It is very justified. No one is going out of their way to put down the serious issue of male circumcision to further their own, this is merely an independent issue. By trying to dampen the importance of this story by claiming that yours is more important is as bad as the OP's accusation of people (this is very unclear) trying to play down the issue of male circumcision.

Wow, this is actually very embarrassing to see. This is like saying "since more women are raped than men, we should put down a male rape story for a female rape story." Something that activists, especially people on this subreddit, need to learn is that there are many problems in the world and that they can all be worried about without having to compare and "compete." Seriously, let the labiaplasty debacle spark the justified outrage that it deserves and supplement that with a discussion about b…

Troll comment, don't give it fuel.

I just don't like the exclusive wording, it's too similar to the "men have issues but women's are more important" headlines for me, at least.

"Yeah, I agree. Women have some serious challenges in today's society. Oh, by the way - do you have 100% of your genitals? Because I don't." I just don't like the way the title is worded to disregard one's issues to advertise another's.

I am aware, but it does not drive me to disregard the suffering of others in the same way that you dot want your suffering distegarded.

I was just pointing out the subreddit's dislike of recognition of female issues, probably selling from a lack of recognition of male issues. And yes, gentian mutilation to both genders in weird-ass primal societies gets me extremely angry, I'm not willing to argue that one gender has to suffer more than another but rather argue that both genders do suffer. I hope that made a little more sense. :)

Can we just realize that both men and women have problems? This subreddit is to recognize and help specifically men who are being discriminated against, not to participate in fucking "Oppression Olympics" AKA the downfall of bilateral recognition. Both genders face discrimination and genital mutilation, saying that it is worse for you and that the other person's struggles should be discounted is just as bad as someone who says that women are assaulted more and therefore we should discount helpin…

I'm so sorry that you had to go through everything you've gone through, from your traumas to the emotional belittling you are facing. I started reading through the pictures and after becoming angry I became very sad. I want to tell you that I am very sorry that all of this had to happen to you. I hate that the word suicide is not the powerful, tragic term it should be but has turned into something that people just throw around casually. People that considered or attempted suicide or saw a friend…

Just so you know, you wrote a 500+ word essay analyzing my two sentence comment on simplifying one sentence in an article. I am thoroughly impressed.

I think what she's trying to say is that our culture does not help men and even drives them to be violent and suicidal. She may be wrong but what she is trying to say is good.

This has nothing to do with feminism. It is a video of an extremely rude and racist woman that does not at all represent feminism or females at all. If you want to argue against something, you can't take extremes as examples. It would be like having religion represented by Fred Phelps.

On the religion part: I don't understand how they think that Atheism gives you any sort of boost, it really doesn't. Black Jew I never knew that was a religion.

Wow, I just realized that it's been so long since this post. Just to update you: We haven't finished Miss Representation, only gotten partway through and will be finishing it before the end of the semester. I think why I got so...frustrated is that people weren't using this as a way to become knowledgeable of discrimination based on gender, inequality, etc, but thought of it as a sort-of justification for bashing males and disregarding discrimination that happens to males. I really do support wh…

It is used by people consciously or unconsciously, to shut you up so they don't have to listen to you, or to "poison the well." "Poisoning the well" is a term for when someone tries to make someone else or their arguments look not credible or "disarm" the other person by criticizing an aspect of them or something they are aligned with that has nothing to do with they points they will present. e.g. "Please keep in mind that my opponent in this debate on going to war in Syria has never served in t…

Thank you, you've renewed my trust in you. I'm so very sorry for you and I want so badly for you to be back together with your son. My (presumably biological) father and I like to discuss things, a lot of those things being custody, morals having to do with custody & relationships, etc, and we have always come to the conclusion that the parent is not whose DNA is found in the child, but who raised the child. Anyone can make a baby, but it takes a very special, determined, and generous person to …

Hate to be the "bad guy" here, but could you explain your imgur username and the contents of your imgur uploads to me? I read the story and looked at the pictures, and this is one of the saddest, most touching stories I've ever read. But after seeing your username as "Niggerguy" and your, how should I say this, unprofessional uploads, can I really trust you? What's going on here?

Your comment brings up another great point that bothers me: You don't get too drunk because you don't want to get raped, and you will get fucked over by being raped: It's your fault if you get too drunk and have sex/are raped Men are always told that they need to protect women that get too drunk to control themselves: It's a man's fault if a woman gets too drunk and has sex/is raped.

Did he really say that? If so, that would take his "polite and misguided debater" label down to "did you not pass 5th grade science!?" I hope that argument was a joke, I really do.

I've been on here for a while and am glad to have not had many significant problems because of my gender. It really hit me the hardest in the past week when at school we watched "Miss Representation" and anything I said to try to show that men suffer the same issues was either instantly shot down, replied to with "but women have it worse," or citing a bullshit trope from a movie. I'll never forget the look on my friend's face when I left the classroom that day.

Not the greatest place to put this but...it actually brings a smile to my face to see someone here who legitimately disagrees and respectfully voices their opinion instead of being a troll or sarcastic and annoying.

When I asked why we should be limiting what women can wear on television and then jokingly compared it to Saudi Arabia, my teacher told me that women on T.V. Can't decide what they wear because the male directors force them to wear showy clothing and be sexualized and that they can't stand up for themselves. cough cough old spice cough cough. I just think that this class is more of an "install values in these children that their parents like and we want them to believe" class instead of a "free …

Well today I decided to do what I was taught in school since day one: Stand up for what you believe is right. I was ostracized, given dirty looks, mocked, targeted by everyone including the teacher, and have probably lost some friends-in-progress. But, you know, at least I won't look back and think: "I should have been assertive, I shouldn't have just sat there and let my classmates and I take in this propaganda without some opposition." "Social Issues Class: Where issues in society are brought …

I don't know if you're joking. First insulting me and then judging me by my sexual activity, if your goal is trying to look like an idiot then you've succeeded.

I thought that it was pretty funny when they said that only male students had entered the boys' bathroom as if it was a rare event.

As someone engaged in the MLP community, I would dare say that a higher percentage of military members are bronies/pegasisters than civilians.

If you're not attracted to a woman then you are judging her by her [insert here], and if you are attracted to a woman then you are objectifying her. /S I hate how people say "objectifying women." People constantly objectify each other, seeing who is a potential mate. Men check out women in the same way that women check out men, except one is punished.

The divorce was luckily not based off of any one fight or event but rather a drifting away from each other, spending less time together, and disagreeing on more things. I think that they want to pursue what they want to do in different living spaces and not connected financially or maritally. I personally believe that child support, at least in this case where both parents are capable, should be given to the parent that has to spend the most on necessities on the child (i.e. child lives with fat…
