I was, but the problem was that I really couldn’t do anything about it. This wouldn’t happen at all if they didn’t discriminate based on my gender, assuming that a man must have a high pain tolerance. Hell, my sister had a sprained ankle and they gave her all the pain relief she wanted. Same hospital, too.

Well, I once went to the hospital because I had a dislocated shoulder. I’m not that great with pain, so when I requested at least local anesthesia (which they can give, I checked), they laughed at me and had me sit in the waiting room until I “toughen up,” while the doctors and nurses would come every 30 minutes to belittle me for being a “baby that can’t handle a little pain.” So I sat there with it dislocated for almost six hours. In the end, they finally gave me some pain relief, but at that …

I’ve also heard the allegory that they’re sitting by a polluted lake full of pirahnas, waiting for a goldfish to jump out, not wanting to fish in a clean pond full of goldfish a few steps away

Cool, so you can see that it was not the solution. The same way the same things being suggested in the article are wrong. Thank you for supporting men’s rights.

An example of “reductio ad absurdum” which shows how ridiculous the claim in the linked article would be if the genders were reversed

I wrote this before, I’ll write it again: Imagine the uproar from today’s women if in the 1900s, women were told to “tackle their hysteria” by “joining homemaking clubs” and learning how to “step up for their husbands like a real feminine woman”

Very poorly. I never finished any university, so I’m constantly stressed about getting fired and not finding another job. Because I never got help when I needed it the most, I discovered that society just doesn’t care about me and would prefer me to just die and disappear. So that’s what I’m probably gonna do at some point.

No party of working people exists in the USA, because it gets instantly infiltrated and steered towards feminist idpol, or banned. The focus on idpol is by design, because it prevents the unification of workers, and that’s one of the ways the system prevents its destruction.

Yeah, the problem is that the USA doesn’t have the “left,” all it has is “left of far right.” I say this as someone who doesn’t live in the USA, if the Democrats were a party here, they would be far-right, and Republicans would be banned for being extreme far-right.

The problem is not about parents. My sister’s problems were caught by the school itself; neither she nor my parents had to move a finger. My parents did have more interest in her, however, in schooling, they treated us both the same: that is, with apathy. Until the school got involved. My school forced my parents to start taking interest in her, to “continue helping her at home,” so they did. While for me, the school told them what I said above, and my parents doubled down on their apathy. One t…

I struggled a lot in school because I was severely depressed due to social ostracization because I’m autistic. When I was struggling, I got absolutely no help. All I got was “if you are struggling this much, maybe you’re just not smart enough and should just drop out” and “your stupidity is causing problems for the rest of the class. You’re holding them back.” And let’s not forget that whenever I’d fail a test, the teacher would loudly announce to the entire class: “aaah, VeryThinBoi, the worst …

The classic hypoagency vs. hyperagency argument. Even my therapist acknowledged it and said they are taught about it in school, but when I mentioned this on Reddit, I got torn to shreds

In most countries, women literally legally cannot be rapists. UK law literally only considers rape if it’s done my a man, with a penis There’s also the issue of sexual assault being denigrated to “sexual relationship” when it’s done by a woman, as a result of the women-are-wonderful effect, the hyperagency/hypoagency dichotomy between men and women, respectively, and the consideration of female sexuality being inherently “good” and male sexuality being “bad;” this results in female-perpetrated s…

I don’t even want to imagine the negativity if in the past, women’s problems were “tackled” by creating “homemaking clubs” to “fix hysteria”

That is completely wrong. Start by watching this video, and then I can tell you about all the instances female readers of my erotica threatened to rape me. Male and female porn the the same thing. They’re designed to make the part of your brain responsible for arousal fire up. Both are porn, the only difference is that male porn is stigmatized to shit, while female porn… well, read your comment.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates19/11/25 08:51 AM

Definitely. This is something I have unique experience with, because I used to write erotica for men to make pocket money in the past. I got harshly criticized for catering to “male fantasies” that are “misogynist” and “unrealistic and hurtful towards women.” I mainly wrote femdom stories where female characters would take the lead and do all the work in the relationship and sex. No matter what society says about men not reading erotica, my stories were very popular with men, even though I also …

Thank you for your comment. My struggle with anorexia was (and still is) similar. It doesn’t help that I also have a quite feminine face. My grandparents would always make fun of me about how I “don’t eat anything, and don’t like the food they’re making.” Then my sister would accuse me of trying to “take the spotlight from female victims of anorexia, who are in much more need of help than (me)” when I finally got enough courage to tell my family (who were so neglectful they didn’t even notice I …

Mathematically, yes, but in the context of the book, it seems to me like another small devaluation of male problems. He doesn’t even address how much higher the male percentage is, and instead spends the whole section talking about how much of a problem the rise in the female rate is, before merging the percentages and not even giving a token acknowledgement to the higher male rate rise.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates17/11/25 09:58 AM

I agree that porn use is a problem, but if we’re going to go that way, I’d appreciate if he didn’t lump all male porn consumption into “hardcore” pornography, while also ignoring the prevalence and problems of female porn, aka. erotica, which, in addition, is often much more hardcore and not as stigmatized.

