I thought I had a group of plutonic friends, but they didn't care if I was around or not, and really only came to me for help and support when no one else would. So I gave up on that idea. We were genuinely close until I realized how they treated me and how my behavior was so much different when I was around them. I don't like discussing what I've gone through simply because it makes me feel like an attention whore.

In my opinion, as someone whose last partner has a very high body count, it affects a few things. We feel like more will be expected of us, we'll feel inadequacy against former partners, the issues of higher risk of being exposed to STIs, and many more issues that stem from it. I don't speak for all men, but that's my standing.
