All you've done is repeat that you think 9 months is too long. Why? That's what I'm trying to get at. You don't seem to have a reason. It's clear that you never really intended to answer my question in the first place, so I don't really care if you'd like to pretend that my "rambling" is why you refuse. If it makes you feel better about not having a justification for your opinions, then fine. You do you.

On the contrary. There is evidence AGAINST her claim. Video evidence, even. It's not just a lack of evidence. It seems disingenuous to try and paint the situation as more ambiguous then it is. And I strongly disagree with the idea that she was merely trying to ruin someone's reputation. If she had gotten away with it, the guy could have gone to jail for a very long time. She's trying to deny someone of their freedom and send them to jail for 10+ years. The minimum penalty for perjury is a felony…

Filing a false rape report means you INTEND for the accused to be denied their freedom based on your lie. So I disagree that the punishment should be merely for filing a false police report. She attempted to deny someone their freedom based on a lie. That's a criminal offense. Just because she failed to coerce the state into doing her dirty work doesn't mean she is innocent of having criminal intent. It's the same reason why attempted murder is illegal. Just because you fail to commit a criminal act doesn't mean it's not criminal.

I completely disagree with you. If someone's intent is to use the state in order to DENY SOMEONE THEIR FREEDOM by lying, that should be considered a CRIMINAL OFFENSE. The same goes for framing someone for murder or any other crime. The intent is to coerce the state into doing your dirty work for you. That's CRIMINAL.

No, there IS evidence. Evidence in favor of the defendant. What if there were no evidence either way? It would then be a "he said, she said" situation. In THAT CIRCUMSTANCE, do you still believe the court would have ruled in his favor? The point being, the guy is lucky that the camera picked up the girl leaving the club while the guy remained inside. If it hadn't, this guy's life could have been ruined.
