Ya this article is kind of lame and completely missed the target in my opinion. Talking about her being emotional over a glass and a man wouldn’t understand that right after he says “it’s not about the glass”…. Or that the man doesn’t need to understand it or agree just do it… if you don’t understand how it’s deeply disrespectful to leave a dirty dish on a counter top, as a grown as man, then you are stupid. For instance if a husband request his wife fill up the car before she comes home, and sh…

Most Therapist suck in general and finding a good one is very hard. I have had a woman therapist gaslight me and heard about another Female therapist who recommended an eating disorder to help a woman with a different eating disorder. It’s crazy out there.

100% agree. Being kind (IMO) doesn’t mean let people walk all over you. Absolutely stand up for yourself, I feel like this can be done with out the “savage” (as OP describes) part. I actually find it more “savage” not to sink to the scrote level.

Dignity is exactly what I am referring to. Not much dignity in being “savage”

You don’t need to meet with love either. Nor do I suggest turning other cheek. I suggest well thought out intelligent conversation. But you aren’t up to the task as you pointed out. I just hope you are at least up to the task of teaching your own progeny FDS values.

Contempt met with contempt, is just more contempt.. i had hoped this group was more about actually making positive changes to the patriarchal power that resides over our cultural and make a better place for our children. Teach our boys better, so that future will actually be possible for our girls? Am i wrong in that? And I have to say, I have often witness injustices in my day to day life and been able to enlighten people in a loving positive way ( yes to men) and it has always been well receiv…

I know I will be down voted for this but I have to disagree with some of this. Being nasty proves nothing, and as you said is basically what they are looking for. I think it’s completely fine to make a well worded statement on behalf of FDS values. If they want you to get worked up, the don’t. Yes there are obvious lost causes but I just feel like a HVW is a confident, intelligent woman who has class. She probably wouldn’t have to use Google to prove her point, and would know maybe this isn’t he…

Thank you for the post. We def need more people speaking up about there experiences with certain FDS principles. It give a chance as a group to learn and grow. 🙏🏻. “If he wanted to, he would. And then you start vetting”

Same! FDS has helped me see the injustice I have endured my whole life. If I can learn from you all and make sure the children that grow up around me understand these principles, I am going to do that. Just because I’m married to a HVM by pure luck doesn’t mean I have nothing to take away from the FDS experience. Or nothing to offer for that matter.

I was def joking about that part (her liking you)… it’s so unfortunate the brainwashing that women before us were subjected to. I too believe she has no idea how she is coming across or how problematic the suggest truly is.

It is hilarious that she is done with him and now trying to pawn him off on another woman to “handle” him… I would go back and politely as possible (or maybe just drop hints) that it is not acceptable for a person (in this case a woman) to recognize her son needs help, and is miserable to be around and push him into a relationship to be babysat. (Honestly, eww) It’s not healthy for the depressed individual and sounds miserable for said “fixee”. You are a smart lady, and either this woman is obli…

Take it from someone who has pursued a man… it sets a very bad presence for the entire relationship. They literally don’t have to do shit and will never do shit from start to finish. From the beginning they believe it’s all about them and will take it as far as they can… (I imagine it would be the ideal scenario for the “Peter Pan” and “Mammas boy” types.) share chores? Nope. Share bills? Nope. Ask you to move in? Nope. Ask you to get married? Nope… and so on and on and on! JUST DONT DO IT! IF H…

For sure! “If he wanted to, he would” has effected me profoundly and I will forever more live me life based on this sentiment. I mean it’s so true though. In our society men are (usually) completely unencumbered and walk this earth with the mindset they are “in charge” … so, whatever it is they want to do, they will. They have no reason to assume they cannot or should not do XYZ. So to the new girls and the people in the back, “if he wanted to, he would.”

Still coming to terms with this truth. I (35f) promise my future self and children I will never hold myself or them to this dated narrative! I am one of the ones that had to heal from trauma in my 20s and have plans to go back to school in the spring and the best part is I’m majoring in Horticulture and NOT fashion merchandising and art which is what I was made to believe was my only option! Young ladies you can do whatever you want and the timeline of your life is your own.

