Would massively recommend a book called "No more Mr nice guy" by Robert Glover, helped me overcome this tendency massively. Name sounds cringe but one of the best books I've read on the topic and although I try not to be goal oriented the girl I started dating while I was halfway through that book clears everyone I'd been with before.

Some advice that helped me is don't spend your days focusing on whether they're replying or not, focus on your own shit. Whether she replies 2 or 20 times a day doesn't matter when you've never been on a date, she's just another random girl you've never met who the only thing you know for certain about her is that you find her attractive.
