It all depends on what happens to the kid(s) after the divorce. If he got full custody of the kid(s), he wouldn’t be making payments to his ex anyway, except in a very small quantity of really fucked up cases. If he’s the primary caregiver through the last few months or weeks of the marriage, while it may give him a slightly greater chance of getting primary custody, if his wife takes the kids after the marriage, he’ll probably end up paying child support anyway.

Good advice for the most part, but I’d recommend caution. I’ve heard that it’s become somewhat common in divorces nowadays for women to request the same absurd rates of child support based on a man’s potential income. That means you can quit a 75K / year job, go through the divorce unemployed, and still end up paying the same amount you’d pay if you still had that same job.

To an extent, but it varies based on who you ask. For me, I was always more interested in feeling love, rather than sex, back when I was still into dating and saw it as a worthwhile use of my time. Even today, after the entirety of my sexual interests in women have disappeared, I still sometimes miss the attachment and happiness from being with someone I really liked.
