You are lacking nuance and it’s obvious as to why. Read between the parenthesis again. You’ve also failed to prove your proclamations, despite ascertaining that they’re absolute. Again, we’ll see if I decide to make the post or not. The “name calling” was one sentence out of an entire post, the rest of it was pretty “useful” in this discussion I think. Watching my profile is pretty weird, you seem to be a chronically online person. There’s life outside of the internet, my friend.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 07:20 PM

I’ve explained why you’re lacking nuance (generalizing and putting the entirety of feminist into one tiny box). I think it comes from a cherry picked selection of the feminist media you’ve consumed. Also sorry I didn’t know my cheeky name calling would hurt your feelings that much. Maybe I’ll make the post and get some diverse feminist views. I’ll debate if it’s embarrassing enough or not for me to care this much about a Reddit argument. Hold your horses but don’t get your hopes up
/r/MensRights17/04/22 07:09 PM

No, I’m saying not all feminists believe in patriarchy solely in the exact ways you’ve described it to be. I’ve never claimed to be an expert either, just someone who uses common sense and see’s the faults in generalizing entire groups of people so we can demonize all of them. That’s literally the same thing problematic feminists do, which is what you claim to be standing against. Bit ironic, no? Do you really want me to go make a post asking for some feminists with differing views and opinions …
/r/MensRights17/04/22 06:57 PM

Saying feminism is a broad spectrum isn’t a generalization, it’s quite opposite actually as it’s literally describing the broadness of views assocIated with any political movement or group of people. A generalization would be declaring they all fit into one small box and every single one of them shares the same views, which is what you’re doing. It’s actually embarrassing how you’re still trying to argue this. The first wave of feminism was based on opposing a patriarchy which absolutely did exi…

Where did I make generalizations about feminism? You didn’t “lay it all out there” either, nor did you accurately explain the “foundations of feminism”. You chose very few specific examples, or “traits” since that’s the term you prefer, which also coincide with your narrative. Like I said, it’s a bit more nuanced than that obviously.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 06:21 PM
0

Not because I say so, because it’s applicable here regardless of wether you or I say it is. No, I never said that. I’m saying some feminists may think men are innately evil, some certainly don’t. What’s with people and making these gross generalizations?
/r/MensRights17/04/22 05:56 PM
-1

Traits and examples can be used synonymously here. Also, there can be more “traits” that you haven’t listed, and my entire point still applies regardless of what specific language you want to use lol
/r/MensRights17/04/22 05:45 PM

They may believe in patriarchy, but not in the few examples you’ve given it as. They may believe some examples, but have a more nuanced position on it. Things aren’t so black and white like this

Yes
/r/MensRights17/04/22 05:31 PM

I mean why do you think women’s rights movements had to be created? Women genuinely were oppressed by these things not long ago, you don’t think feminism has evolved as times changed and now there are feminists with different views now that things are different?
/r/MensRights17/04/22 05:24 PM
-1

Yes. I don’t think entire groups of people should be generalized and we shouldn’t assume they all think the exact same because it’s just…fucking stupid?
/r/MensRights17/04/22 05:20 PM

I actually got into it with some people using toxic masculinity bullshit just a few days ago. I’m not anti men’s rights if that’s what you think

I said I’ve been coming here for less than a week, and pretty infrequently. Thanks though, I’ll take a look at these in the morning. It’s nearly 7 am where I am, time for me to sleep

I’d need evidence for all these claims you’re making, including the claim that most feminists repeat the propaganda of the “leaders”, before I can make a comment on them and consider them fact. If everything you say is true, then yes these are issues we need to resolve. Who are the leaders of feminism anyway? Is there like a list or something? That’s who we should be going after then.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 10:38 AM

“You need atleast 80% of women identifying as feminist, 61% just won’t cut it for me” Okay buddy 😂
/r/MensRights17/04/22 10:25 AM

Yeah some of them. And of that portion, some of their views and opinions will differ.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 10:14 AM
1

It’s not only feminists who are making them leaders.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 10:07 AM
1

Remember when I said majority of women? But you keep falling back on this cop out because you have no actual arguments? And when I replied with a source showing a majority of women surveyed called themselves feminists (the most recent source), you tried claiming it’s unreliable because it didn’t conform to your narrative?
/r/MensRights17/04/22 10:02 AM
1

