The Tough Mudder I've been training for was last weekend. Despite being a mile longer and 10,000 feet elevation higher, I beat my time in my first race in March by almost an hour thanks to the training I've been doing. Ongoing training for the Tough Mudder in Colorado at 10,000' next month. Been traveling from near sea level to 5900' to hike near 7800', noticing improvements in how far I can run uphill at altitude. I built a tall salmon ladder/gymnastics rings setup. The rings are a nice thing to have, but I recommend paying more for wooden rings. The knobs in the molded plastic ones start to hurt your fingers. I want to try a marathon run Yeah jogging isn't my sport. Even in High School I was prone to shin splints. Now, its not only my shins, but my knees can't handle the pounding either, so I bike (and swim where possible) for cardio/endurance. Thanks for the input. I've no doubt I could get through the course today. I don't want to be one of those fops who immediately fall off the overhead bars, huff over the obstacles with much help, and dawndle like mall walkers. This was a big thing in the early 90s, I remember hearing FM-2030 on the radio a few times. To me it's a little early to take this seriously; elective direct genetic tampering with human embryos isn't a legal, available option as yet, and we haven't discovered a black obelisk on the moon either.
