I only see it as a problem when they start whining about it. Like if I expect the top 1% "simply cause". Cool. I'm gonna have to live with being alone, or reduce my expectations. But it's when I see people crying or getting violent about it, that I see it as cringe. Accept your decision or change it. Don't pretend like this is the most obvious choice you can make lol. I think time and loneliness can do a number on their criteria. As long as they avoid being entitled.

If it's strictly higher than hers, hypocritical. If it's just around that range i.e. they both earn high rather than "more than I do". Reasonable.

Honestly it's semantics. I personally agree on the notation that sex is about doing it rather than bonding, literally speaking. But yeah, bonding is a thing one can or not include into it. The former of those who include it as a rule call themselves as demisexual the way I see it. Basically they want emotional attachment before they do it. Not sure if I'm wrong there, but guess that makes sense? For those who don't, one night stands with no call backs unless it's for sex. The term for the sake o…

Just to get some ideas. Honestly, I'm at the end of the road when it comes to worrying about this. People want to talk about stuff they can't talk about openly. The days of having a listening ear for free to just rant are gone or were never there. Eventually life takes its toll and people grow up. Personally, realising this ain't worth it. Cos even if someone came into my life perfectly all set, this mentality of worrying about this debate would make them run lol. Which goes to show how meaningl…

Sorry about the rant, not sure if it answers anything. In the end, you aren't wrong. But the issue is the difficulty in accepting said skills as necessities. Accepting them would kinda mean not giving any further crap about something you've given a crap about a long time. And incase you follow the idea "Just do what you need to do and go enjoy it", you won't really enjoy it. Knowing fully well these conditions exist, you can't help but have this narcisstic or extremely selfish view that you're d…

One major issue comes from not knowing the existence of said problems. I used to be fat and ugly, lost a lot of weight now, but it's only when I did some research that I realised how many wrong notions I had about a lot of things, which made me aware of something that otherwise would have only come from having them. For instance, social skills isn't a thing I new existed. Atleast from the (wrongful) validation introverts suddenly got as a teen, it was either you were social or an introvert. It w…

I am slightly out off by the idea we should love at all. Just like people might have reasons to love that many here are unable to see, there are reasons for people on this forum to doubt its existence. I used to believe in it, even after living with a family that was forced into a relationship that they never knew how to love. Constantly hearing either silence or fights is good evidence to believe love doesn't happen everywhere, limiting whatever power people talk about regarding its presence. B…

Indeed. Therapist recommended it after I told my story, and it wasn't a required reading where I am from. And damn! The story hit like a ton of bricks. Didn't realise it was somewhat commonplace behavior in boy culture. Not sure if it's the same for women too, but atleast felt understood for once.

Thanks for this! As a man who has checked out some of these forums, it is a mish mash of good advice and not so great ones too. Honestly, one of the biggest issues with this or any other movement, feminism included, is there's a lot of preachers preaching a variety of things. Where one individual might actually hold a pretty good set of values to share, someone else allowing himself to be in the same group twist it or bring a different notion. Ironically, I've found most of the content in the Re…

Wouldn't say it's silly, unless I'm lashing out at people and such. Thing is you can't take it in the more blissful spirit you once thought you could have. You realise there's a lot more important things to account for before attraction can be managed. And while this is the mature perspective to take, that attraction isn't everything and is honestly a pleasure to be enjoyed and too fickle to be taken any more seriously then that, it is sad to acknowledge you can't just be blissfully happy even f…
