So a few things … this happened for a while after I got Covid… but it did phase out after a few months. Stress also is a huge culprit for hair loss - at least for me. When those two things were both going on I felt like sooo much hair was falling out and I didn’t know if / when it would stop so I tried a few things and I felt like they worked. 1 reducing stress - which is hard to do mentally but for me if I workout or go on a walk everyday I am significantly less stressed. It’s hard to say just …

I think it’s just how adult friendships are :/ having one or two close friends and then social friends seems to be how it is. It was shocking to me too

I think you’re going to be just fine! Honestly my advice is always to embody the traits of the person you’d want to attract - obviously differences in a man / woman but the foundation of taking care of yourself is key. I really do think that the effort to look better, feel better, and be happier will attract the right person for you

I’m sure you’ve been told this before, but his watching porn has absolutely nothing to do with your attractiveness or adequacy. You could be the objectively hottest woman on the planet and it wouldn’t affect his habits. I’m not sure what to say about if you should work on being ok with it or if it’s ok to not be ok with it, but I do agree with you that there is a big difference between things like onlyfans and porn sites. You’re not wrong for making a distinction between the two.

This !! I had no idea how weights are … just the best honestly ! I spent so much time avoiding them because I don’t want to be bulky whatever but ! It’s actually sooooo hard to get bulky lol and since starting weights it’s the first time I can see muscle tone appear within literally a week and it gives me the best endorphin rush so far beyond forcing myself to jog

The best way to be spotted in a room is to focus on the inside out … the people that are noticed are those who emit that type of charismatic attractive energy - physical beauty certainly helps but in my opinion physical beauty is also very much a product of who you are. How would the most confident sexy woman act in this situation? Do that. Also, my guide to stop worrying … log off. Just log off of the internet. It’s sad for me to see that you probably are much more attractive than you think and…

Practice ! It really is something you have to learn to feel out I think. Any girlfriends that have a nice kitchen ? I’d suggest going to hangout like on a Sunday afternoon and trying to cook a few different things with them and they’ll be able to give honest feedback. After a bit you’ll get the hang of it - YouTube is really helpful too lots of tutorials

You can allow a man to make you feel safe stable secure protected all of that, however, that can all exist while you still feel like you have autonomy and personal power. 50/50 isn’t a good guideline in my opinion. If you want him to take care of all the money things, there is no issue with that. That’s what men are for in a way. But again there is a ~feeling~ to that type of dynamic that is the difference between it’s a choice and you like that he does it and you have roles in other areas versu…

First thing I have to say which I hope this motivates you and doesn’t cause u more anxiety but. You make your face. If you worry and think you’re not cute and ur boyfriend deserves better, it’ll be a self fulfilling prophecy. We cannot ignore conventional beauty, but Attractiveness is truly inside out. And I unfortunately relate to the weird comparison thing, I’ve been there and ugh that I’ve just been stabbed feeling is really hard to shake - but you and I know it’s not good for us ! First of a…

Well my first reaction is that no it’s not your fault. He is a grown man and is responsible for his behavior independent of what you do. However, I do understand why he would be turned off by that behavior. I would imagine that he doesn’t want to think about his exes so often, but you keep asking him to and I’m not sure what else he could say that soothes you. It is in the past and no matter what he says, it isn’t the present and in the present he is with you not them. And so I would wonder why …

Yes… it does sound to me like he tends toward avoidant and you tend toward anxious. And when he’s avoidant it fuels your anxiety and when you’re anxious it fuels his avoidance. Fight flight or … fawn! Anxious attachment is more of a fawn. And avoidant is usually a mix fight & flight. I tend toward anxious also… and many such cases. It is usually unconscious responses, but it is very very possible to become conscious of these patterns and attempt to change them. I have found that having this labe…

I think this is the wrong way to think about both yourself and the situation. I agree with the comment that said the problem with baggage is if you’re still carrying it. Everyone has a past, it’s how you move forward. Also, there is no such thing as matching baggage. It is likely that you will attract ( as everyone unconsciously does) someone who is the opposite of you attachment wise. This can be amazing and helpful and make you a great team- in health. But, being unaware of your coping / respo…

