Facts are, the poor ones don't go for divorce. They just murder the wife and drop her in a ditch or something. Or they simply don't dovorce and keep on marrying people after peiple. The poor ones don't care if they spend a few years in Jail. It's the rich who would be ostracized from their social circles if scandals like going to jail came to light. My statement was generalisation. ofcourse the reverse is also true. I know of rich, land owning Zamindar kinda people who burned their daughter in law alive for dowery. In India, there is a huge divide. On one hand, women from a large section of the population (lower middle class and lower class, almost 80% of the population) face domestic abuse almost regularly. So we need these strict laws. The problem is, women from this section of society are not educated enough and extremely marginalised to rightfully use these laws that in their favor. What ends up happening is that women from wealthy class of society, who are educated, abuse these laws. So its a catch 22…	/r/AntiFeminists	08/07/22 10:51 AM
