And get photographic evidence of every everything in the house, whether you want it or not, in case you get kicked out.

You'd be surprised. Ex makes double, has taken custody, and I'm paying child support. Judge ripped my financial declaration apart and concluded I didn't need alimony or legal fees. Judge actually looked at my declaration and hers and said "let's just take mom's number." Her strategy was to take control of house, money, and kids. Judge signed off on it.

Kids huh? Prepare yourself for not seeing them. Prepare yourself for a silver bullet divorce. Prepare for your ex to do everything in the best interest of the kids, even though it isn't, and for the court to stand behind her. You will be the bad man. No, don't care if you were a good father and a good husband. You are the bad man. Poison steals your children, judges take your rights. Prepare yourself by developing your own social group and getting back all that you lost of yourself in the marria…

I took care of the kids, she saved us from the pandemic, got a big promotion and raise, changed her mind about moving so I could pursue my career, and kids grew up. Judge bought it. Now I'm a deadbeat that's only good for child support. Oh, and child care when she has to race off to save the world again.

What did the GAL support? The judge will probably rubber stamp that would be my guess.

Free fake DV charge. Free lies the judge doesn't question. Free time with the kids by denying parent time. Free benefit of the doubt. Free "she's a poor working mom who's slob husband walked out on her leaving her poor soul to care for the kids while working and keeping the house." Man has to pay to fight family court bias. My divorce will cost $100k, but it's all fighting what she's lied about and already taken. That's the discount.

Yup, judge grilled me over charges as little as $7 on my financial disclosure. Ex didn't submit hers, like any of it, but judge took her numbers when mine were too high in HER opinion. Lawyer keeps telling me that it'll catch up with her but it's just all bs.

I have to disagree with the GAL. They aren't psychologists, they're lawyers, and will fight for "their client", possibly against the father just because...because of something the child repeated that mom planted in their head, because they think they know something, because they are biased and have seen it all before, because they know the power they wield in court. Sure, keep records, but there are judges who don't believe in alienation, it's a long court battle with an uncertain outcome even i…

Do you have a penis? Good luck. My experience is that even when therapists have all said "huh, that's alienating behavior" or "that's weird what your daughter is saying" and "strange you'd go from SAHD to her not wanting to see you" the judge was more interestd in making sure mom was getting her due child support. It's a massive fight, maybe 6 months to a year to get the "proving" started, with tens of thousands spent on GALs, custody evaluators, and w/e else, and years to get it through the cou…

My ex stole my dog. Picked him up at the dogsitter while I was away on business trip. Not a thing I can do, and yeah, I miss him every day. Hate it when everybody tells me to just go get another.

Interested. I'm at the same point. Just gave up 50/50 under threat from the GAL to argue in court for EOW or less visitation. Ex has alienated my daughter to the point where she doesn't want to see me. I never received support, but now I'm paying even tho ex makes twice what I do before her bonuses. We have mediation for the financial side now, but ex is going for everything she can at any cost. In her mind, a win is spending $1000 to keep her from paying $1 in support or alimony. The way everyt…

Beware of a fake DV charge. She can use it to get her way--custody and the house. Literally, a hen told my ex "talk to your lawyer, she knows how to make sure the kid stays with you and you keep the house." It is absolutely true. Even a false DV charge will work. "I'm scared of him" is the way women use the court system to get "it's not working for us". It works, and once you're out, you are out. Go take a video inventory of everything in the house now, record all your interactions. If she screa…

My experience: you work harder now, for whatever reasons, and you will be punished. This happens: man moves out (for the kids), works extra to pay his bills and her bills because we live by a moral code. Court says, "oh, you can make that much? Well then you can pay that much." Does not matter that you are in survival mode. You realize that working that schedule doesn't leave you time to see the kids. Court agrees, sends them to mom. It's a fuck from both ends. Even as the low earner, the judge …

How crazy? Bro, you are just getting started. Get a lawyer. There is a very low bar for DV claims, and the court will err on the side of the woman. Take this seriously or it could dog you throughout the divorce.

I really don't know and have given up trying to figure it out. I apologized for filing, but she found out when she was talking to a lawyer. I told her I wasn't trying to take the kid or the house and promised not to. She is a narcisist, and every court hearing she brings up how important she thinks her job is. I tried meeting with her over and over again after the divorce started, with and without family counselors, and her response has been to file a new motion and just say "I don't talk to my …

It was a brilliant move. She's an overcontrolling narcissist and I've been a dish towel. Her RO tells the story: she blamed me for all my kid's imagined mental and academic orders, and now that she has him full time he hasn't been treated for anything and is a rock star at school. There's been so little hint of DV or other bad behavior that she couldn't even stretch a shred of truth into a lie that would pass even family court standards, and I absolutely believe she would have if she could have …

I thought we'd get an official temporary orders filing, but as far as I can tell the judge ignored most of what was in there--home and cars, personal effects, etc--and just did a shit job with custody, alimony, child support, and legal fees. I was on an extended trip when I filed for divorce, so the story I'm getting is that I left the home. That was almost a year ago anyway, and I've given up on getting anything back from the house.

IDK, at temporary orders she looked at my expenses down to ones that wer less than $10, and stared me down about an accounting error of less than $200 and said she'd find out if I was fudging anything. I couldn't believe it, and I had all my spending laid out from my credit card statements. It's been like a Twilight Zone episode. I've thought about taking out what she said my monthly budget was for expenses in cash, and paying for everything that I can in cash. I can live lean, and it wouldn't g…

Thanks. Feels like paying slots. The next nickel is going to be a winner, I just know it. Nickel being the next $5000 payment to the lawyer.

Everybody says my lawyer is well respected and known for being a bulldog at trial. I should file the police report. We have too much in savings. Judge divided them up and said "there's your legal fees." I am on house. Nice guy said he wasn't going to force sale but that's off the table if I can force it. The judge didn't award alimony or legal fees at temporary orders hearing. She upped my income to max, dropped ex's to minimum, ignored what's in the bank account, and cut my expenses in half. I …
