My experience is that there exists a strong peer pressure on boys (to claim) not to work hard for school, (claim) to hate school, and (pretend) not to get along with teachers. (It's still acceptable to have good grades, as long as you're not trying, you're just getting them accidentally cause you're so clever that you can't help it.) Girls by and large are not mocked if they study long hours to nail the test.

I can prove this by looking at transgender women. I myself am one, and even though I often wanted to, I couldn't cry before I started HRT. I physically could not cry, even when things were really hard. Now it happens against my will. Eh. I have the exact opposite experience. I don't cry any more or less now than before, even though my emotions feel different in other ways. Hormones, life history, and genes interact with one another in an incredibly complex way.

Undoubtedly male disposability plays a part, but I see two other factors that can contribute to this: Exploiting women-are-wonderful effect for donations: you probably receive more money if you emphasise women and children as help recipients, as opposed to men. NGOs could be targeted (to a greater degree than already are) if they provide food and medical care to combatants. In Yemen, all combatants are male AFAIK.

So every time a woman called, it was counted as "domestic violence against women". But then when a man called, it was also counted as "domestic violence against women". The idea that men could also be victims was simply never considered. Can we get a source for this please? Yeah, no, it's not. Firstly, it's a suspension, not termination, of parental rights. Second, you need to either be on remand while awaiting your trial or to have been indicted by an investigating judge. So, it's not great, but not that bad.

This reads like a carbon copy of the old doctrine of "bourgeois nationalism", but with nation replaced with gender. How many fathers get joint 50/50 custody (or better) and still have to pay child support? It's ridiculous that mothers aren't expected to take on half the financial responsibilities of a kid. Like I said in another thread, I just don't see how that follows. Why should 50/50 custody translate into 50/50 cost sharing, if that wasn't how the relationship worked when the couple was still together?
