It just sounds like you're too lazy to engage in self-reflection. I'm afraid I can't help you there, nobody can.

Don't generalize my observation beyond its scope please. I wasn't talking about men in general, I was talking about the men in this thread who treat relationships as a necessity for purpose. As for what they should do, I think my answer is clear from my previous replies: you can't really control other people, so your stability shouldn't depend on their presence. There's no single formula for this, so you need to learn what stabilizes you personally over time.

I already did, you just don't want to accept that your framing might be wrong lol

What am I supposed to clarify since you've already decided what category I belong to?

Well that's not very fair lmao, you don't like what my comments imply so you're dismissing me as some crazy feminist

Why are you treating dating as if it's some sort of global auction where womankind collectively agrees on a man's desirability? There's no single universal "nobody will ever want you" rating.

Where did I shame men for wanting/valuing relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 06:40 AM

Even if that's true, it doesn't say anything about the objective necessity of having a partner. Only that your sense of purpose and the way you're constructing meaning is unhealthy.

If your sense of purpose relies on another person choosing you, then you're in an incredibly fragile position.

Compared to what? Constantly chasing validation from people who don't want you?

Oh, if that's true then yikes. Pity sounds like more of an appropriate response than ridicule.

One thing I've noticed throughout these replies is that most of the replies don't actually challenge my point. Most of the men here pivot to how difficult it is to move on, how bad it feels, how scarce compatible partners are, how dismissive the advice sounds, etc. Let's take your reply for example and assume what you're saying is true. Does the incompatible woman become compatible? No. Does staying increase the chance of compatibility? No. Does it make the search easier? No. So this explains wh…

When someone says "just pick someone else" they are making a statement about compatibility, not availability. Also, what do you suggest a man should do in this situation? Keep pursuing women who have already shown they're incompatible?

A prenup formalizes what happens if things go wrong, an unprompted paternity test questions sexual fidelity and relationship truthfulness. What a stupid comparison.

This sort of paranoia will resurface sooner or later anyway, so he's not going to outrun those divorce papers if that's how he chooses to treat me. A man who thinks "maybe this baby isn't mine" without any concrete reason could later think "maybe she's hiding money from me", "maybe she's lying about where she was", "maybe her male coworker is more than a coworker ", etc.

I have too much self-respect to get over it and I'm not sorry about that one bit. Choosing to believe internet narratives over your partner is either a sign of mental illness or spinelessness.

The only one who's destroying the family is the man who decided to ask for a paternity test with no prior context or issue to justify it.

If my husband would ever ask me for a paternity test out of the blue I'm serving him the divorce papers along with the results lmfao, like what are we doing here?

You're treating a possible correlation as if it's a direct explanation. Yes, more attractive people may on average find relationships faster. But you're taking that and saying that if someone took longer it MUST be because they're unattractive. The reason I care so much about not needlessly generalizing these things is because that's how men fall into a pessimistic and self-reinforcing loop.

You know what, it's my fault for expecting a basic level of reasoning
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 06:51 PM

I have a feeling you didn't understand anything I just said. What does "usually" mean here in measurable terms? How do you distinguish low desirability from other causes of delay like bad timing or no opportunity for example?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 06:24 PM

Mine isn't making a causal claim about why people take longer to get into relationships. "It took longer" doesn't imply "not desired" or "settled for". There are multiple other explanations you're ignoring, your conclusion doesn't follow your premise.

Most women these days don't need men though. They generally choose to enter into relationships with them because they want them, which is very different.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 03:59 PM

Most men do end up in at least one long term relationship over the course of their lives. There are groups of men who struggle more, but that's very different from "most men are shut out". Some people meet partners at 18, others at 30+. That variation exists for both men and women and it depends on personality, environment, mental health, social circles, etc. I'm not even sure why that's relevant though, or why getting into a relationship faster is necessarily some sort of benchmark of success. …

I keep seeing this take on this subreddit and I've always found it quite fatalistic in a silly way. If most men were unattractive by default in an absolute sense, you'd expect most men to never form relationships. Which isn't the case in the real world.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 02:11 PM

Same. For example I've gone on dates with other women that didn't amount to anything(or I was outright rejected)and the thought of guilt tripping them because I paid the tab is something that never even occurred to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 12:58 PM

Yeah, gender discourse is getting harsher and dumber, but it's not because society forgot how nuance works. Conflict drives engagement and people like to lean into it, whether for ideology, validation or just attention. Not sure how that bird article got caught in the crossfire but this post is overthought and under-argued.

I'm not a lesbian, but I am a bisexual woman and I have some thoughts about this post: I'm not shy about how I find both men and women hot but it's not due to my sexuality, it's because I've reached a point where I'm not afraid to own up to it women downplay their attraction to men because oftentimes it's socially policed. Nobody wants to get labeled as desperate, slutty or defective. Complimenting other women and even professing your attraction towards them is considered less "threatening". als…

I give men a lot of grace for most problems they face: dating challenges(especially as a bisexual woman), loneliness, mental health issues, male sexuality getting framed as predatory, being considered expendable, etc. That doesn't necessarily mean I will validate every bad take I see online though.

I've read it. I'm asking YOU to define what you mean by personally invested, since you made such big claims about my worth as a participant. Don't hide behind the OP lmfao.

