OP, I have been in your exact position before. I would recommend disobeying them. It's disrespectful but your mental health should be a priority over what your parents believe is right, unless of course, you are a danger to yourself or others. Thanks to my parents who "knew better" I took medication that put me into a very DEEP depression. It took walking out the house and being on the streets for a night to get them to fuck off.