Ok first of all this is a very difficult situation - for all of you. I do agree with your husband that his son has gone through a lot of change and his circumstances seem like they’re pretty heavy. And you have to remember the context of him being a 15 year old boy. Very few of those are pleasant lol and it’s as if it’s their job to hide away & what not. To get this out of the way first, it seems like the drinking needs to be addressed. That will help a lot of these things. I wouldn’t suggest re…

lol no it’s not being a man … and it’s not acting like the man you would want … it’s having personality qualities that are desirable … do you want someone that’s honest, that’s skilled, that’s kind whatever

I think you will find someone easiest if you’re upfront with what you want- it’s not uncommon! A lot of men would like a traditional set up. However, you should still consider what your interests are. Even if you are dependent on someone financially, for you to be a good catch, you still need to have goals / aspirations of your own and they can be entirely independent of “career”. To be interesting you have to be interested. I believe you’ll find someone who you love and will support you financi…

I wouldn’t normally be so definitive with an answer but. Yes, leave. He’s not treating you well - period. A lot of the things you said he’s doing aren’t ok but the essence is that he is not treating you in a way you deserve at all. And I always believe in change -but in your current dynamic it is my likely to happen. You shouldn’t have to beg for little tokens of affection. I know it being a first relationship and being young it feels like literally life or death, but I promise you, if you do mo…

You can only follow a man who knows where he’s going wow very nicely put. The thing about financial literacy is that it is a skill that is taught and many people don’t have the knowledge because their parents didn’t teach them. So that is difficult. However, I agree with all these comments about the difference between expressing discomfort and expressing discomfort with an actionable, realistic plan. He seems to be in the realm of complaining rather than doing. All these issues can certainly be …

Yes it does give more context. And of course it’s both of you. There are 3 entities in a relationship - 1 him 2 you 3 your relational space together. This does not however justify him being insulting. You obviously have the awareness that when you insulted him, it wasn’t ok and you are going to work toward not doing that again. You need the same from him because just as it takes 2 to make it bad, it also takes 2 to repair it.

This is a very important point. Would you let him speak to your children like this?

I do have to say, it’s really hard to be a soft place if the one person you’re supposed to feel safe with is insulting you - your body can’t help but put on some armor. I’m with you about accepting flaws, but this is a bit more than just anger. And just a bit of info on couples therapy - as someone who studied it, essentially couples therapy only works when the two people have a deep understanding of their own issues / trauma underlying them. The couples therapist is trained to not really say an…

I’ve found if’s best to not react in the moment. However! If you want a relationship with some longevity, you do have to address this dynamic - later, when he’s not angry. It has never worked for me in the moment 1 they’re angry and likely will not be in a space to be helpful 2 I tend to cry lol so I try to wait until I’m a bit calmer. Therapy ofc would be amazing - I would say each of you individually rather than couples therapy … many reasons but individual is far more effective. But yes this …

This is a really good comment! I think that the premise behind 50/50 is that couples are putting in effort to the relationship that is somewhat equal. Like the comment said, it sounds like your way of doing this is working for you so no need to stress yourself out ! And generally speaking I don’t think 50/50 has a single definition and there wouldn’t be a way to measure it anyway- many forms of labor

Well. It is very confusing, but I feel like you do know which one you really want to be with. To me, it sounds like 30M. I believe in endless hope, everyone can change especially with love. However, that being said, I think you’re being given a gift that 30m is direct with you about things he does not want to change. And living in a perpetual state of hope may not be good for you. I know it’s hard, but I’d believe him with all that he says, not just the things that are good. I’d want to ask you …

I asked on a sewing thread how to make repairs stronger in my boyfriends clothes and I was attacked hahaha they were saying he should do his own and not force me to and that I’m living in the 1800s. Which like they obviously took what I was saying way out of context. But I’m also clear their agression isn’t about me.

