That said, when you're finally tired of it's bullshit...Golang is a great language to turn to. Rust is great to learn more of a "functional programming" mindset. I now work in one of the hottest sectors in tech (blockchain/cryptocurrencies), and I can tell you that while what I learned for these degrees makes people think I'm bred for the job, I honestly don't feel like I use much of the computer science I learned along the way in my day to day work (econ is slightly different story but that's more to do with the statistics and math and game theory that came along with it).
