When I got a new job in a new city I was drinking half a bottle of whiskey per day (at least) just to get some "fun" 2 hours per day after leaving work. This was following some self-grooming for years where I learned to use alcohol as instant gratification. The only thing that made me break this cycle was actively using my body. I started with C25k at 12 minute miles. 12 months later I ran a marathon in 5 hours. Lost 30 lbs, shifted to lifting and cycling to work. You can rationalize your behavi…

This is probably my biggest weakness. My job demands that I be very orderly and when I get home I just don't want to feel like I'm at work anymore. I'm way better at producing (cooking, planning) than cleaning up after myself. I even think I got dumped when I was 20 because my girlfriend said my 50 square foot dorm room was filthy.

I can sense when I'm becoming undisciplined and this rang of addiction. I got a quick dopamine rush every time I tipped and made her smile. This was not healthy behavior.

The banana thing was rhetorical. It was never really overtly sexual. I didn't even really wank to it, it was just artificial company.

Yep both right. It was just a matter of terrible convenience. I'm wandering around my house doing stuff I like I can I can have a pretty girl undress and laugh at my jokes.

I have a friend who did a little time in prison after he was married and already dirt poor. Wife sticks with him through 2 years of incarceration. He gets out, puts himself through college, pumps out a couple more kids, and starts hitting the pavement for a real job. The whole time his wife had not had a job, including while he was in jail. Spends her entire day smoking weed and doing nothing. He continued to struggle to provide for his family. Worked in fast food for years because he couldn't g…

This was interesting to me as a more average looking guy with significantly less game. Really reinforced the 80/20 rule for me. Tinder and okc have been completely fruitless for me. My goal is more family/ltr but I realized I'm probably excluding 80% of the women I want to meet by not actively improving my smv.

I have an ex that has spent the past 10 years hopping from country to country riding the CC and collecting useless degrees. She recently moved back to the US and out of some misguided attempt at empathy I tried to explain the basics of personal finance/retirement savings to her. She refuses to invest because she would rather "live in the moment" and "doesn't believe in corporations." I explained this probably means she'll be working until she dies.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
