Exactly. Nobody chooses who they are attracted to.

I obviously agree with the ideas that: - women can be abusive; - some acts of violence are excused more easily if they come from a woman (e.g. slaps). I'd add that violence coming from men is also sometimes excused by some people (e.g. some people partially or completely excuse men who harass or even rape women in case the woman wore provocative cloths). So it seems to me that there is injustice on both sides.

Actually, both men and women prefer romantic partners that are agreeable : https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0191886906000900

Okay but the reverse is true: mens' preferences aren't evenly distributed. Men generally prefer women that are small, have prominent buttocks, thick thighs, are agreeable (women also like agreeable men, of course), etc.

I agree I agree with the weak statement that men are generally more horny than women, but I disagree with the strong statement that "a woman putting her hands all over you showing signs she would jump you at the first opportunity is agood thing from a male perspective". As you said in the weak statement, men are generally more horny than women but that doesn't mean ALMOST ALL men are horny ALL THE TIME. It's a sexist and very dangerous thought. Again, it seems to me that it's more complicated th…

You're right! Gender inequalities can sometimes be solved solely by social progress, but not always. Sometimes, gender inequalities would require genetic modifications to be solved, like when men are perceived as more threatening because of their physical traits.

So you're saying you do judge women based on their body count?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/25 06:55 AM

As a man, I agree: we should all accept each others' romantic/sexual preferences.

It seems to me that 'men are more interested in sex than women are interested in money' is sexist, both for men and women.

I think it's inefficient to try to fight sexism with sexism.

I'm afraid I disagree with that. Not approaching a person and not wanting to date a person is morally fine. We're not morally obliged to date people (however nice they may be), and we're not responsible for the sorrow of the people we respectfully reject. That being said, I totally agree with the idea that some people deeply suffer from never attracting anyone. I'm one of them: I've been actively searching for love for over 6 years now, without success, and I've been through a lot of suffering. …

I salute your will to justify women's average preference for tall man. That being said, this preference is not due to a conscious choice. Humans don't choose who they are attracted to. It's natural selection and our current environment that chose that. And the fact that women prefer tall men (and that men prefer small women) on average is primarily due to genetics. A better justification for women's average preference for tall men is simply that this preference doesn't harm anyone. This is the c…

Because when men say it, it's the set up for some misogynistic conclusion Sometimes, but not always. A few months ago I said on a relatively feminist subreddit that women are more selective than men on average and got downvoted (which I don't mind by the way) even though I think nobody is responsible for this and it's just how nature is. So sometimes negative reactions from women come from prejudice and not from the man's real opinion. But I agree: a man who says it sometimes hide misogynist vie…

What men's advantages are you referring to?

To me, it seems problematic to pressure individuals to do a thing (except when not doing this thing is immoral).

I agree with the descriptive statement that women are more selective than man on average. On the other hand, I think it's important to say that, while it disadvantages men, nobody is responsible for that: it's just how nature is.

I agree: such things happen. Just very rarely.

It took me many tries with different titles to have this post approved by the mods actually. So they didn't chose the title, you did. Right? Again, I have read your post. It's just that I disagree with the title (just like you, it seems).

Then I agree with you. But you titled the post "Women should approach more" and I disagree with that title.

I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear. What I'm saying is that, while it happens, I think it happens very rarely for each given person. However, there are 8 billions humans on Earth so one should expect to see thousands of videos like that on the internet.

I'd be more than happy if women approached men more. But I disagree with the idea that they "should" approach more. Approaching is a personal choice and we shouldn't put pressure on people.

Hi! I only found this number on this website. It doesn't come from a published paper, and the author doesn't even reveal his full name, so I'm a bit doubtful. However if you have more solid source than that, please share them!

This is just my personal experience (I live in France, maybe it's different in your country) but I've approached hundreds of women and it has not affected my reputation in any way. Women who don't want to talk to me just respond negatively and/or go away. They never record my face or whatever.

Not the dream scenario of being cold-approached by a stone-cold hottie, but just having miscellaneous women you pass in the grocery or the coffee shop propositioning you to go get ice cream one night next week — would that really be desirable for most men? It would not happen often. It would happen at most a few times per month for the top 5% of men, but it would never happen on a daily or even a weekly basis. Indeed, women themselves are rarely approached. (Yes, they are way more approached tha…