I think that relationship work is vulnerable and hard and so some people don’t want to make the effort. And I mean the modern age and the dilemma of choice has everything thinking the grass is greener and it’ll appear magically when that’s not really the case and the most successful marriages or relationships of any kind are successful because they’ve worked toward that Also I think since Reddit is anonymous people take out frustrations that they can’t in their lives and judge much more harshly.

Yeah the “this is just how I talk” isn’t anything a grown man should be saying. That’s a weak statement and we are influenced by how we were raised but at some point it becomes a choice- especially since he is well aware of how it affects you.

Well I think that when you are in a relationship with someone, part of it is not knowing. Like the anxiety of excitement ! However, there is a difference in the way it feels to be in a relationship and nervous anxious or anxious in an excited way … that wouldn’t really be “anxious” In mature relationships you should have a pretty good handle on their intentions … and if you do not feel like you can ask and it’s been a significant amount of time then I would say that’s probably not very good

Omg yes that’s sweet. I think your intention is what’s winning ! To him the actual object probably doesn’t matter as much as -you went out of your way to do something sweet- As for cooking … not everyone is good at it and not everyone has to be. However I had the same fear like omg what if it’s not good and I can’t tell but I told my bf like plssss be honest because if u tell me it’s good and it’s not … I’ll make it again lol so tell me the truth. Ok also there often is a difference in love language for giving and receiving. I think you’re getting a feel for what he likes. If printing out a photo is too much you can just put a tiny note in his bag when he leaves that says like xoxo or something. Or print a little picture from his fav horror film? Also u can subscribe to things that have events he would like … such as the horror movie. Check their listings and when one is coming up just schedule it and say that’s what you’re doing. He seem…

A couple years is a long time .. I would agree that moving in together is good! And doing all the nurturing things / housework things is good too ( if that’s who you are). It feels good to play that role and you will learn a lot about each other. And if you moved in and tried not to … good luck lol It’s also fun and feels safe … but I would assume at this point you would know or not if he will propose … soon … you don’t have to press him for it to be immediate it there is a safety in knowing if …

About the bullying - i was a mean girl / bully all the way through high school and have felt very bad about that and shifted to being kind / not a bully. It’s possible but.. that was because I did a lot of work on myself. No one could fix it for me and I had to be really self- motivated. Your husband would have to do the same - feeling really guilty doesn’t mean anything if it stops there and he doesn’t do anything to actually change. I’m really sorry you’re going through this but as the other c…

Yes this is such a good response. Everything above is the important work and also sometimes when you are really struggling, if you are doing acceptance work otherwise, there’s nothing wrong with distracting yourself especially before bed. The internet really does not work / help but if you can get into a really simple book… a story that is good enough but easy and enjoyable to read… that can really help redirect your mind.

Not shallow and yeah people will call you picky or whatever but .. you’re not. You’re attracted to certain characteristics and there’s nothing wrong with that. Also I’m sure you will not have a hard time finding a man over 5’6 lol that’s pretty short still

I kinda think all men lie. Unfortunately. There is a space where we all lie and some things don’t matter, but it is hard not to think that if he is ok with lying, especially since you asked him directly, that he probably lies about more significant things. Just from my personal experience, it depends on how long youve been together too. I’ve been with my bf for a little over a year and there are things that I found out the lied about in the first 3 months of dating. I can’t unsee these however ,…

So many good suggestions about big self care things - yoga, friends, walking all that But what I have found most effective ( I really relate) is tiny things. Taking 5 mins in the car to just sit and breathe before I go inside. Literally just 5 mins. It works wonders. For me it’s just slowing down dipping into the feminine energy of no rush. Taking a few extra moments feels so good. Along those lines, when you have time, a dramatic bedtime routine. And by dramatic I just mean take your time. Oil …

Ok. My best friend was in a very similar situation. The truth that none of us want to let in, including me, is that sometimes, that’s just who they are. Your passions and interests are what make you interesting and it’s how you find joy interacting in the world. Not everyone has that, so it might just be that he really isn’t interested and doesn’t care about that type of thing. Which is disappointing to even entertain that thought. And something that I’ve found hard for me ( dating not yet marri…