So then you’re just falling back on the same issue we discussed like 4 comments ago, don’t make dumb generalizations. Not every feminist in a position of leadership is out to get men either. Some are sure, but we need to target the individual and not the entire group of people they may share some views and opinions with.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:57 AM
1

No. Feminism isn’t its own political party. They’re a leader who happens to also be a feminist, not a leader of the feminist movement itself. Feminism is a broad spectrum and it can mean different things for different people, it’s not a strict dogma.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:50 AM
1

Correct, but we can’t assume they absolutely aren’t then either.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:42 AM
1

That’s not the case though, I see posts on here and comments going after feminism as a whole.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:40 AM
1

And what do their actions say? In my initial post I literally say it’s unwise to generalize entire groups for the actions of a few. Are there bad feminists? Yes. Do they represent the actions and values of feminism as a whole? No. We shouldn’t fall into the same faulty modes of thinking that those bad feminists do, because if we do then we’re no better. I’m for men’s rights, I’m not for men vs women. Those two still aren’t comparable either even though I understand what you’re trying to say now.…
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:32 AM
1

Yeah. I just don’t understand your analogy. Maybe it’s your broken English and the meaning got lost in translation.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:19 AM
1

Well if we extrapolate the increase trend then we would assume even more women would identify as feminists in 2022. Also if we’re using that same logic, your sources that conform to your narrative are also unreliable, as they were also polls subject to these factors. That’s also why I corrected myself and said majority of women since you seemed hung up on and still do.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:18 AM
-2

I’m not trying to see “like minded posts”, I think you should reread my initial comment. And are you trying to compare feminism to nazism?
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:14 AM
0

It really isn’t, it can be a change on the individual level on that particular day of the political views of the people surveyed. Things like this are possible, considering such a small fraction of the population is being surveyed. Feminism has also grown more popular especially amongst younger people and those polls actually show that.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:09 AM
-1

Not really. You just want it to be because it went against your narrative.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:05 AM
-2

That isn’t proof it’s incorrect lmao
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:03 AM

This source is newer than the others posted. While saying anti feminist is being anti women may not be entirely accurate, considering that this poll implies most women are feminists, to correct myself it would mean you’re going against the majority of women. You didn’t actual prove that my source is incorrect.

https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/07/07/61-of-u-s-women-say-feminist-describes-them-well-many-see-feminism-as-empowering-polarizing/ This one says 61% of women surveyed would consider themselves a feminist, albeit 42% said “somewhat well”, probably to avoid associating with feminist extremists (which I agree are a problem). 61% would be a majority, this is specific to the US though.

And how exactly do you know that?
/r/MensRights17/04/22 08:24 AM

To be fair, the UKgov pol only asked roughly 1000 women and the ones across Europe asked roughly 1000 people in total per country.

Yeah you’re right, but this place also often seems like an echo chamber as well. We gotta have some self awareness while we’re here too, right?
/r/MensRights17/04/22 08:12 AM

I don’t recall saying they were. I’m willing to bet that a good majority of women consider themselves a feminist though, considering that feminism was meant to be about advocating for women’s rights. I’d think most women advocate for women’s rights. I didn’t say mods should ban differing opinions on this sub either so idk what you’re crying about there
/r/MensRights17/04/22 08:08 AM

That’s why I said “on the surface level when viewing it on the internet”. Most women I see on this website are feminists, I’d also assume most women irl would consider themselves one. Idk maybe I’m wrong, I admittedly never interact with people in the actual world.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 08:06 AM

It kind of is though, we all know the majority of women would consider themselves a “feminist”.

If you go to the hot posts listing and scroll down you’ll quickly find a post titled “toxic femininity”, and there’s a few more posts talking about “feminists” and painting them as the enemy. “Incel is the new slut” posts also declares feminists as the perpetrators and the enemy.

I’m probably gonna get downvoted to hell for this but I kinda agree with you. I joined this sub less than a week ago and was disappointed to see that a lot of posts were just anti woman and seem to be created by bitter individuals. Some of them don’t even really have anything to do with men’s rights. Having said that, I’ve also seen quite a few posts that do genuinely spread awareness about injustices that men face in society, and there’s also been good discourse involved. I think one thing we n…
