These cases are always so hard because that seems like the appropriate punishment for being with 15 and 16 year olds. It's bad but not world shattering, about a year and the registry seems correct. (Optimally more like 3 years and no registration, but eh.) I'd be so fine with this if it weren't for how much different I know this would be if the offender were a man.

I think in 9/10 cases you're right, I think that what women receive is generally what's appropriate. In this particular case however I feel like the leniency is more a symptom of the defendants status in law enforcement than it is her gender, which is probably also why I feel like she wasn't sentenced harshly enough.

Personally, most men should receive lighter sentences, women generally get sentencing I would consider fair if it were the standard, and this particular psycho should be doing a hell of a lot more than 3 - 5. Then again, I don't represent the site or the movement so you're going to need more replies to get any sort of consensus.

It causes them to catch up and even surpass boys though, so theyre obviously not incapable, they just needed that encouragement. Instead of ruining that for them and limiting their potential, maybe we should just inflate everyones grades at that age. Not a lot and stopping by highschool, but kids are easily discouraged and if its even then no one should be skating in to anything because by college the inflation wont be false.

That's part of the problem, yeah, there are lots of different reasons for not voting all inflating that number. That's why I'm planning on spoiling my ballot next election, it gets the message across a little more clearly. Frankly, if I'd known about it before I would have done it then, but it hadn't occurred to me and no one had ever mentioned it.

I don't vote to make a point that I'm not happy not only with the options available, but with the way the system works as a whole. That's what makes pussypass and pussypassdenied difficult for me sometimes. A lot of stuff posted on either of these subs leaves me feeling like I wouldn't be satisfied with the woman getting a harsher punishment; instead I just feel deflated by the injustice males are punished with. I think there should be a moderate sentence for abusing a position of authority to have sex with someone (a year or so in jail maybe,) but that alone isn't full on rape, for male or female teachers.

While it's not right, I read (somewhere in another reddit thread so it might be bs) that guy had quite a few priors while the girls had clean records, and the day they released him on bail they caught him committing burglary. It's still not right and the women should have gotten hit harder, but it explains a bit of the prosecutions thought process, if it's true.

I identify more strongly with the mens rights movement than as an egalitarian because feminism is so strong. Much like how American politics now has right leaning democrats and ridiculously right winging republicans and little else, an egalitarian movement would leave us with a central movement and a pro-fem movement. There needs to be an equal and opposite reaction to keep feminism in check, although in a perfect world neither group would exist and we'd all be egalitarians.