I’m not an American, but I live in a well-developed country. While I went to the doctor while growing up for preventative checkups, it consisted of measuring my height, weight, and that’s it. If I was in pain, the (female) doctor would just say “you’re a big strong man, walk it off.” When I was dealing with suicidal depression, it was “don’t try to take the spotlight from girls who are suffering more than you.” The constant diarrhea and stomach cramping? Just puberty and anxiety if they acknowle…

Definitely. I don’t know how she doesn’t see that I am beyond terrified of just talking to women. I’d say that what I experienced growing up around women made me very scared and suspicious of them. So much so that I am now in therapy, even though it doesn’t really help

Yeah, my sister was an okay person until she went down the TikTok feminism rabbit hole. Now she doesn’t want to talk to me, her own fucking brother, because “all men are scum, including you” and “if you could, you would rape any woman you’d see, including me.” Like, how the fuck do you say this to your own brother. She was also applying to join the army to be a girlboss there, but got rejected because her eyes are too bad. She blames this on “men” and “patriarchy” for some reason? Because her ey…

Good article. I have been suffering from suicidal depression since I was about 10 years old. When I went from a straight A student to failing half my classes, I remember it took the school years to suggest that I might need a therapist. Before that, they wanted to just kick me out with no help. I went, the therapist basically told be that I’m not trying hard enough and might actually be too stupid for school. So I got no help there and kept barely scraping by. Then as an adult, I couldn’t get di…

I wouldn’t take the hit if I had the choice. All these things were said by the women I had to interact with, mostly teachers and my mother. Honestly, I have never interacted with women much, and now, I am genuinely scared of them (one of the things I’m in therapy now is gynophobia). It’s a shame I only ever had one male teacher in my entire time in school, and I only had him for three months.

Women are more likely to get diagnosed and put into therapy. When I was suffering from depression and suicidality in school due to my mental conditions not being diagnosed, I was told the following: “Have you thought that you are just too stupid for school?” “Stop being difficult and man up” “Women have it worse” “You deserve to fail, if you really wanted to succeed, you would” “Just try harder, you have all this privilege, and you still fail? This is something I come across every day as a man suffering from BPD and CPTSD Recently, I tried reading a book about CPTSD, and the author kept referring to the reader as “she.” Every article that I’ve come across about BPD is about women, and about how your “husband” or “boyfriend” should accommodate you. And if it’s not explicitly about women, it’s implied so hard in various ways it’s obvious. There was even a book that I tried to read about how to effectively communicate in therapy, and aga…

Looking from the outside in, the whole “left = anti-male” thing is mostly talking about the American “left” (which would still be right-wing at best here). I live very far away from the US, and also am leftist. I’m pro-male, why wouldn’t I be? Why would I ignore half the workers?? That’s something I really don’t understand, not being American. It makes no sense to me at all.

The funny (and sad) thing about this approach shaming is that the considerate men who care about women’s feelings will really start believing that talking to any woman with romantic intent is harassment and stop approaching them, and the only men who will still do the approaching and initiating are assholes who don’t care about what women think or want. Way to go, feminism.

Yeah, I’m from this country. At my job, they needed to move some tables. I posted on this subreddit before about my anorexia. I’ve always been very conscious about how I look. I used to suffer (and still do, but a little less now) from pretty severe body image issues relating to my weight. I always felt like I had to have very low body fat percentage so that my abs would be showing. Eventually, I developed anorexia (and I’m officially diagnosed, last time some people were saying that I don’t actually have anorexia. I guess some people, even here, still believe that m…

She’s directly calling women weak. Yeah lol, that’s a prime example of mental dissonance. Women are strong and empowered, but suddenly, when you get a “female” disease, you’re considered weak. Funny how that works.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it! I was actually studying to become a court interpreter in university, so what you said is very relatable. Thank you, I understand. It’s no problem, being a little skeptical is good for being on the Internet. I did get some medication that should help, and there’s other medical options if it doesn’t (like different drugs). I’ve tried therapy multiple times in the past and it didn’t help at all. I don’t know what went wrong, but I’ve had multiple therapists of both genders, and they just never helped. So hopefully, the medications will.

I might have a slight Stockholm syndrome around my mom, but despite the horrible things she did, I’m where I am only thanks to her. When I was about to drop out of high school and jump in front of a train due to my depression being so bad, she went around and basically bribed the teachers so they wouldn’t fail me. Well, my mom has a very prestigious academic job (basically she is the director of an entire university) and my dad is a systems engineer. Pretty much. She’s always been spoiled. When I was growing up and wanted a phone, I had to take a “loan” from my parents. I’m not self-diagnosed though, I said that I have an official diagnosis. As a part of that, the doctors measure your frame to track your progress during treatment. I also have to wear female watches because even the smallest male watches are still too big for my wrist 😂 And like I said in the previous message: I know how to defend myself properly, it’s not about that. It’s about that primitive brain telling me that I’m not masculine and big enough to be respected / intimidating.

Yes, I do. I have been struggling with my body image for my entire life. I have not had any relationships until I was 24, so that did a number on my self-esteem that I still have not recovered from. Her entire viewpoint is that men rule the world. So when a man is struggling with something, it’s because he’s a defective man. Since men rule the world, any man that tries at least a little will always succeed, since he can draw on his privilege as a man to accomplish a goal easier than a woman would (since men are intentionally keeping women down, and lifting other men up).