No it’s not you! It’s the creeps. You be sweet and polite and the light of some strangers day when all they needed was a smile from another soul. Don’t let this stop you from being the light. But also keep the pepper spray handy. Much love sister, I’m sorry this happens to you… I am actually surprised it was “eye contact” that was the “signal” and not the smile… like, wow, is that how pathetic it’s gotten out there!? lol

As other have said, we as HVF need to set the drama aside for a moment and actually accept what we are asking for. Yes, the whirlwind passion and intensity are fun for the first few months but when the dust settles (or when he thinks he “has you”) all the excitement is gone and we realize we have been bamboozled. As for OP, I say stick with him (as long as he & you are comfortable with). As you said it’s so hard to find HVM and you haven’t known each other long enough for there to be any “electr…

He has been doing that as well. He worked for the state all last year as a disaster relief medic, and got a lot of great hospital experience. I’m so proud of him, they are calling him back again and we can’t decide between the money or school. We are sticking with school for now.

My husband despises that sort of behavior because it reflects poorly on him as a paramedic as well. (Which is why he calls them out. ) He’s starting RN school soon and can’t wait to get out of the ambulance and into the hospital.

I started filling my husband in on the FDS and he is fully on board… that being said he HATES how low the bar is for men and now points it out whenever he can. He has a young female partner (paramedic) and is always helping push her in the right direction, he comes home and consults with me, then takes it back to her… Or if he sees or hears a male being LVM throughout his day he calls them out. I’m so proud of him. Sorry that was random, but reminded me when you mentioned the “low bar”.

I remember when my mom told me to make sure to freshen up and put makeup on before my hubby gets home. I understand the sentiment but the idea behind it is bogus. Moms reasoning: “he’s at work with put together professional woman all day, you don’t want to be the slob he has to come home to.” Why my husband says it’s not a thing for him (unprovoked, it just came up in conversation): “I love you, not the way you look. I don’t want anyone else because they aren’t you. “ I have to say that one kind…

Ok hun. Of course it is a thing. But for a sec I thought you meant like across the board and that is segregation. I do believe girls should be prepared so they are aware and can avoid danger. My biggest contributor to my past trauma with men was that I was extremely naive. Just saying girls should learn all about how awful they can be while living among them with strong female mentors to guide them through the nightmare it can be. Meant no offense.

That sounds a little extremist to me. And I don’t think that will be great for the next generation of men. The idea would be to make it a world where girls didn’t have to fear men and everyone can coexist. (For instance, it would be good for said girls to live and grow up with the opposite sex so they don’t have to continue to fear them. ) IMO.

I don’t have children (don’t know if I ever will) but I’m still going to everything I can to make this world a better place for the women and girls I leave behind. Together we can make a difference. Edit: just want to clarify, I want to make this world better for everyone men, woman and children boys and girls alike. When writing the above I was thinking in a different context, but you get the gist.

So I did this for my husband and this sub made me realize how much energy I put into building him up and have put aside my own value to help him see his. Luckily my husband is amazing and recognizes my complete support and effort input into his success. Now I stay at home and just reflect on what I want to do with my life. After a year I have finally come to a place where I know what I want to do and we are working together to make that happen. Disclaimer: my scenario is the exception and not th…

Right. Like of course a man would assume the low value label could only have everything to do with his looks and nothing to do with his ethics, chivalry/ manners, ambition and moral values. He has based this assumption on the one and only characteristic men have been able to come up with to rate and value woman for centuries. Doesn’t feel nice, huh? Thanks for proving their point, well done.

Yup. I’m so sick of man-splaining I could spit. This sub has opened my eyes to so many things. Like how sexist my FIL is. I have been able to identify a few things in my marriage I’m not completely happy with and I am now standing up for myself. Luckily my husband is a gentleman and is working with me on it, he will not be his father if I (we) have anything to say about it. Anyway, wish I had known about this sub sooner, but better late than never. Edit: typo
