You're totally right.... it'll probably turn out bad for ms. nurse. however it still pains me to see such rabid hate from posters here when the details simply aren't known. Imagine if the genders were reversed, would [some of] you still jump to the conclusions you are now?

Yeah I read it, but I don't remember it well. I recall the man-up quote, but the rest of it is vague in my memory. You're definitely right though - we don't know what her intentions were. Maybe if/when more details are published we could get a better idea. I hope someone follows up with that link when its available... Because the story is rather interesting and could honestly go either way, we might be surprised, and all the people calling her a thieving manhating junkie bitch could be entirely …

actually JUST the 'man up' part sounds sexist. and even then it's just a junkie being a junkie, come on guys, do you really think this woman did it because she hates men or something? lol. Why do you latch onto such insignificant details? Literally every single wrong committed by a woman against a man is a "men's rights" issue to you guys. Why do you have to reach so desperately to uncover a shred of injustice towards your gender? seriously this is a huge stretch to say it has anything to do wit…

Lol, another thing that cracks me up. You guys mocking women with the whole 'tee hee cuteness' thing. You are shooting yourself in the foot, just letting you know. I don't disagree with your cause but I think a lot of the articles posted here are reactionary, sensationalist, and unnecessary and detract from your real goal. I'm just a dumb girl though what do I know, tee hee! ::bats eyelashes::

Lol I love when you guys make 2xc comments. Next you'll ask if it's my time of the month. Sorry bro but this wasn't a sexist comment it was just a stupid one and you guys are getting all bent out of shape for absolutely no reason yet again.

except...not really. The author makes a (definitely silly, maybe even stupid) comment about MEN in particular who are anti-abortion. Just because she doesn't happen to mention the WOMEN against abortion doesn't mean she's saying they don't exist. Don't be so reactionary. It's not all about you.

And what exactly is your point here? I feel that you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel to find something to be outraged about.

that site is hilarious....thanks for bringing it to my attention. also you might want to consider maybe not posting such sensationalist thread titles when the article doesn't really mention anyone ACTUALLY going to jail. a teeny little tangent paragraph near the end of the story is NOT the point of the story. very misleading. bad mens-crusader! bad!

it actually hasn't blown up in his face. he is not in any sort of legal trouble, in fact the title of this thread is misleading because the article really has nothing to do with sanchez going to jail for dating jailbait.

I was thinking the exact same thing and I'm from this country lol. wtf? I don't watch the superbowl, the ads, or tv in general, so watching this entire clip was actually pretty disturbing to me...heh. also this thread is ridiculous.

uh...right. nice save. anyway just because it's obviously a ridiculous thing to say doesn't mean there aren't a BUNCH of men who think it sounds totally awesome to torture and kill women who make false rape claims.
/r/MensRights29/01/11 06:49 AM

Um, yeah. I got that. I was saying it doesn't look like this particular incident is a false rape claim situation. But now that you bring it up again, your opinion is rather disturbing. I don't condone false rape charges by any means, obviously. But death row? Torture? Seriously?! Wtf is wrong with you?

your approach anxiety was the smart half of your brain getting you to sit this one out. don't bother girls at the gym! please, and thank you.

well....to be fair, it sounds like this woman really was raped. At least, there were foreign skin cells under her fingernails, which is what exonerated this poor guy. So...it's possible it was an honest, horrible mistake in identifying the guy..... This story is fucked up, I can't believe it's not a federally mandated thing to compensate wrongly imprisoned people. Absolutely blown away.

"Judge Richard Hawkins increased Thomas' sentence from six years to seven years because of the homophobic nature of the attack. But given the time Thomas had spent in custody awaiting trial, she would be released in two-and-a-half years, the Daily Mail reported."

this isn't about gender at all....another post in mens rights I'm confused about. This girl is an atrocious bitch who murdered a gay man and laughed about it. She deserves extreme punishment, more than 7 years or 2 years or wtfever. But she's not a misandrist. She didn't do it because she hates men. She hates GAYS. Not saying that's any better at all or justifying her defense, obviously. But just because the victim was a man doesn't really mean it is relevant to this subreddit. Is it? If a racis…

well, here in MY non-fortune 500 company, both maternity and paternity leave are paid and covered by insurance. sorry that your company doesn't have as great of benefits, vOv what are your thoughts on the actual issue at hand though? since you apparently don't get paid time off for childbirth, do you think the mom in the family should be the one to always get up in the middle of the night?

um, okay. pretend I never mentioned snoring then? what about the rest of my response?

men can certainly have parental leave from work. are you talking about maternity/paternity leave? because I've personally witnessed a few dads go on official paternity leave when their kids are born. but I don't think the author of this article was talking about that. She's talking about the 18 years after kids are born, summarizing studies that proclaim women are still pretty much expected to sacrifice sleep for their kids' random needs or husband's snoring habits, even if they work outside the…

now now. reading up on everything won't solve everything... :) in fact, you're the one trying to lecture me on something you probably read from a book, I'm just trying to offer a real life female perspective.vOv I'm sure I'm wrong though. ;p Honestly though I do have to admit: I'm sure a lot of women play those silly 'shit test' games. BUT---I don't think the 'I have a boyfriend' line is as....well-used as you might. IMO when women say they have a bf it means they really don't want you to press …

I really really wish people would post a little statement or something of WHY they think a submission is relevant to a subreddit, especially in cases like this where it's kinda convoluted. I know, you don't have to, but I too wondered wtf this was doing in MensRights. If you had clarified at the beginning it would've helped. I agree with DRByrd(cue reactive shittalking!) that a lot of stuff posted here is woman-bashing ridiculous crap that doesn't really have much to do with "mens rights". Sorry…

What I'm saying is the "poor you, not everyone can be awesome" is NOT A PASS for a 'shit test'. First of all, if I use the boyfriend card when I DON'T have a boyfriend, it's because I am entirely uninterested in you. Sorry. I think more women than you'd might want to believe are this way. We're not "testing" you, we're hinting to you to go away, or at the very least to please not make it awkward with some sort of proclamation of attraction. Therefore, when someone retorts with 'hurf lol i'm sorr…

I still want you to clarify your question. What do you mean by "it works"? when the subject is a girl who says she has a boyfriend and you reply with a knee-jerk, asinine response like "aw, too bad, we can't all be awesome", what is a typical reaction from this girl that would constitute as that technique "working", to you? I'm honestly curious here. What are you trying to accomplish by saying something so bitchy?
/r/seduction23/01/11 02:08 AM

I agree. But that one in particular is just obnoxious and dumb. vOv

Mocking a girl for saying she has a boyfriend works? I'm sorry, what universe are you in? What do you even mean by "works"?! I'm confused. Any girl that "goes for" that type of childish response is probably equally immature and vapid, but maybe that's your type anyway.

you don't WANT to know when a potential witty comeback you've thought up is actually really stupid? too bad, I'll still chime in. ;P

How does your ridiculous, sensationalist headline convey that you are seeking a "why" to the situation, and not just bitching about how evil women are? You literally state that men do "more" than women and that as a result we are so "insecure" about it we seek revenge against you. I don't even understand where you got all this doing more and insecurity shit from the article.

I agree. This is ridiculous. What would you say to a woman acting the way you are, op? If she had been stalked or assaulted by a few guys in the past, and now refused to deal with ANY men whatsoever - to the point of obnoxiously demanding female service workers whenever she needs anything (not thinking at all about their staffing / scheduling processes of course) ... wouldn't you scoff at that? The women who burned you had some crazy emotional fucked up issues with you. That's really fucked up, …