Where are you getting the idea that continuing a conversation means being personally invested? That wasn’t part of the question I asked. Now answer me this, what does being personally invested here even mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/26 03:26 AM
1

Look at you trying to label me out of the conversation with emotionally charged words! So I’m irrelevant, but also bothersome, cluttering, and worth writing paragraphs about? That’s a lot of impact for someone with no value. What qualifies as being personally invested in this anyways?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/26 02:59 AM

Deflections, deflections. I'm not interested in arguing about group identities, I'm interested in seeing whether an idea holds up to scrutiny.

I have no idea where "french" came from, but no. Stress-testing just means checking if an argument holds up when you question its assumptions. For example, you didn't address my point about how irrelevant women shouldn't bother you if they're truly irrelevant. You stepped around it and grabbed onto something easier, so...

It's a combination of morbid curiosity and stress-testing your logic. The fact that my presence bothers you is slightly amusing and it means you don't find me irrelevant.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/26 01:42 PM

Eh, experience does matter for comfort and communication, but it’s not the sole determinant of sexual compatibility or enjoyment. You can be inexperienced yet attentive and eager to learn, but those are not typically the ones obsessing over virginity.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 06:49 PM

Pretty much, consent is about the present act and not past details or personal disappointment. I find takes like OP's to be theatrical and extremely off-putting.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 06:25 PM

There are some cases where deception does change the legal nature of consent, it's just not trivial stuff like virginity. But you're mostly right, some unknowns in sex are normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 06:21 PM
1

Calling it fraud is also absurd because the sexual act itself was consensual, there's no legally or ethically binding contract requiring full disclosure of every past experience. Same thing goes for long-term relationships. It's also not rape because you're stretching consent beyond its legal/ethical limits to include things like fantasies, preferences, long-term expectations, etc. You can leave, be frustrated or even morally judge someone over it but this is a dramatic overexaggeration.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 06:15 PM

He’s probably either imagining some “inexperienced body language” that would give him a psychic clue, or he’s just making up rules to control women’s sexuality. Either way, it’s absurd.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/26 03:41 PM
22

Lying about one’s sexual past does not equal rape. Consent is about agreeing to a specific sexual act freely, not about providing your complete personal history.

Being poor is just a neutral fact, it's not some sort of character flaw and it doesn't have to be a permanent state. Neither is being sexually deprived. Discomfort is a natural human reaction, but it doesn't automatically make someone else responsible for it.

If I share a sex-related anecdote with a male friend, I'm not doing it to be cruel or to flaunt my sex life and I find it weird that you assume that.

You're still equivocating between expected value and intrinsic value. The LoLN does not define "intrinsic" anything, it describes convergence of sample means to a mathematically defined expectation given a predefined variable. In your examples, the variable is preference frequency, nothing more. Calling the expected value "least subjective" does not make it intrinsic or qualitative, it just means it's a stable aggregate of subjective inputs. That distinction matters, and statistics does not eras…

The LoLN says: "As the number of samples increases, the sample mean converges to the expected value of the underlying distribution." You're still conflating aggregate preference with intrinsic value. LoLN can only converge on an expected value after a measurable variable is defined. In dating, no such objective metric exists. You're not measuring height, mass, or probability, you're only measuring preferences. Your original claim was: "I'm chosen by selective people, therefore I'm superior." You…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 07:31 PM
1

Even if many selective people make the same choice, that only reflects their individual criteria, not an objective measure of someone’s superiority. The Law of Large Numbers describes averages, it doesn't assign any intrinsic value. That's like saying that because many people like chocolate, chocolate must be objectively superior to vanilla.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 05:23 PM
1

You're not engaging with my actual argument. What I'm saying is that their selectivity doesn't necessarily validate your so-called superiority. It doesn't matter whether they're selective due to inexperience or something else. Oh, also editing mid-thread to “correct” someone’s argument instead of actually engaging with it is basically admitting, without saying it, that you can’t handle my original point.

Now you're just hiding behind the dictionary lmfao. You're the one who asked "why should he lay down his life to save hers?". That is a sacrifice by definition. Also protection often entails risk of sacrifice, even if the sacrifice never occurs. Everyone in this thread seems to understand this except you, apparently. “By her admission, his life is worth more” - she NEVER said that, you keep putting words in her fucking mouth. All she did was describe the hierarchy of roles in her relationship. N…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 02:56 PM

“I didn’t say she was undeserving of protection” - yes you did. You asked why should he lay down his life to save hers, if he is worth more than her. That is literally the definition of saying someone is undeserving of sacrifice. "Which is her admission" - it absolutely isn't. She admitted a role hierarchy based on trust and mutual agreement. Nowhere did she admit to any sort of ontological inferiority, asymmetry or moral worth difference. You are asserting that leap and pretending she agreed to…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 09:04 AM

She's describing a mutual relational agreement and you jumped to the conclusion that she's inferior and undeserving of protection. Are you okay?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/25 10:45 PM

Your argument about virgins being more selective is contradictory. If virgins are selective because of their values, then their selectivity is not proof of the man's superiority. If they're selective because of inexperience, then their choice says nothing about the man's quality.
