Reminds me of logging into msn or yahoo IM. I think I would have reflexively responded '10 seconds to prove not a bot'.

Maybe it's just because I saw so many marriages collapse during my childhood, but I've always felt it looked suspiciously like a trap. The traditional & romantic aspects serve as the bait, then people step into the legal part, and in a few years they realize they've got to gnaw off their foot to get out.

Deep in the underbelly of the Internet is a hidden corner known as the "Manosphere"— a collection of websites, Facebook pages and chat rooms where men vent their rage and spew anti-women rhetoric. This 'manosphere' group sounds a bit harsh. If I ever come across it while perusing the 'deep underbelly of the internet' I must remember to ask what their deal is, and why they've chosen such a silly name.

I think a lot of women equate erection with arousal and desire for a person, and thus, a guy wants it and "it's not really rape." To me it sounds stupid, but I suppose there are just people out there who think it. I've no idea anymore why the subject even came up, but I do remember having to explain the flaws in that assumption in the past (both to males and females) on a few occasions. Some are truly just stupid, but mostly it seemed like they'd learned the most obvious association (arousal) an…

Yeah I wouldn't expect many people to agree to that (not that I've ever tried) but, if she claimed not to have understood what was said, I gather it wasn't her reasoning in this case.

"I don't know what they said, but they were shouting something at me," "I'm afraid because I feel like they could be right behind me," Well from the looks of that she's either got very lousy hearing (/subtle headphones) or has trouble with your accent.

In case it's unclear I wasn't saying this approach would work, more trying to imagine what would happen if it was attempted.

I think she was implying that her consent should be considered void from the point that the conditions of that consent are no longer met, not that failing to meet the conditions would retroactively reverse her ever having consented at all. It just comes off that way because the story is told from her perspective and she didn't find out he'd been sleeping around (and so on) until later; from his perspective it wouldn't be retroactive since he would (one hopes) be aware in real-time that he had do…

I don't know if it would be any more correct this way, but to me it looks like the quote in that picture is being totally misunderstood. I read it as quite literally before they finish college - as in, from birth to finishing college (or perhaps the average age at which people finish college) 1 in 4 women are raped. While from the look of the statistics quoted in the picture to refute it, people are taking it to mean raped 'at college' or 'whilst enrolled in college'.

Your categorizing (wait... firefox? You mean this is a real word?) makes no sense. Yardwork isn't housework: clearly as the house sits amidst the yard, rather all housework is actually yardwork. Car maintenance is also yardwork, while motorcycle maintenance can be either yardwork or both, depending on your level of ambition, width of available doorways, and tolerance for cleaning oil out of the floor.

It seems like a lot of keystrokes could have been saved by simply taking into account that username.

I never realized so many people legitimately believed this wasn't physically possible. Not sure if I should be concerned or disappointed.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
