I love seeing bell hooks here!! I was reading some of her work on class consciousness the other day and she's such an incisive writer. I can't wait to explore more of her writings. (Some might not know this, but hooks's name is stylized in all lowercase, much like the poet e e cummings.)

Love this! Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, I just wanted to chime in and say that rubber gloves were invented out of love, too. A man created them for his wife (both doctors) when he noticed how chapped her hands were. Wikipedia Source

Could I PM for a code as well? I've been lurking there for a while and I know you only have so many to give out.

Not who you asked, but I'm also a lady military officer. Yes, married servicewomen also get paid more. Simply put, pay is calculated based on your rank and how many "dependents" (spouse/children) you have.

Reminds me of that Fitzgerald quote, "No, sir, the girl really worth having won't wait for anybody."

Glad you said this -- I wanted to say something but was too shy. I come to this community for open-minded discussion about how to find high value people, and I love the diversity of opinions we have from both religious and non-religious HVW. I do not come to this sub to see my faith put down. Y'all will really be frustrated with men who can't live on their own and then laugh at a system that sends them out to live on their own and forces them to develop those skills.

I saw the movie with one of my girlfriends and absolutely LOVED it! I'm super excited that it's available to stream now so that more women have access to it (and so I can watch it again sometime, haha). I agree with you about the ending too. Before I saw the film I had read a bit of discussion here about it, and heard that many users didn't like the ending, so I was wary. Ultimately though, I was satisfied with how it ended. It felt true to life, just like you said, and I also think it was very …

No lie, watching old Yu-Gi-Oh episodes is what got me through my undergraduate thesis! There have been so many great comments in this thread -- I personally watch and enjoy anime, but would absolutely see being an anime fan (aside from just enjoying Studio Ghibli) as an amber/red flag in a man. I feel that this group often has similar conversations about things we enjoy/hobbies we participate in that would be cause for concern from a man. For example, I really enjoy a lot of Bukowski poetry, and…

Girl, I just want to say that you ARE lovable -- you are absolutely a unique human being with valuable traits and skills. I took a quick glance at your comment history (so sorry to be a snoop, I just wanted to have something tangible to compliment you on), and you consistently present yourself as polite, professional, and helpful! That's even more evidence supporting how lovable YOU are. I'm so sorry this boy hurt you like this; you don't deserve to be treated poorly. I know I'm just a newbie he…

He is the Martian Manhunter, a green-skinned super hero who is part of the Justice League. Pretty similar to Superman, in that he's not a human but he cares a lot about helping/protecting others. Hope that helps!

Wow, I really love this. Lately I've been thinking a lot about some toxic friendships I've had, and while those people are no longer part of my life sometimes I catch myself thinking about the good memories I share with them. Seeing this helps me feel at peace -- I can acknowledge that we had some good times together while also knowing that ultimately they were not good people to me.

Stardew Valley has such a special place in my heart, and I totally agree with you! Great music, great atmosphere, super calming to play. I'm glad to see that some HVW do enjoy a little bit of gaming -- I think it's fine as long as you have self-control and can focus on the real world too.

So much in this thread is resonating with me. While at lunch with some classmates in college, I once jokingly told a classmate that I wasn't afraid to spill my water on him because of the dumb jokes he was making. His response was to threaten to beat me up (he gave a vivid description) and then preemptively defended this stance with "equal rights, equal fights." I know this story isn't super related to the post, but comments like yours are making me finally understand why that situation made me …

Yes, I agree! I am new to FDS and am working my way through the handbook, but I really appreciate the posts I have seen where women share more "specific" details, like how they communicate the way they expect to be treated -- providing scripts that I find very useful.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
